We had a two night stay here on a weekend trip to Sydney. We found the staff and service was friendly and helpful, rooms were clean, beds comfortable and despite being located above the beer garden and on a main road, the rooms were exceptionally quiet. The adjoining Queen rooms were a perfect option for us - with a passage door in between. Access to venue and rooms was via pin codes which made it super easy - no need to worry about keys. The food was great - a few vegetarian options which I appreciated. There's not a lot of alternative dining options in the immediate area - but a coffee shop located 100m up the road (didn't try this). Location was close enough to walk to Marrickville (25min) and a pretty cheap Uber fare to airport. Would happily stay here again :)

The property itself was good and served the purpose for my trip. The biggest downside is that the management (illegally) allow people to smoke inside the gaming room (we witnessed this personally), which means that even in the year 2025 - more than 20 years since smoking indoors was made illegal in Australia - the entire hotel stinks of smoke. Even upstairs in our room we could smell it. Definitely not something you expect anymore. Incredibly disappointing.

Great place to stay to get away from the usual Mascot airports. We had a great trivia night experience along with great food menu and specials. Great wine list.The rooms were very comfortable and great old nostalgia upstairs.

This wss a big surprise. We had a very welcoming staff member who was very helpful. There are stairs to the rooms but the staff member took our luggage upstairs for us. The room was spacious and very clean and comfortable. Although the bathroom was a shared one it was spotlessly clean and easy to use with plenty of soap etc. The room was quiet as well.

The hotel was fantastic! You can tell they really put in a lot of work to make the hotel presentable, up to date, and clean but also keep that historic charm. The rooms are on the second floor, above the bar scene, so you can hear the music and people socializing downstairs but it wasn’t loud enough that we didn’t sleep. We appreciated that there was an extra door with a security code so the public couldn’t get to the second floor unless they were renting a room. We would definitely stay here again.

We were welcomed and upgraded on arrival by a friendly member of staff, which we really appreciated after a long flight. The room, however, was extremely loud until 2:30am, meaning we had little to no sleep. We also weren't very keen on the area, and wouldn't recommend here for anything longer than a quick overnight stop. The room was nice, however: clean and cosy.

We had a great stay. Convenient and friendly. Great access to the airport and public transit. The rooms are above an active pub (open until 3 AM) so you can hear music and some pub activity— it was not terribly loud but it was there.

All interactions with the staff we very clear and timely. The booking was easy to do and 'adjust' as I had initially booked for the wrong night! Train was close, help organizing transport to the airport was wonderful. Just all 'round excellent service!

So many doors into the property and waiting to checkin while serving in the bottle shop there was no lift so dragging up bags was difficult. The music went until 3am and you could hear through the walls. Bed was super comfortable and the bathroom was close by.

I can't say enough about how wonderful Nat and the rest of the staff were during our stay. If we needed anything, Nat would make it happen. One thing I would request would be a microwave in the common area.

We chose to stay at the Tempe Hotel as it is handy to Enmore Theatre. Bus right outside the door or an inexpensive uber or cab ride away. Staff welcoming and helpful. Great pub bistro and a good pub atmosphere.

Bloody cracker of a place, that surprised me in presentation, affable and professional staff and close enough to the airport to be just a short taxi ride the next morning. I didnt mind the walk from the train station with our bags, but it could be a bit much for some, being uphill for a few blocks. But hey, on holidays you walk, so i was fine with it.

Room was clean and tidy. Staff was great. Area around seemed a bit run down but was great for a nights stay and was very reasonable.

Great hotel with sports bar on the ground floor. Recently refurbished, staff was excellent. Only downside is the location, there are no restaurants or shops or anything to do nearby.

Awesome stay at this property all amenities very good. Staff is friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Look forward to staying again. 30 min walk to international terminal.

We had a great stay. Convenient and friendly. Great access to the airport and public transit. The rooms are above an active pub (open until 3 AM) so you can hear music and some pub activity— it was not terribly loud but it was there.

Great older "Pub" Hotel. Large room, nice bathroom. Has a balcony which due to the busy main room it faced the front was glassed in with a table and two chairs. A public bus stop right outside.

The room was comfortable and spacious. The shared space had a wonderful espresso machine and a large fridge for storing leftovers. Also, the food in the restaurant downstairs was really excellent.

I can't say enough about how wonderful Nat and the rest of the staff were during our stay. If we needed anything, Nat would make it happen. One thing I would request would be a microwave in the common area.

Great place to stay to get away from the usual Mascot airports. We had a great trivia night experience along with great food menu and specials. Great wine list.The rooms were very comfortable and great old nostalgia upstairs.

The Hotel was a lovely restored and modernized classic Australian pub/hotel. The coffee/tea/biscuits in the Hotel commons were a treat. The beds were very comfortable. The Hotel staff were very accommodating and provided an extension cord since the outlets were not near the bed. All-in-all, a comfortable, clean, hotel with good service.

This is a nicely, renovated studio room, with a large king size bed, a nicely, refurbished, shower, and separate toilet. One recommendation would be to have a nightstand or some kind of drawers in which to put things. Nevertheless, it is nicely maintained, I would gladly stay again, and it is closely located to the Tempe train station, which can take you into the city in the central business district within a half hour, the staff are very kind and helpful.

1.the handbasin in the ensuite has a stuck plug. Water remained in the bowl for 4 days 2. No black tea in the outside area, only herbal tea 3 there was no hot water this morning on my last morning. Had to have a cold shower 4. I couldn’t change the temperature on the room airconditioner. 25 degrees was too hot for me.
