Motel 6-Brunswick, GA

This motel is in bad shape, looks neglected, and it does not help that it is located adjacent to an abandoned property. The bath/shower plumbing does not work well, the bed had no decorative top spread, the towels looked dirty (one was very discolored). Also, there was no shampoo. Probably the worst Motel 6 I've stayed at.

I would like to start this off by saying the staff who checked us in and out was so friendly. This review has nothing to do with them. Places are understaffed, overworked, and underpaid right now and I do not want them to suffer because of this review. This property is DESPICABLE. The roof is literally caving in. When I unlocked my door and opened it the first thing I saw was a roach running across the floor in front of me. The first two light switches I flipped didn’t work. I finally found that the two in between the beds did. The fleece blankets had burns on them and some sort of sticky pink stuff all over them so they were definitely not clean. Thank god the sheets smelled/looked clean because we had just driven for hours and it was almost 11pm and we had a child and 2 dogs with us. There was a crack head very obviously looking for her crack rock she dropped out in the parking lot…stumbling around with her gear down walking in front of cars driving around. I paid for a non-smoking room and got a room with the smoke alarm ripped out of the wall and smelling like a dive bar. There was so much trash and cigarette butts in the parking lot I had to pick my puppy up to keep her from eating them and dying. Man out in the parking lot when we woke up stumbling around feeding an entire flock of seagulls an entire pizza like seagull Jesus. The sink was completely clogged so we had to use a bottle of water to brush our teeth. Couldn’t take a shower because it was so disgusting.

Below basic. Floor was so dirty. Stopped and got Clorox wipes before touching anything. Shower was gross and stained. Riff-raff always loitering around. Bed was at least comfortable

This place was horrible. The room smelled like cigarettes, pot and mildew. The comforters on the bed had stained and patches the bathroom- the tub was black from mold and scratches and god knows what else and the top of the toilets wasn’t even on properly. We stayed less than 2 minutes and returned the key and got a refund. People hanging out in the parking lot. Just not a good scene . Should have known better when the door was locked to office and you had to speak to the office person through a small window like you find at a train station ticket window

Decent room, always stay at Motel 6 when possible. Car right up front, very desirable layout. 2 star motels offer the best value for a single night overstay. Paid cash and saved 9$ of reservation price!

Pulling up to parking spot across from the pool I notice huge holes in the roof and a good bit of unsavory characters walking around. Upon entering motel room it smelled like marijuana and had dirty rings in bath tub. I returned to checkin and got my money back, I ended up staying at a different motel. I wouldn't suggest staying here unless your desperate. I've always stayed at Motel 6 anywhere I travel but this one in Brunswick Ga is not the same as others that's for sure.

It was a very nasty hotel the rooms where not clean had water in our floor. Went do to the office and the lady gave me another key to look at another room it was just as nasty. My husband went down after me and asked for more towels and the air conditioner wasn't working they had to flip the breaker back on. The man told us to just leave because was complaining bout the room. The pictures on y'all site does not look like there rooms false advertising.my husband went and got more towels cuz we only had 1 in the room and some cleaning stuff to clean the room. The lady gave him extra sheets and towels and some cleaning stuff. I cleaned my room. I took pictures and a video. I looks like they mite go in and change the sheets only in the rooms

Upon arriving to the property, the man up front was extremely friendly. However, upon checking into our room, we initially noticed that it looked like the only cleaning done, was changing the sheets. Later that night, my husband went to use the bathroom. When he shut the door, he noticed large amounts of what looked like blood, on 3/4 walls, the door, the floor, and the baseboards. The tub was brown/black, and there was visible, dried soap running down the walls of it, and we weren’t left any towels even if we’d wanted to shower in that mess. We went to the office, and somebody else was working, and not only did they act like they didn’t even believe us, but they wouldn’t even come look at it, provide me with gloves so I could clean it myself, and even refused to swap our room, claiming they had no other rooms available. There were SEVERAL visible rooms open. I’ve never had a stay at this location quite like this. This is my usual hotel, every time I’m in town, but I don’t think I’ll be back.

Room wasn't clean tub was very dirty everybody smoking weed with big pitbulls in their rooms i didn't even bother to unpack i left immediately

Was dirty. Hadn’t been cleaned. Had two dead roaches. Burnt Holes in the covers. Hairs on the bed. We walked in and walked out. Yes you get what you pay for. We were just passing through GA and I would sleep in my car before that bed.

The Motel 6 was very filthy bathtub has wholes in it, blood on the walls rtc!!!!

There were roaches! Light was out above the bathroom sink, door latch was broken and the bathtub was clogged.

Walked into the room roaches dead on the floor. Went to bathroom roaches crawling around. Got up next day to get a shower no hot water. Was told had to leave it running for about 10 minutes. Also had no bathing linens towels, wash cloths or anything. I actually took a complete shower and left it running while I went to the front office I’m as far in the back as possible and never had hot water. Was told there was nothing they could do about it

Booked over a long weekend and few options were available. Check in was pleasant and the attendant was helpful. Hotel was quite run down and needs a thorough cleaning. Sheets were clean but blankets and bedspread had cigarette burns. Attemps to upgrade but smells of cigarettes and other smoke. My friend was wolken up by loud and constant banging on neigbouring doors at 3am. My door wouldn't lock but at least the deadbolt worked.

Bathtub Poor and TV got only on channel tried to call front desk for a fix no answer.

Bathroom needs some serious help. Staff was helpful and the bed was comfortable. TV and mini fridge were operable.

This room was very run down. TV didn’t work and were told to watch on your phone… spent alot of $ there over the past 2-3 weeks… other rooms were much better!

First room tv was broke. Moved me to another room and it had a water leak no one came to fix.

The first room assigned was mildewed, smelled horrible and had ripped bedding. The second room reeked of smoke. I will say however that the attendant was very helpful to reassign rooms and agree to a refund from Expedia.

The price was certainly good, but you get what you paid for. Hole in bathroom wall. There are no lamps in the room; just one large florescent on the wall. You can't read anywhere.

Check-in was effortless. Desk clerk polite and efficient.

I was not able to check in and there were people on property asking for cash and told me to leave

They threatened to kick us out over our Alzheimer's mother needing new bedding two nights in a row on top of the fact that they have cockroaches in both rooms we had it was horrible the people were rude and the floor is even leaking under the toilets water stuff was and we told them and they said just put a towel under the door to keep the bugs out

The biggest issue was booking a smoking room on Expedia only to be told upon arrival that the smoking rooms had been filled for weeks. There were no smoking rooms and to some, that may not seem like an issue How would you feel to want non-smoking and be told upon arrival that what you searched and paid for does not exist and you have no choice because of cost but to stay in that room? The attendee was marvelous with customer service and the explanation that the rooms had filled over weeks prior and was very accommodating, but the app and the destination should really be on the same page.
