Stone Creek Inn

Lots of heat in the room, the air conditioning automatically turned off and did not let the temperature drop, very hot for the accommodation in summer.

This is an old property but my room was refurbished - new sinks, counters, tile flooring, freshly painted, clean white linens, comfortable beds, new microwave and small fridge. Room was clean - I wore socks on the bare floor and they were clean!! Staff was helpful. Commercial location on busy street. Starbucks across the street, Walmart 1/2 mile away and the most amazing store next to Walmart - Pete’s fresh produce - a must see. Only problem was the WiFi that went on and off - a lot off - tv was a big problem and terrible selection of local stations. For the price, this was a nice deal but definitely not 5 star!!

We had a slight issue with theTV but Kate resolved in no time. She was very patience with the my questions, very friendly and helpful. Her demeanor is of great customer service

TV didn't work-turned on but nothing after that. Went to office 3 times-tried 2 more remotes. After third one, the office person came to my room. She tried a few things but was unsuccessful. She told me give her 10 minutes, she would call someone. This is now about an hour after check in. I hadn't unpacked. She said she could give me another room but said the other one wasn't "new". Not sure what that meant. This was now 11:14 pm. No one showed up or called me so I called the front desk a few minutes after midnight. It was a different person on a new shift. She had been told about the tv but said it was too late for someone to come out. Would have been helpful to know that. Before I would use the toilet I had to flush it twice to get rid of whatever matter was floating in it. In the morning, I took a shower. No tub, a small 2-3 inch "curb" along the shower. I was standing in water; I didn't think it went over the "curb" but the floor was covred with water. I did have the shower curtain properly placed. I had my shoes near the door, they were wet. The water went out into the are near the sink outside the bathroom. I dried my feet before getting out of the shower but had to step on the wet floor. When I got to the bed and took the towel to dry my feet, the bottom of my feet were black so I had to dirty the towel. There was no bathmat. There were 2 washclothes, 2 bath towels (I used one for my hair), and one hand towel. Not sure why 2 of the others and only one hand towel.

The rooms are nasty. The bedding has stains reeks of weed. The bathtub and the shower is so old and molded. I wouldn’t dare step foot in it. They had bedbugs. I could feel things on me at night and then I woke up and went in the bathroom and had bite marks and foun little bugs crawling. It was absolutely disgusting. The whole place needs to be exterminating needs to be cleaned.

Bed was noisy, overall cleanliness of the room had a lot to be desired. Should not have dirty feet after taking a shower and walking across the floor my son also stayed there and had cockroaches in his room only good thing about the place was the staff in the office. Do yourself a favor and take a pass on the Stone Creek Inn.

The room I got was renovated and there was plenty of stores, restaurants, etc. What I didn’t like was that it wasn’t very clean they definitely need help with cleanliness.

I don’t even know where to begin. This hotel was by far one of the dirtiest, most unkempt places I’ve ever stayed—and I travel frequently. The moment I walked into the room, I was hit with a foul, musty odor that made me question when the room was last cleaned. The floors were sticky, and there were visible stains on the carpet and bedding. I pulled back the sheets and found hair—not mine—and what looked like crumbs or dirt in the bed. Completely unacceptable. The bathroom was just as bad. The toilet had not been cleaned properly, and there was mold growing in the shower tiles. The towels were stained and smelled like mildew, and the sink had toothpaste residue from the previous guest. I even found trash left in drawers and under the bed, which tells me the room wasn’t cleaned between guests. To make matters worse, the staff seemed either overwhelmed or indifferent when I brought up my concerns. I asked for a different room, and the second one was barely better. At that point, I just laid my own towel over the bed and hoped to make it through the night. This place should be inspected immediately, because no one should have to pay to sleep in filth. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to my worst enemy. Stay away unless you’re okay with sleeping in what felt like a forgotten, bacteria-filled time capsule.

Clean

This property was in awful condition on the interior. The pictures are very generous compared to reality. Pillowcases and duvet had stains without cases on either. The toliet was filthy with pee around the rim when entering the room. The rooms smelled very strongly of cigarettes and the floors were filthy. When getting out of the shower my feet would be black from walking around on the floor barefoot after. The sink didn’t even have a drain cap either and the AC would only turn on temporarily. The vents were covered in dust. I am not sure when the last time it was cleaned, but was definitely not cleaned prior to check in. Overall, the hotel was disgusting, but I guess the price reflects what you pay for, but even so it was not worth the money. On top of this the walls are paper thin and you can hear every word said outside of the room as well as in the rooms next door.

Property is not nice at all, room is dirty and very old looking. Very bad all around!!!!

The Executive room is spacious. The bed is a true King size bed . The bathroom had a very terrible odor when you first open the door as if someone had just used the bathroom and something had came out of their body fouled. Inspite of the smell I would day it is still worth the price and I will be coming again

The room was NOT as pictured. It was old and dated. Raggedy furniture and paper thin walls. I was very uncomfortable with hearing neighbors having sex and being very loud. It was just not what i wxpected at all. Trashy hotel and clients. This was a great reminder to not wait because i settled for this trashy place.

It was noisy every morning from people talking/walking and the house keeping people rolling there carts on the concrete. It's in a busy area with plenty shops, stores, restaurants... You name it, you don't have to go far for anything. Rooms were small, very small. Puts you in the mind of a motel 6. But it was exactly what I expected and needed for me short trip.

Ok some rooms newer and nicer

The entire staff was so nice! I could definitely tell there was a lot of love for the hotel. The mattress and pillow were the best feeling ones I have ever had at a hotel. This will be my first call for future trips to Chicago.

I had a small room with few amenities, but that was fine with me, and the price was decent, $100 after taxes. That's not easy to find anymore, especially in a big city like Chicago. I just wanted a clean room for the night, and that is what I got. There were several good eateries within walking distance. There seemed to be some living/staying log-term in the same facility, they were friendly, not a bother, and a good source of info on where best to eat. I would stay here again.

The advertisement on the website and on hotels.com was not exactly what we ended up having. It did not feel or SMELL clean, and it definitely didn’t feel safe or welcome. The front desk receptionist was nice, but we didn’t feel safe in the environment.

Loved how attentive helpful and friendly the front desk always is; in addition to the helpful maintenance staff.

From the non refundable policy, the lack of professionalism from the evening desk staff & the overall atmosphere, id never recommend this place. The manager, Jordan, was nice, but that’s really where the good ended. From a leaky mini fridge, constant bugs in the room, THEY ONLY HAVE US TWO TOWELS FOR A 4 DAY STAY, I had to go buy my own towels because when I went to ask for new ones “they were out”. I got laughed at for asking a question about the WiFi by the evening lady, your feet were black after a shower from the dirty floor, just found it to be extremely unsatisfactory.

Relaxed atmosphere, walking distance of shops, walmart, restraunts

Lot of parking lot activity, people hanging outside of rooms/door open. Thankfully i wasn't near those rooms. And thankfully I couldn't hear any of that noise in room. A/C awesome (loud) so drowned out anything else (i'm ok with the loud A/C). No complaints about room. Room was clean!

My actual rating is 3-1/2 stars. The room that I had at the inn was nice for the rate that I was paying. I was not aware that the inn offers extended/long-term stay options as well. However, had I known, that would not have had a bearing on my decision to book my stay there. I just think it is a good idea to be transparent when leaving reviews. I was told by one of the staff that the new owners took over approximately a year ago. This review was written in October 2024. I was also told that 10 of the 58 rooms have been renovated. The plan is to eventually renovate all of the rooms to look similar to the one that I had. I had one of the recently renovated rooms. Following are some notes that may help you (the reader) make a decision about booking your stay there. LOCATION: The location is good. The inn is not far from the 55 expressway. The inn is approximately 45 minutes from Chinatown, Maxwell St. and Greektown. It also took me 45-50 minutes to get to the Northwest side of town by taking the 55 to the 90/94 expressways. For incidentals, snacks and general food items, there is a Dollar Tree, a Walmart, and a grocery store nearby on Harlem Ave. DINING OPTIONS: There are numerous local restaurants in the area (both take out, as well as dine-in). STAFF: The staff was friendly and accomodating. The staff tries to make your stay as comfortable, and as pleasant as possible. PARKING: There is ample and easy parking on the premises.

Very clean and comfortable for one night it was great. Offers little snacks and coffee. It was a great experience.
