We really enjoyed our stay. The location right on the lake was amazing. The host provided kayaks, floaties, and a paddleboard. The interior was pretty cozy. The view from the 1st floor was amazing.

We thoroughly enjoyed our Labor Day Weekend at this property. It had plenty of room for the five of us, was well appointed and the location on the pond was awesome! As someone who doesn't like heat & humidity, I was concerned with the lack of air conditioning. But, the combination of a breeze coming off the water and through the windows, along with the celling fans and cool nights made the house comfortable. We enjoyed using the kayaks and float tubes, as well fishing off of the dock. The fire pit made for enjoyable nights by the water. Heidi was a wonderful host and gave us good recommendations for birthday dinner reservations (Krista's in Cornish).

We loved our stay at this beautiful property! The house was cozy, clean, and incredibly well-stocked with kitchen supplies, which made cooking all our meals a breeze. We enjoyed eating outside at the picnic tables, taking in the peaceful surroundings.The pond was the highlight of our trip—so serene and perfect for swimming and kayaking. The shallow areas are great for little ones to splash around safely. Evenings were enjoyed by the fire pit, where we roasted marshmallows and made s'mores.The owners were wonderful—friendly, helpful, and quick to respond to any questions. I rented the house with a group of moms for a weekend. The house was perfect. It was very clean and organized. It had everything we needed. The open kitchen/living room area gave us enough room to congregate inside. We didn’t even turn on the TV because we spent our days outside in the beautiful weather. The gas grill and fire pit were great. Heidi was very responsive with messages. We plan to rent it again next year. Thank you.

My family lived in Shapleigh for some years. Since moving away, I return often to visit those who are still in the area. I've stayed at Granny Kent off and on since 1993. The pond has remained stable, clean, and family friendly. This particular property is ideally set on a small piece of sandy bottomed beach with a shallow entry point. The toys provided (boats, floats, etc.) were all usable and suited to several levels of expertise. The property owner was friendly and welcoming. There were several rainy days, but we had fun and would come back.

This cottage is right on the water! So beautiful waking up to the serene beauty of Granny Kent Pond! How is well equipped with everything you need. Bathroom is small but manageable. Beds were comfortable. Didn’t find much to locally but we were there for a wedding. We went out on the peddle boat and enjoyed a fire in the fire pit. Might want to keep some wood covered so it stays dry. It rained the day we came. Highly recommend this cottage. Owners very responsive.

Summer Family Vacation Week! House was absolutely perfect for a family of 4 with 2 small dogs and room to spare. Really nice neighbors and neighborhood… we had plenty to do around Maine for the week and having fun in the lake with ALL of the water activities including paddle boards, kayaks, a row boat, tubes, and more. We enjoyed fishing in the lake and our nightly fires too. It was exactly the stay we wanted and the house has everything you need. Great house, great owners, great price. Highly recommend.

We spent a few days at this lake home to relax and celebrate my birthday. We had a wonderful time and we were so happy to be able to bring my dog along with us. The house is clean and very well equipped. The beds are super comfortable. The yard has all the comforts of home and more. The neighbors are close by but they are very nice and pleasant to chat with. I'd love to see the hammock restrung, but other than that everything was perfect. I highly recommend this property.

The location, neighborhood, and pond were beautiful. We enjoyed all of the water activities like fishing, paddleboarding, swimming, etc.and appreciated the rowboat. The house was not as clean as we would have liked. The amount of dust and cobwebs in most rooms was excessive. Not sure if it was an oversight by the cleaners but vacuuming corners, baseboards and curtains is greatly needed! The kitchen could use a little updating by providing a few more pots and pans that guests could use. The one and only large pot was so badly burnt, we couldn't use it. The food items in the cabinets expired years ago and probably should have been discarded some time ago. Overall, a comfortable stay and we did enjoy our time there.

This was a perfect setting to be together with my family! The location was ideal and the cottage was so clean! Very impressed with the new paint and attention to detail.Neighbors are friendly, dogs included. I believe this is the best way to spend quality time relaxing in a quiet area located only 1h away from home!Thank you for being such attentive hosts!

My friends and I went to this beautiful getaway for our friends wedding. It was a great location, easy to drive to, and so many amenities available for you. Our only complaint was that we felt the house could have used a cleaning and a change of sheets the day before to ensure its cleanliness. We had some sheets that appeared stained and dusty with, perhaps, pet dander. Additionally, thw floors were very dusty/dirty. Our socks were covered. Beautiful, welcoming, comfortable, but dusty.

Everything we expected, house was fully stocked with all the essentials, like plenty of towels! Only our family of 4 slept here but the house could absolutely hold a handful more and still be very comfortable! We had guest visit for the day to celebrate fathers day and had plenty of room. My only suggestion for the house is to possibly add a small TV to each of the bedrooms upstairs. The basement also has so much potential maybe add a rug and card table. Host was amazing quick with replies, and very helpful with all my questions. Thank you! René, Dustin, Emma, Zachary

The place was clean, nice, cute. Even a little welcome gift was waiting for us. The bathroom is very tiny but worked well. It’s too bad one can’t access the lower bathroom from the outside. It would have helped as my brother has bad knees. But, if that’s all I can say about improvement possibilities that’s pretty darn good!

This house sits on a beautiful lake with gorgeous views from the living room and upstairs. Even though it was raining all day Saturday of our weekend away, we enjoyed our stay and took advantage of the kitchen and comfy couch. It was great to bring our dog, too - he had a great time.

We thoroughly enjoyed our Labor Day Weekend at this property. It had plenty of room for the five of us, was well appointed and the location on the pond was awesome! As someone who doesn't like heat & humidity, I was concerned with the lack of air conditioning. But, the combination of a breeze coming off the water and through the windows, along with the celling fans and cool nights made the house comfortable. We enjoyed using the kayaks and float tubes, as well fishing off of the dock. The fire pit made for enjoyable nights by the water. Heidi was a wonderful host and gave us good recommendations for birthday dinner reservations (Krista's in Cornish).

We loved our stay at this beautiful property! The house was cozy, clean, and incredibly well-stocked with kitchen supplies, which made cooking all our meals a breeze. We enjoyed eating outside at the picnic tables, taking in the peaceful surroundings.The pond was the highlight of our trip—so serene and perfect for swimming and kayaking. The shallow areas are great for little ones to splash around safely. Evenings were enjoyed by the fire pit, where we roasted marshmallows and made s'mores.The owners were wonderful—friendly, helpful, and quick to respond to any questions. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would love to return in the future. Highly recommend this gem for families or anyone looking for a relaxing getaway!

Everything we expected, house was fully stocked with all the essentials, like plenty of towels! Only our family of 4 slept here but the house could absolutely hold a handful more and still be very comfortable! We had guest visit for the day to celebrate fathers day and had plenty of room. My only suggestion for the house is to possibly add a small TV to each of the bedrooms upstairs. The basement also has so much potential maybe add a rug and card table. Host was amazing quick with replies, and very helpful with all my questions. Thank you! René, Dustin, Emma, Zachary

This was a perfect setting to be together with my family! The location was ideal and the cottage was so clean! Very impressed with the new paint and attention to detail.Neighbors are friendly, dogs included. I believe this is the best way to spend quality time relaxing in a quiet area located only 1h away from home!Thank you for being such attentive hosts!

The property was amazing.... the house was a great size to accommodate our family ... views are incredible. The outside space iz where we spent a our time.. It did not disappoint, yard space to play, so many choices in boats and floats( we used them all). We also enjoyed fishing off the dock and from boats catching so many fish including 2.6 lb Bass! The hosts were very responsive as well. We've spent the past few years fostering with virtually no vacations.. this place was a perfect reprieve and gave us much needed fun and relaxation.

I rented the house with a group of moms for a weekend. The house was perfect. It was very clean and organized. It had everything we needed. The open kitchen/living room area gave us enough room to congregate inside. We didn’t even turn on the TV because we spent our days outside in the beautiful weather. The gas grill and fire pit were great. Heidi was very responsive with messages. We plan to rent it again next year. Thank you.

My family lived in Shapleigh for some years. Since moving away, I return often to visit those who are still in the area. I've stayed at Granny Kent off and on since 1993. The pond has remained stable, clean, and family friendly. This particular property is ideally set on a small piece of sandy bottomed beach with a shallow entry point. The toys provided (boats, floats, etc.) were all usable and suited to several levels of expertise. The property owner was friendly and welcoming. There were several rainy days, but we had fun and would come back.

Summer Family Vacation Week! House was absolutely perfect for a family of 4 with 2 small dogs and room to spare. Really nice neighbors and neighborhood… we had plenty to do around Maine for the week and having fun in the lake with ALL of the water activities including paddle boards, kayaks, a row boat, tubes, and more. We enjoyed fishing in the lake and our nightly fires too. It was exactly the stay we wanted and the house has everything you need. Great house, great owners, great price. Highly recommend.

We really enjoyed our stay. The location right on the lake was amazing. The host provided kayaks, floaties, and a paddleboard. The interior was pretty cozy. The view from the 1st floor was amazing.

This cottage is right on the water! So beautiful waking up to the serene beauty of Granny Kent Pond! How is well equipped with everything you need. Bathroom is small but manageable. Beds were comfortable. Didn’t find much to locally but we were there for a wedding. We went out on the peddle boat and enjoyed a fire in the fire pit. Might want to keep some wood covered so it stays dry. It rained the day we came. Highly recommend this cottage. Owners very responsive.

We have stayed at many VRBO properties and this was at the very top. The location was great (Right on the water). Very quiet with friendly neighbors.The property was very clean with everything we needed.The Hosts were exceptional and easy to get in touch with. We had a minor problem that they took care of immediately.We found our new summer get away with this property. We will definitely return.
