Our stay was wonderful, probably the best hotel we stayed in during our 11 nights in Japan. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the staff was friendly. The bar was a nice feature when coming back from a long day of exploring. The onsen was also lovely, I went around dinner time and I was the only one there. Would definitely recommend to others, I don’t have anything negative to comment on about this property!

Excellent hotel very central in Kyoto. Recently renovated and sparkling clean. The hotel is very stylish and calm. The room was spacious and very comfortable. The onsen was fabulous and relaxing with a real spa feel. There are two onsens (men/women) so accessible at all times during the opening hours, unlike many other hotels in Japan which alternate the times that men and women can use the onsen. There is also a small but well equipped gym on the same floor as yhe onsen. We had some drinks at the bar - very good cocktails! Thoroughly recommend this hotel and would choose to come back again in the future.

Many restaurants are nearby. Kyoto station is about a 15 minute taxi ride. The staff is excellent and helpful. The property is meticulously maintained. I would skip the restaurant for dinner. The food is tasty but the portions are small even by Japan standards. We did not eat breakfast there. We would stay here again without question.

Beautiful new property, near station. Lots of food options for all meals nearby. We had a junior suite and then moved to 2 rooms. Both were great. Don’t forget to try the onsen or book the private one, treat experience. Hotel check in takes some time but they give you a nice beverage while you are waiting. All rooms have toothbrushes, slippers and pjs. We had a nice fancy drink at their bar, they charge a cover fee but it was fine, it’s pretty pricy but a nice escape:

One of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at. The Mitsui Garden Sanjo Premier in Kyoto was spotless—everything was extremely clean and smelled amazing from the moment we walked in. The rooms were spacious, well-appointed, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The staff were incredibly attentive, polite, and respectful—top-notch service throughout. The hotel is located right in the heart of Kyoto, making it easy to walk to nearby shops, restaurants, and attractions. I’ll definitely be staying here again the next time I visit Kyoto. Highly recommend! Absolutely outstanding 10/10!

Absolutely loved our stay at the Mitsui Garden Sanjo Kyoto. The hotel was beautiful and our room with a washing machine was spacious. The location was absolutely wonderful as it was close to public transportation, shopping, and many restaurants. Highly recommend!

The onsen is in the basement, also windowless, with no open-air section or outside atmosphere. Breakfast was decent, with good quality, but surprisingly limited in Asian options—only udon was offered. We had a wonderful stay at this hotel - the room was spacious with a lovely bathroom, and the beds were very comfortable. It’s in easy walking distance to Nishiki Market, shopping, and multiple subway stations. Staff were lovely and it was nice to have some good pasta at the restaurant. The atmosphere of the hotel was great - very relaxing after a day out sightseeing.

I highly recommend this hotel. The hotel is fairly new with a great looking design and facilities. The service from the staff is impeccable. Bottom line, this hotel is exceptional quality at a great price point. Probably the best value for your money in Kyoto.

I was so amazed by this hotel that I actually extended my stay. Ohata and Kamide did an amazing job by the service they provided. Besides the excellent service provided by the staff, the LOCATION of the hotel is in the center of Everything yet tucked away from all of the noise. Rooms were great. Excellent bedding and comfortable mattress. (Which is very important) and lastly the ONSEN. After a long day of walking around the city it was great to come back and detox . I'll definitely recommend this hotel and I cannot wait to return. The staff at this location were the best.

We absolutely loved our stay here. It is the perfect location as it’s very walkable and in the heart of the best shopping area in Kyoto. The staff were super friendly and accommodating. We had to (and were very excited to) extend our stay by 1 night and they made it happen with no problems. My boyfriend ended up proposing in Kyoto and the concierge Chihiro helped me find a place to get my nails done same day and book a celebratory dinner! She even called ahead to make sure the restaurant knew and they gave us yummy dessert. When we checked out, the hotel staff had a present waiting for us. We ended up shipping our bags to our next destination too which was super easy with their help. Overall, such a fantastic experience.

All staff were polite, friendly, and professional. Man who ran breakfast buffet was excellent. Bartender was excellent. Man who served at the restaurant was excellent. Perfect location for visiting Kyoto. A few minutes down to the market area, where there are loads of restaurants, etc and very easy access to transport or walking to other areas. The hotel was lovely and modern, but keeping the ‘Japanese’ feel. We really enjoyed our stay there and would highly recommend. The public bath was lovely and very quiet whenever we used it, and it was very useful having a laundry room available too.

We stayed for 2 nights: our rooms are very quiet, the AC in the rooms are also very quiet. It seems the Japanese hotels are able to manage their air vents much better than most American hotels. The showers are very very good, bed sheets and pillows are comfortable. WiFi is fast. There's 1 thing I would like the hotel to improve: the breakfast leaves a lot to be desired: they obviously try to cater to the white people, but bakeries taste all stale, even the bread on their made to order avocado toast tastes like Safeway bread that expired a week ago. One waiter speaks English, but was curt, rude, unhelpful. Coffee was similar to pot coffee in a 2 star American hotel.

We love this Hotel❤️ Friendly staff, The breakfast is amazing i love the cheese they serve is made right there. Laundry coin and some rooms has a option of a washer/dryer machine. Close by walk to the market. Fantastic!!!
