Hotel surpassed my expectation. It was nice. Right across the street from beach , parking was easy , front desk staff nice , room clean , bed comfortable. If people say bad about this place , they just hating . Im definitely using this place every time I'm in Galveston

What I didn't like was everyone gets a parking permit the time u check in .... Parking spots in front by ur door ... As told while checking 1 vehicle per room if u do not have a permit ur vehicle will get towed ....well that's a lie first night was good the 2nd night I took kids to get something to eat came back someone was in my spot when I went to office and complained the lady told me there's no assigned parking so I had to park on the next st over ..... That was bs there were 6 cars with our permits

Booked last minute. Great location across from sea wall. The bad no parking in front of your room. Room was very small. And basic place to sleep. I booked on line and they insist on a 50 cash fee for what?? This place is a place to sleep that's it. The bed was comfortable the staff was friendly. They do have coffee and small breakfast in the mornings.

The Econo Lodge was a simple and convenient place to stay in Galveston. We booked it for a 1 night before a cruise. It is right on the beach and walkable to many places to eat and hang out, including the Pleasure Pier. The room itself was very basic, not fancy, but a fine place to sleep. There aren’t any amenities, but the office did have coffee. The staff was nice and check in was easy. The bed was comfortable. At first our hot water didn’t work, luckily it was hot later in the night when we got back from being out. The window is like a fishbowl for everyone to see in so just close that curtain lol. The only other issue we had is the closest bar was right across from our room window; so pretty loud into the night with music and karaoke. Over all for a one night stay the location was great and it worked fine for our needs.

The big problems were 3 fold. One, the door lock was broken in that it took us minutes to force it open everytime we tried to get in, Two, no hot water, none, Three, for such a small property they should guarantee parking for people staying. We had to park away from our room because there were no parking spots. On the good side The bed was great and having ocean view was awesome.

Great value for the price, outstanding location, staff was very kind and flexible to allow a late checkout, parking right outside the rooms is very convenient. We will stay there again!

Employees were nice. Room was in great location right across from beach and walking distance to Pleasure Pier. The ac was cold. The beds were clean and comfortable. Ice machine was always working. The faucet seemed clogged because the water barely came out. We had to rinse toothbrushes and stuff in the tub. The TV lost signal and we couldn’t watch tv for 3 out of the 4 days there. The WiFi sucked and the door was SUPER hard to open (room111). They need to change the word “breakfast” to 2 in a pack mini muffins and 3 in a pack packaged donuts. Other than that, would probably stay there again!

There was only parking for one car per room and if you leave you lose your parking space. The room was way smaller than it looked in the picture. The noise from the traffic on the seawall was terrible and load. The staff was very nice though.

Dead bugs on window sill, walls and doors filthy, free breakfast was a joke, shower so gross that none of us used it. Refrigerator old and rusty. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT STAY HERE!

The room was moldy smelling, around the garbage can on the wall were huge stains and a very large bug was also on the wall. The door to the room from the outside would stick and you had to use brute force to open it. The only reason I stayed there (after checking for bedbugs, there were NONE in the room) was because I was exhausted from driving 18 hours. I have stayed at there before and it wasn’t as bad then.

I was attracted to the place because of its beautiful views and distance from the beach. I could look out my window from bed and enjoy the awesome beach view with waves rolling in. I was impressed by how clean they were. The place had been renovated, the beds were clean and comfortable as well as clean restrooms.

This place is nasty was checked into a dirty room! Bed was dirty dirty linen all in the shower toilet was nasty I stayed only because had no where else to go and was far away from home! Said to have breakfast on line and was a little Debbie snack! Nothing like what the picture look like the ac is falling out of the wall was a waste of money and the fact I had to pay that much to stay there is sad! But had no choice! Place need some major help! The lady at the front will say was very nice and apologized for everything and gave me what I needed to clean the room.

The room was very clean. The bed clean and very comfortable. It has a great location walking distance to the pier. Awesome bar "The poop deck" next door and tons of restaurants in walking distance. I could see the beach from my room. The breakfast was packaged products and easily transportable. The staff was super friendly and the price from hotels.com made it a deal u couldn't pass up

Nice staff. Door is 10 feet from major road and walking tourists. Noisy. Priced right. Directly across from the beach which is where you’ll be spending your time. Not fancy, basic room.

We got a great price and expectations were not high based on reviews. We ended up being happy with our deal. Pros: pretty clean, AWESOME location, comfy bed and clean towels, free parking. Cons: only 1 of the 2 rooms had an inside lock for security. The desk seemed surprised to hear this. TV did not work, didn't really need it but would have been a nice option. Our room did not get cleaned but I did go to the office to get clean towels. Doors were extremely difficult to open, when I mentioned this, they explained that they have tried new batteries, new locks, but the salt air is tough on the locks. Would I stay here again? Yes but only at a low price. Basically you get what you pay for.

When we arrived on Saturday May 17 we were informed there was no hot water in our rooms. It was frustrating that they hadn’t called us so we could make other arrangements, so I began looking into other hotels in the area. The front desk receptionist called the manager who spoke to me on the phone regarding options—we could carry our stuff over to the other building and use one of the showers that had hot water and he offered to refund me one hundred dollars of what we had paid for the 2 rooms. So we didn’t have to get another Uber and find another hotel, I agreed to that. The one hundred dollars has never been refunded. After I gave it a few weeks to see the refund and didn’t I have tried many times to call the number to Econo Lodge that is listed online. It rings about 10 times and then goes dead so I can’t leave a message. On our credit card charge from Econo Lodge, there is a phone number listed to call if there is an issue. However, the number listed goes to Red Roof Inn in Galveston.

Went to check in and no one was around for 12 minutes. Went to have continental break-fast the next morning and they only served individually wrapped Hostess snacks, water, juice, and lukewarm tea. Tried to check out the next morning (6:40) and everything was locked up and lights off. Called but kept getting hangups.
Went to check in and no one was around for 12 minutes. Went to have continental break-fast the next morning and they only served individually wrapped Hostess snacks, water, juice, and lukewarm tea. Tried to check out the next morning (6:40) and everything was locked up and lights off. Called but kept getting hangups.

When we arrived there was no one in the front office. I could hear someone SNORING in the back room. I rang the buzzer three times and knocked on door before she woke up. Finally got the room key and parked in front of room. The car beside us had been there awhile and had several flat tires. When we got into the room there was some kind of bug in sink. We left the key beside the tv and found another room at a different hotel.

The staff was amazing! They allowed us to check in an hour early which was very appreciated as we just drove 14 hours. It will be a place we pick again when we travel to galveston again.

Room was clean. Bed was awesome for a hotel mattress. Location is perfect. Even being right on Seawall Blvd, we couldn't hear a lot of road noise. AC was awesome and coooooold. Staff was friendly and helpful. Amber was in the office for check in when we arrived. She most definitely set the vibe for our trip. She was really personable and extremely helpful. She had no issue answering our touristy questions. Will definitely stay there the next time we go down to Galveston!

Great value for the price, outstanding location, staff was very kind and flexible to allow a late checkout, parking right outside the rooms is very convenient. We will stay there again!

Absolutely horrible!! I never leave bad reviews however this place left 6 kids and 2 adults stranded at 1am in the morning after guaranteeing as they were a 24hr checking and would be there when we arrived. We talked to a women 3 times the day of arrival to inform about flight delays, and transportation delays due to accidents and wheather. Thanks God for the hotel next door who woke up and helped us with a place to stay at a discount price. They also told us this hotel does this often to the clients and are horrible to deal with. I DO NOT RECOMMEND STAYING OR BOOKING THIS PLACE. STILL WAITING FOR A REFUND !!!

Nice staff. Door is 10 feet from major road and walking tourists. Noisy. Priced right. Directly across from the beach which is where you’ll be spending your time. Not fancy, basic room.

The Econo Lodge was a simple and convenient place to stay in Galveston. We booked it for a 1 night before a cruise. It is right on the beach and walkable to many places to eat and hang out, including the Pleasure Pier. The room itself was very basic, not fancy, but a fine place to sleep. There aren’t any amenities, but the office did have coffee. The staff was nice and check in was easy. The bed was comfortable. At first our hot water didn’t work, luckily it was hot later in the night when we got back from being out. The window is like a fishbowl for everyone to see in so just close that curtain lol. The only other issue we had is the closest bar was right across from our room window; so pretty loud into the night with music and karaoke. Over all for a one night stay the location was great and it worked fine for our needs.

Stay was great! Our room was facing the ocean! Check in was easy. We were able to sit outside our room, and watch all the excitement. We will stay here again!

There was only parking for one car per room and if you leave you lose your parking space. The room was way smaller than it looked in the picture. The noise from the traffic on the seawall was terrible and load. The staff was very nice though.

I like how close it was to the beach and the pier. There was no hot water and the complementary breakfast was just snacks and juice so not really a breakfast. But the staff members there were really nice.

The room we stayed in had no amenities, coffee pot, etc. The ceiling was bulging down, walls were messed up. Room did not have a fire alarm in it even though the wall mount was in place for it with capped wires inside the wall. Our stay was supposed to include a free breakfast (as advertised); however, breakfast was not avaliable. Cost was entirely too much for the lack of comfort, amenities, etc. We will never stay there again.

The facility was dirty. The trash from my room was never picked up. The towels were never replenished we had to go pick them up. They never picked up the dirty towels we had to put them out. The breakfast was sad nothing but coffee and donuts. There was no rod in our room to hang our clothes on. Will not go back or recommend.

Soooo… the pictures on the website must have been taken when the property was first built because it was pretty run down. However, the location is great. Walking distance to Dolphin World and different eateries. If you want to walk straight across to the beach access, you’d have to jaywalk. The night person who checked us in (lady) was super nice. If you’re looking for budget friendly with no frills but access to all the things, this is a good deal. Breakfast was prepackaged stuff. No hot breakfast.

Employees were nice. Room was in great location right across from beach and walking distance to Pleasure Pier. The ac was cold. The beds were clean and comfortable. Ice machine was always working. The faucet seemed clogged because the water barely came out. We had to rinse toothbrushes and stuff in the tub. The TV lost signal and we couldn’t watch tv for 3 out of the 4 days there. The WiFi sucked and the door was SUPER hard to open (room111). They need to change the word “breakfast” to 2 in a pack mini muffins and 3 in a pack packaged donuts. Other than that, would probably stay there again!

The first room we had the floor was absolutely filthy and had not been washed in ages there was a dead water bug on the floor there was sand in the sheets and I had not been to the beach and there was a bug crawling across the comforter. We were switched to a second room which was not much better the lamp beside the bed did not work the lamp shade was totally stained there was holes all in the walls dirt all over the floor dirt all over the walls the refrigerator was totally rusted save your money go somewhere else this place is absolutely disgusting

My husband and I always stay at this Lil motel when we come to Galveston it might not be the best of the best but it’s the best for us because basically all we do is sleep and shower there we’re gone most of the other time. It’s great for a couple right across from the seawall right down from pleasure pier plenty of food choices around so for the people that has to have something fancy it’s not for you. But it’s perfect for my husband and I.

The room was extremely small the beds are extremely small sheets and towels were dirty , trash wash over flowing and going everywhere in the parking lot, parking was absolutely absurd, spots are way to close together, WiFi would not connect, tv service was hardly working, Says it offered free breakfast but all you get is a snack cake and apple juice or coffee The shower curtain rod was broke cause the curtain not to stay closed, The toilet was leaking, the refrigerator was frozen so it wasn’t keeping anything cold, The phone in the room was not working
