It’s ok. The entire property is pretty-beautiful golf course and views etc. Tons of pools-I liked the main hotel one as the las casitas pools and hot tubs seemed sandy and not as clean. Rooms are old and not modern or cozy and did not correlate with price we paid. I felt like we were in a freezing cold tiled container. Can’t adjust temp, was easily 50-60 degrees in room though it said it was warmer. We all dreaded the shower everyday-literally less than luke warm water that drizzles out with no pressure and gets water all over the bathroom floor. Supposedly have a butler but never really saw. Would ask for basics (ironing board) and it would take the whole day to get. Depending on which casitas you are in it is easier to walk to main hotel if needed, as when we scheduled golf cart rides they would never show up. Check in staff were not helpful and seemed tired, but housekeeping staff were very friendly and great. Tried to go to the island but they were using the small boat and not the large boat docked next to it that day and after 2 hrs of waiting we gave up. Restaurant by the main pool was good but slow. Would stay elsewhere next time.

Stayed 3 nights

Stayed 1/18–1/20/26. First time at El Conquistador. Check-in was extremely disorganized. I booked and paid for two ocean-view rooms for a party of four. Rooms were not ready at 4 PM (standard check-in) and were still not ready at 4:45 PM. Staff refused to offer a reasonable late check-out or waive the resort fee despite the delay. At 5:15 PM the same representative claimed I only had one ocean-view room and said the hotel was overbooked. Only after showing proof and pushing back did they waive the resort fee and provide a 2 PM check-out. Room conditions were poor. Brisas wing, 2nd floor had a strong musty/moldy smell in the hallway and room. Carpet powder was used to mask the odor, making it worse. Bathroom was very outdated—rust around the faucet, slippery sunken tub, and a malfunctioning shower that caused standing water. Sheets were thin and pilling. The only positives were the balcony ocean view, facilities, and restaurants. Based on the room quality and customer service, I would not stay here again.
