Josephine’s place in town- downtown Jim Thorpe

This place was great. Location was awesome and off street parking a plus! Plenty of sleeping space. Living room has pull out sofa which we didn’t need to use. Second floor has 3 BR with queen beds and a 4th BR with twin bed and twin trundle. My husband and I loved the third floor which was very spacious with a king bed and private bath with shower and claw foot bath tub which I loved. There was a small room off the 3rd floor suite that had two more twin beds which we didn’t need. All the beds were very comfortable. The center of town was a 10 minute walk down a very steep road and a very good workout of a walk home. We love Jim Thorpe and this house was perfect for our family weekend!! I would definitely stay here again!!

We absolutely loved our stay here! The property and the house are very beautiful with lots of thoughtful amenities. The location is wonderful and in easy walking distance to downtown as long as you’re okay with walking up/down the hill which was no problem for us! Would absolutely stay here again.

We enjoyed the great location of Josephine's house! Just a short walk (downhill) to town and all its offerings. We all slept comfortably and plenty of towels and extra blankets were provided. We enjoyed the back porch alot! Plenty of off-street parking for our group.

The house was very clean and the beds were extremely comfortable; two of the most important things when traveling! Not all bedrooms have air conditioning, which might be fine in milder weather, but it was very hot the four days we were there. However, the first floor was cool and comfortable, as were the other air-conditioned bedrooms. We had a great time and a happy stay at Josephine’s House : )

Really great location and a good-sized place. We easily fit 3 couples and 7 children (ages 3 to 7). We loved sitting out on the front and back porches, and the kids loved playing in the yard. The living room was very comfortable and lots of seating. The walk into town is a bit steep, but there was enough of a shoulder and sidewalks that it felt safe, even with lots of little kids. The AC units worked great on all 3 levels. We would stay here again.

Easy check in. Owner very responsive. I had asked if hair dryer before arrived, she said there was one, but was broken when we got there. She brought one immediately to the house.😀 I felt like a few things in the description were a little off but we made do. There are no "Murphy beds".One of the "bedrooms" is just a very small room w no closet, and a squeaky daybed w a pull out bed underneath, that I wouldn't suggest for anyone more than a child. The three queen bedrooms are very comfortable, nice, and spacious. The stairs to the 3rd fl are scary, narrow.King bed is great, but the room is very odd to say the least. If someone is in bed you could see someone take a shower or on the toilet!! No wall separating the bedroom from the bathroom, even though would be easy to construct one. Room divider is useless. TINY SHOWER. So if you have a house full of adults I would basically say you have one and a half baths, and the full bathroom on the third floor can only be used if no one else is up there. Very strange side room off that, basically an attic. One of the weirdest sleeping situations, with two twin beds very high up on these platforms that I would not feel comfortable with myself or my child sleeping on, and the room has no AC. Maybe kids would think fun. Make sure you look at the pictures to see if the house fits your needs.Clean, well stocked, GREAT location. The hill was a challenge! Really enjoyed fire pit & deck. We had a wonderful time in JT! The house was quite cozy and quaint. Clean. Property manager replied within a few minutes. We arrived early and we were able to enter the home which was greatly appreciated. Rooms are large, air conditioning was wonderful too. Walking distance to Downtown. Would definitely stay there again.

The house was very clean and well stocked with everything we needed. All the beds and furniture were very comfortable. The back porch and yard were a nice bonus for hanging out and having a safe space to move around with a two year old. We are big walkers, so we braved the hill every day to walk to town which really isn’t that bad. It was a heck of a lot better than trying to find parking. Also, all the trails we hit were in very close driving distance. We have rented from Patricia before at another property of hers. She is a great host. Thanks again!

The house was very large with plenty of room for our family. The photos on the website didn't do the house justice. It was larger and prettier in person. I found it well equipped and very livable. It was extremely cold the weekend we stayed because of the polar vortex, but the home remained warm and cozy. I would definitely recommend and would love to stay again.

Close to center of town but we are all senior citizens so drove rather than walk the hills, but it is close enough to walk if you don't mind walking uphill to return. Also appreciated the off-street parking.

I was looking for a location that was convenient for my adult children and I to have a holiday gathering. This property came up from my filters and fit the bill. Communication was great. It was easy to reserve and share info with all who were coming. House was very clean, and more spacious than I imagined. It accomodated our large group comfortably. Very happy with price and experience

Communication was amazing with Patricia responding within minutes to any query. She also updated me on status of roads and had salt on porch ready for use if necessary. Would definitely recommend!!

House clean and nicely appointed. Heating system odd and a bit hard to control. Pillows poor. Beds ok. Not in walking distance to town as we had thought, especially in freezing cold weather with children.

Property was as advertised. Nice location to shops and restaurants. Beds are super comfortable! We all enjoyed our stay at the house.

Great location for staying in Jim Thorpe. It is almost three hours out of New York City. If your there with anyone other than your immediate family there is only two bathrooms for bathing. One on the second floor and one on the third floor. The one on the third floor is up a very narrow staircase (not good for older folks or individuals with disabilities. Also, since it is on the third floor in a beautiful room the bathroom is open with no doors. There is an additional room on the third floor for children not adults. On the second floor that really only has 3 excellent bedrooms, there is another very small room really for children. One last thing to mention, many of the neighbors alerted us to the bears in the area and to make sure we did not leave garbage outside. We did go downtown and take a train ride, trolly car, experience all that the town square had to offer. You should buy your tickets early as well as if you are driving get there at least one hour before to find parking. We went on a Saturday and it was really crowded. Overall, the weekend stay was great and I would recommend Josephine's house to anyone visiting Jim Thorpe.

Fun Friends weekend in Jim Thorpe! The house was awesome with plenty of room located just up the hill from town. The hill was a little challenging but non the less we walked to and from town both days. We took the train ride and strolled the beautiful streets of Jim Thorpe. Plenty of restaurants and bars to relax and enjoy. This was our 1st time in Jim Thorpe and already looking forward to visiting again some day! Thankyou so very much!!

The property owner did not send me code to house and did not respond to text messages or phone call nessage. Vrbo could not reach her either. I had to do refund with vrbo and try to find a hotel to take in 11 people for 2 nights near area and as we had an event planned. A very difficult situation

Great location, great home for a larger group. Reccomend highly. Perfect location to get into the center of town and plan your time there. Also appreciated the story shared by the family. It was very sentimental to feel included into the house's history.
