Barclay Hotel Atlanta Downtown

The beds were comfortable and everything was clean. Pleasantly surprised by the breakfast! Biscuits and gravy, sausage and eggs, waffles, fruit, yogurt… it was so good! The parking was super convenient and with the hotel’s validation sticker, you will not find cheaper parking in the city! The location of the hotel was so close to everything we did that we just walked everywhere. Concerning the AC in the room…. other reviews worried me bc as a perimenopausal woman, I already run hot, so I really need my room to be cool! When I first walked in, I was concerned that it wasn’t cold enough, but I will say I did not get too hot overnight. And I even brought my own fan just in case, but I never used it. This was my first time staying at Barclay, but anytime I need to come to ATL for a concert or anything else, this will be my go to!

It is an older hotel but has been kept up pretty well. Plenty of parking across the road which is $18 after validation. For downtown Atlanta you won’t find better for the price. Decent full breakfast 6-9.30

PARKING IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE PRICE. I had to pay $18 extra to park the car. This is an old hotel, the elevator looked like was gonna break all the time. The air conditioner in the room was not working properly and breakfast was not good. I gave 2 stars 'cause staff was frindly.

I was in town for a convention and wanted something close to the GWCC. This was a nice place to stay, the rooms were clean as well as the bathroom. The staff was friendly and helpful and was parking was right across the street. Now this is not a complaint just letting you know if you have a truck you will be able to get in to the parking garage but moving up and down the levels are a tight fit but I made it.

Some of the vending machines did not work and none of them had Diet Coke.

The only good thing about the hotel is that it is in walking distance (about a third of a mile from the Mercedes Benz Dome and State Farm Arena). The hotel is old and the facilities need desperate repair and updates. The satellite television didn\'t work or work right most of time although it wasn\'t raining. I arrived late due to circumstances out of my control. The night clerk refused to let me check into my room because it was after hours and said to come back after 7 am. So, my wife and I had to find a place to park and sleep in my car with my bladder about to burst after driving about nine hours. When I asked the manager about parking my car (one of my search items), she firmly told me "You can park where ever you want to park, but the hotel doesn\'t include parking." She referred me to a garage nearby that she said the hotel partnered with that I could park at for $18 daily and didn\'t give me any details about how to even get that rate. The elevator was noisy and sounded worse than the elevator in the St. Louis Arch. It vibrated bad and sounded like it was about to break down. As fate would have it, my room was near the elevator, and I could hear the noisy thing all night. The only bright thing about the hotel was an older I assume janitor who took my room keys as I was trying to check out. He asked me if I parked in the recommended garage. I told him that I did. He opened a drawer and gave me a sticker to validate my parking, which the manager could have done.

The staff was very nice. I was in a huge hurry to get to an event or I would have asked for the room I'd actually booked. I was supposed to have a king, but I got two queen beds instead. The sheets had stains. The housekeeping wasn't too great. Parking was in the garage across the street, but it was very easy to park and validate your parking as well.

The hotel is pretty run down. The elevators definitely need updating. The stairs do not provide an exit. The ice machine only works on two floors. The water comes out brown. But the staff is very nice! The bed is clean and comfy. And it’s reasonably priced for the area

Front desk staff was fantastic. The elevator felt like a death trap. Doors wouldn't stay open, and didn't land on the floor right, had to wait for ot to lower. One member of staff pushed his way on with it full and wouldn't let us exit the elevator until he got to HIS floor and left. The room had a view of a parking garage wall. The room itself smelled badly, the carpet is out dated, the shower had mold in the grout, the sheets were scratchy. All in all there were no worries about any type of bug because even roaches wouldn't stay there! Oh...the shampoo and conditioner were okay.

Parking was pretty horrible. Only stay here if you dont have a car

Location is great, the staff was helpful and very nice. My room smelled moldy and the rug felt moist. There is rust everywhere.

I think for the amount you pay for, this is a great budget friendly option. I’ve stayed at a lot of expensive hotels but decided to keep it cheap this time while sharing with a friend and I had to constantly remind myself that based on what I paid, this is what I paid for and I shouldn’t expect too much . I think the beds were a bit springy but still comfortable. Upon entering the bathroom, I noticed hair was still on the floor from previous people which was a bit gross. I felt like the room was cool enough that I didn’t need to use their portable air con which was fine. We had an issue where someone entered our room and front desk said they made a mistake with the keycards or something. Our keycards would also lose charge multiple times despite not being next to our phones, which was a bit annoying. Not having a fridge also sucked but it wasn’t a deal breaker. Unfortunately our floors ice machine, along with multiple other floors, had broken ice machines. It was little things that bugged me but I remind myself this is what I paid for , which was not much at all. Overall, I think this is still a good option if you’re looking for a cheap stay because overall it was still decent.

The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. Lobby was spotless and so was the breakfast area. It’s an older hotel, so there’s some normal wear and tear, but you can tell they take pride in their building and we really enjoyed our stay. Excellent location and parking was a breeze.

We checked in and went to the room to find stained chairs, hair in the shower and visibly dirty sheets. Front desk personnel offered no solution to us. Carpets are worn and elevator makes some concerning noise. Front desk personnel were not helpful, likely because they didn’t have any clean decent rooms. I get it’s a 2star hotel but I would’ve sooner slept in the car. We went to the Home2Suites downtown. Check them out.

The room was clean. No refrigerator or microwave in the room, although, there was a coffee machine. And there was a balcony sliding door to access a mini-balcony from the room but it wasn’t accessible the door was locked. It seems like people that have stayed in the past had attempted to open so the sliding door wasn’t lined up. So you heard outside noise and the room took forever to get cool during our stay towards the end-of-summer. The bathroom is dated. Tile floor was stained or has mold growing (see picture). The continental breakfast was mid and super packed right at end of break.

The room was completely dirty, the bed sheets had stains on them. The bathroom had hair all over the place and it was not cleaned properly. There were bodily fluid stains and excrement stains on the bed. Management was nonexistent. Front desk worker disappeared and never came back.

Old and run down. Def saw roaches.

Bathroom was filthy. The location is perfect for going to game at the State Farm center and Mercedes stadium. Close to lots of restaurants.

Hotel is old, portable AC unit in the room vented out a window. Bed was hard. TV initially didn’t work. Location is within reasonable walking distance of downtown attractions.

The toilet at one time overflowed. There was no control of temperature in the room. They set up some temperature and everyone has to live in that temperature. No a/c use option for cooling. I booked room with queen size bed however i received a double bed. There was very slow internet connection in the room. Terrible

The good the bad and the ugly, starting with the good, the location is amazing and the rooms are fairly spacious, they come with a nice bathtub and the beds are pretty comfortable. The Barclay was the cheapest hotel I could find in downtown Atlanta so I wasn't expecting too much, and the rooms were acceptable and the location was great. The bad, staff were very rude and unhelpful, the breakfast tasted like school cafeteria food, we were urged to check out hours before check out time, the drain in the shower/tub was full of hair from a previous guest. The ugly, the worst part, the air conditioner in my room was broken, when I told the staff they didn't care at all, just wrote down a note to fix it at some point and that's all. Overall, if you're looking for a cheap hotel in downtown Atlanta The Barclay isn't a bad option, especially if you get a room with working AC, but it's nothing more than that.

Quite, but under construction. No microwave or fridge in rooms. No blankets either. Its like staying at a friends house, so bring your own stuff

Location is perfect for any business in downtown Atlanta. Rooms are clean but very basic and are in need of an upgrade. Ventilation system is non-existent. I could see that being a problem during summer months. Staff is professional and polite and helpful. Complimentary breakfast was great!

The TV turned on but the screen was blank. Channels were listed but nothing showed. Aside from that, the place was fine. It is EXTREMELY dated but we were in the room for a total of about 6 hrs. We came down for a quick trip to watch the UFC fights. The staff was great and very nice to speak with. The breakfast was great and the place was clean. If you wanna save money and are in town for a quick overnight/weekend trip, this place is ideal. You're going to be in a room that looks like 1999 but the beds are clean and comfortable. The staff were as nice as could be. Breakfast was hot and tasted good. Compared to paying $200 a night including parking, i will stay here every single time.

And there was a balcony sliding door to access a mini-balcony from the room but it wasn’t accessible the door was locked. It seems like people that have stayed in the past had attempted to open so the sliding door wasn’t lined up. So you heard outside noise and the room took forever to get cool during our stay towards the end-of-summer. The bathroom is dated. Tile floor was stained or has mold growing (see picture). The continental breakfast was mid and super packed right at end of break.

I stayed at the hotel for 4 days only, but still - it was so comfy! The services and the front desk were excellent!!! Would definitely come back!

This is an older hotel in downtown Atlanta. We found it to be walkable to the Mercedes-Benz Stadium. This hotel is definitely not upscale, but it was clean and I felt very safe. The front desk staff were amazing!

The staff is by far the best I’ve experienced in ATL in quite some time!! Very helpful, very knowledgeable, were giving guests appropriate amount of attention, but moving everyone through in a quick manner. The breakfast was very good! Parking isn’t on site but is just across the street, very easy in and out!

When I arrived at the hotel to check in I was informed that there was someone that was going to check to see what rooms were available. No one came down to inform the front desk and I waited close to an hour to check in

The front desk staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. It was our 1st trip to atlanta and she offered us suggestions on placea to eat and things to do.

The staff was super friendly and accommodating. We had an issue with the heat. The manager went out and bought heaters for those of us that were having the heat problems. They made sure to give us extra blankets to stay warm and we did.

The pictures that are featured have to be from when the hotel first opened. The curtains have holes in them. The water systems have no real pressure causing toilets to get clogged often. Phone in room did not work so had to use cell phone to call downstairs. When explaining the toilet was clogged they told us to go in the hallway and find a plunger and fix the toilet ourselves! No one hardly at front desk and when you call them with the emergency red phone on wall no one answers either. 4 am and in the lobby hotel staff screaming as if being murdered. DO NOT STAY HERE!

Our car was broken into in the properties parking lot and the lot that was “under 24 hour surveillance” only has their cameras on during the day. Hotel had very rude staff and refused to even give me a little bit of the price of my room back. I did not feel safe staying there and we went home. The lobby was clean but had an odor.

Amazing service with zero attitude. Yes the carpet and hotel is older but the maintenance and staff try to make sure you have a 100% great stay. The location is great near both event arenas. You can always take the Marta. No real issues honestly. Parking is across the street but they validate and reduce the price through the hotel.

Staff are very helpful -Shae & Esther made our 5-day stay comfortable…easy to catch a train, my preferred was Peachtree Street station (less than 5 minutes) , 5 to 10 minutes walk on Luckie St to Olympic Park/ Aquarium….

10-15 minutes walk to the Georgia Aquarium. The hotel definitely needs a facelift because it gives the feeling of old and outdated.

It’s a very “you get what you pay for”. We paid $150, for a 2 bed room. There was almost no water pressure in the showers, the elevator sounded like it was going to break every time you go up/down, there were handprints on the wall. The beds were comfy and the breakfast was good! Front desk staff was very friendly and polite!

The Indian Restaurant across the street had amazing food. There was also a diner down the street with hood food. The daily breakfast at Barclay was a good way to start the day. The beds were comfortable. I liked that many places I wanted to go were walking distance

I like the location and the price point is very good. The rooms are dated and would normally rate the hotel a 2. Not in a bad sense, just based on room quality. But I gave it a much higher rating. The staff, specifically Keisha was very helpful. Everyone was so helpful. The breakfast was ok. Biscuit and gravy, scrambled eggs, sausage, waffles and toast. I do wish they had orange juice or something other than water. Last day the gravy almost ran out, so needed replacing. I also with they had instant oatmeal or something. The Marta is a bout 7 minute walk. It has dining around it and is close to Georgia World Congress, aquarium and World of Coca Cola.
