Hotel is ok. check in and out was easy. The write ups from other people about breakfast was just wrong! Breakfast was not fantastic. The only hot items are waffles and 2 toasters. The only eggs they have are hard boiled. And the table area is so tiny. Literally people were standing waiting for a place to down and when you did sit down you're literally were chair to chair. We did not go in the pool because it was really dirty. The main thing the place has is a location. We were 5 minutes to both SeaWorld and Old Town. We had two rooms for two nights and one of the room was really moldy and the air conditioner didn't work. The front desk staff was friendly and was very easy to move to another room.

I felt that the location is great. There are several walkable places close by. The area is quiet and I felt safe too. The only down side was the pool wasn't clean during my stay so it couldn't be used. The staff was helpful. I love that breakfast was included also.

Good on-site parking and easy to get into room from outside door. Frig had a little freezer compartment which really helped my situation with making and packing lunches every day. Room was clean and bed was very comfortable. Everything worked. Door was a little hard to use and latched pretty harsh but securely. Tub valve leaked very bad (at least 5 gals/hour) but it didn't bother me too bad and apparently didn't bother the staff because I told them about it and they were aware of it during my entire 3 day stay.

After checking in, at the front desk there was a sign posted that they will no longer serve a full breakfast. There were no meats or eggs. On the 2nd day there was no hot water, they had to fix that the following day. Only one ice machine on the outside of the hotel under an awning.

If want bargain hotel is good. No elevator to second floor. No protein for breakfast. Property in general was dirty. Not what expected for howard johnson. There was several food options close by. Convenient to old town and not far from seaworld.

The staff was very nice and welcoming. Our room was really dirty. The coffee pot has cobwebs in it and there was dust and dirt everywhere. There was also a chunk of hair in our closet. The room also had a musty smell that took awhile to get over. We were only there to sleep so it was ok for that I guess. We won't be back.

The rooms were dirty and in disrepair. The smell in the room was horrible. And the front door have a big gap at the bottom. Front desk was nice, but I think they knew about the conditions of the room. Have to book somewhere else last minute, was a little stressful to star out vacations that way.

The door was hard to open because the key rarely seemed to unlock it. Breakfast wasn't great with limited options, not enough tables for the people staying and not enough room to allow guests to get to the counter. The rooms need updating as they look tired and tatty.

The TV was not working in the room, Front Desk employee had no solution for this only to say "Sorry..." Fan in bathroom made a super loud squeaking noise whenever it was on. a paid of Dirty socks was also left under the bed. Over all maintenance on the room was poor, conditions poor. Will not stay here again.

The door to the room was extremely hard to open and slammed shut when let go. The water ran in the bathtub shower the whole time we were there making it really noisy in the quiet hours of the night. When I talked to the girl at the front desk, she only said she would let the maintenance know.

The staff is very friendly and take care of requests immediately. The building is quite even though its on a busy street and i love love love how comfortable the king size bed is. Its so close to all the attractions around the city minus the traffic. The rooms need a little tlc but what building doesn't?! Can't wait to visit & stay here again!!

The internet didn’t work all 4 days/3 nights we were there. The first night, we couldn’t check in because theirs was down too. No biggie, we got keys and checked in the next day. Breakfast was decent and the cleaning lady was nice. Our keys didn’t work every night we came back to our room, so we always needed to get new keys. On the last night, we once again went to ask the night window for new keys. A night auditor walked up to the window and I told him “our keys haven’t worked every night we come back” and he took the keys and left to another room without a word. He came back to ask for my ID, which I didn’t have on me, so I gave him my name. He left and comes back with a new key and says “keep it away from metal, magnets..” and I told him we are aware and are really careful with them, but we are bummed they haven’t worked every night. He just repeated “well.. keep it away from metals.. magnets” without an ounce of customer service. At this point, I said “so, no ‘sorry for your inconvenience’” or ‘oh no, I’m sorry you had to walk here for a new key” or any sort of empathy? He just shrugged. Night staff literally doesn’t care.

I did not like anything from the property. Terrible service and terrible conditions. Got a room and someone’s stuff was there, they gave me another one and it had been used. Went to go ask for another room and the said to me that they could not do anything about it.

Started out bad, at check in they gave me a key and room number that was already occupied. Had to go back and request a different room, Card key they gave me for that room didn't work had to go back again. Every day it seemed I had issues with the room key, dealt with 2 different employees at the desk they never once asked for my name or id they just reprogramed the card key to the room I said i was in, The room was clean bed was comfortable. First hotel I have had in sometime that had zero USB ports. Shower was small old cracked and had no hot water any time of the day. The toilet lid was loose so when we sat down it moved. Just needed to be tightened. Wanted a cheap clean room centrally located to the zoo, beach and sea world. If the shower had hot water and the card keys would have worked. Would possibly stay again next time. Price was reasonable. But with the issues wont use Howard Johnsons again. (No elevators so keep your bags and coolers light or request a bottom floor)

I didn't like that they only clean your room every three days unless you request it. Also I asked for clean towels and they were left on the chair and the dirty ones were left on the floor in the bathroom.

Over all it was fine. I got what I paid for. The only really issues I would say were the fact that they only had cleaning services every 3 days so our trash piled quickly which required me to have to maintenance and I'm not paying to stay somewhere where I have to take care of those things during the day. Also, the worker who handled the Continental breakfast was SO rude. Two mornings ina row she was rude to me. This place worked for what we needed it for but we won't ever stay there again

This Hotel is old. Closet had bad smell. Carpet was old however vacuum you do it wont make a difference. Bathroom and electrical fittings were broken. With homeless people situation I won’t consider that hotel next time to stay with family.

Good to stay for a simple no frills night. Older furniture. Bar soaps are some of the thinnest and cheapest out there. Walls are very very thin as you can hear everything in the other rooms on each side. Great parking. Breakfast is hit or miss. Hard boiled eggs where available on first two days only, they the stopped putting them out.

Hotel is ok. check in and out was easy. The write ups from other people about breakfast was just wrong! Breakfast was not fantastic. The only hot items are waffles and 2 toasters. The only eggs they have are hard boiled. And the table area is so tiny. Literally people were standing waiting for a place to down and when you did sit down you're literally were chair to chair. We did not go in the pool because it was really dirty. The main thing the place has is a location. We were 5 minutes to both SeaWorld and Old Town. We had two rooms for two nights and one of the room was really moldy and the air conditioner didn't work. The front desk staff was friendly and was very easy to move to another room.

The door was hard to open because the key rarely seemed to unlock it. Breakfast wasn't great with limited options, not enough tables for the people staying and not enough room to allow guests to get to the counter. The rooms need updating as they look tired and tatty.

The staff was kind, check in fast, and rooms were clean. The hotel definitely shows its age and could use some updates to replace worn carpet or the cabinet for the mini-fridge and microwave. The breakfast area was also much too small for the number of guests. So, I am glad we did not pay more for what we got, and I don't think we could spend much more than just one night. That said, the location was great! The room was clean and the price was excellent. I would stay here again for one night.

After checking in, at the front desk there was a sign posted that they will no longer serve a full breakfast. There were no meats or eggs. On the 2nd day there was no hot water, they had to fix that the following day. Only one ice machine on the outside of the hotel under an awning.

If want bargain hotel is good. No elevator to second floor. No protein for breakfast. Property in general was dirty. Not what expected for howard johnson. There was several food options close by. Convenient to old town and not far from seaworld.

Overall, the property was clean, quiet, and well maintained. I booked this hotel for my son's Marine Corps graduation. Our reservation was from Wednesday through Friday, but we only ended up using the room for about 12 hours. The issue was with the security deposit at check-in. The front desk employee asked for either a credit card or cash. I first provided my credit card, but he said it didn't work. I then gave him my debit card, and he again said it didn't work, explaining that the machine was probably having issues. He then asked to keep my identification card as security, which I declined because I needed my ID to access the Marine base. Instead, I provided the required $150 cash deposit. Later that morning, I discovered that both my credit card and debit card had each been charged multiple times with different amounts, despite being told the transactions had not gone through. To make matters more frustrating, check-in wasn't until 3:00 p.m., but we didn't actually check in until 4:00 a.m. Thursday morning, and we checked out by 6:00 a.m. Friday morning. We spent very little time in the room, so dealing with the deposit and unauthorized charges overshadowed what otherwise would have been a pleasant stay.

This place is cheap for a reason. The "Shampoo & Conditioner" is body wash, the continental "breakfast" is one waffle maker and some cereal. The walls are thin. The TV works, as long as you find the right input. The street sign is literally missing. The restaurant next door is literally falling apart (I think it's closed?). I think they make up your room like once every three days. The clock is bolted to the nightstand. It's not a great area, the closest decent chain place is an Olive Garden that's a 15 - 20 minute walk. On the plus side, the room is good sized, the bed is decently comfortable, and everything works.

Basically the staff was nice and that’s where it ends. Shower had years of dirt and discoloration on bottom (reglaze) the damn thing for Pete’s sake. Parking lot was like a bomb went off. Beds felt like boards and overall condition is very unsettling for a HoJo. Not expecting 4-5 stars but a solid 1 is fair for here. Best thing was the free parking but otherwise not even close to what the pics show online.
