I have been staying at this hotel for a few years for both personal and business. The past year has not been good experiences. Breakfast is over at 9:30 yet everything was gone at 840am the juice machine did not work. The elevator is out each time I stay.

I have stayed at this hotel several times. I was disappointed that the spa was under construction and not available. It’s understandable but still a disappointment. The breakfast is usually very good. This time, not so much. The sausage patties and egg omelets were very over cooked everyday and links were not an option. The breakfast is a reason that I opt to stay here at a higher price than other options. I’ll likely look at other accommodation options in the future.

I only had one complaint and that was that they didnt give any indication they were going to be closing half of the parking to resurface the lot. So there were nit enough parking spots for all of the people staying at the hotel.

It has a nice breakfast. The gym is small but adequate. Walmart is within walking distance. Coffee in the room with Keurig k-Cups. Extra coffee available in the lobby.

Property was well kept. Not much parking though so we had to park across the street at another hotel. About a mile from the beach and a mile from restaurants but nothing within traditional walking distance. There’s a great walking trail by as well. The hotel itself is very nice. Very comfy beds and huge rooms. Breakfast was mediocre at best but I appreciated having the option. Staff was great! Had an issue getting the crib I requested but it was eventually delivered

The room was not good. It was on the first floor but felt like a basement. The windows faced a large mechanical fan, and the room had a bad smell. I reported it to the reception, but the staff member was not helpful. I am a frequent customer of Holiday Inn Express, but after this experience, I will have to think twice before booking again.

My partner and I loved the room it was very clean, good pillows, and a lot of storage space. It also came with a microwave and mini fridge which was much appreciated. IHG hotels have become a reliable hotel for us. Especially because of the complimentary breakfast. It makes our stay so much more enjoyable and elevates a lot of stress in the morning allowing us to enjoy our vacation more.

Parking, check-in, and check-out was easy. Breakfast ends at 9:30 so we missed it. The lady was kind enough to offer us muffins even though they already closed up the kitchen. Only problem we had that turned us off completely was the smell of our room, the completely dirty sink, and some type of tick that was on our bed. We also found another dead insect on the other bed. We tried calling front desk, but phones were not working so we took our stuff and went straight to front desk. She was able to get us into another room that was cleaner, no foul odor, and no insects.

The breakfast and some of the staff was great. The property itself smells like vomit and a hospital. The rooms are decently comfortable but the noises around are pretty loud. You can hear the doors nearby slam, toilets flushing, and the neighors tv and talking through the walls.

Hotel was fine for a quick overnight but we were given room 115 on lower level and starting very early in morning was chair dragging and foot stomping. I’m not sure if we were below the breakfast area but it was too early for us.

Definitely coming back; kinda rough check in only because pics for the standard room are the same for the suite. Staff argued that it's a mistake and they can't do anything about it. Bad pics on website. Correct them...now

Room was supposed to be ready at 3pm, it was still not ready at 6pm. We wasted almost 1 hr waiting for the room to be ready until we decided to change our plans around due to room not ready. I wish they would have called or text that they were running behind on cleaning. Seemed like they didn’t care.

Really, the customer service at the check in and out was underwhelming. They weren't rude, but not personable. I don't need to be entertained, but there's def room for improvement on how they interact with customers. Elaborate, smile, say hello, etc.

We stay at this specific property 5X a year since our daughter attends school nearby. love this place. The morning breakfast can be a hit/miss but at least they always have bagels, hot coffee and bananas, so it's all good. Staff is very friendly and whenever there is ever a problem, they are quick to resolve it.

We came here to celebrate my birthday Positives: it’s close enough to Monterey but also far away enough from all the tourists. Loved the location. There is a Walmart and 7eleven within walking distance. Marina beach is only 5 mins away. Our room was decently sized and fairly quiet Negative: The first night we called down and asked if we could have an extra blanket. It was cold in the room and all that was on the end was a thin bedspread. We called down, typically in other Holiday Inns they bring it up wirhout issue. The clerk was a little rude and said come down and get it. Secondly the breakfast, the juice was down, so was the pancake station, there were only 3-4 tables…for the entire hotel. What little breakfast they had out my son wasn’t able to sit down and eat.

IT WAS VERY EASY TO COME IN AND OUT OF THE PROPERTY. SHOPPING CENTER WAS VERY CLOSE HOTEL LITTLE OLD, BUT CONVENT.

Property was well kept. Not much parking though so we had to park across the street at another hotel. About a mile from the beach and a mile from restaurants but nothing within traditional walking distance. There’s a great walking trail by as well. The hotel itself is very nice. Very comfy beds and huge rooms. Breakfast was mediocre at best but I appreciated having the option. Staff was great! Had an issue getting the crib I requested but it was eventually delivered

I have been staying at this hotel for a few years for both personal and business. The past year has not been good experiences. Breakfast is over at 9:30 yet everything was gone at 840am the juice machine did not work. The elevator is out each time I stay.

I have stayed at this hotel several times. I was disappointed that the spa was under construction and not available. It’s understandable but still a disappointment. The breakfast is usually very good. This time, not so much. The sausage patties and egg omelets were very over cooked everyday and links were not an option. The breakfast is a reason that I opt to stay here at a higher price than other options. I’ll likely look at other accommodation options in the future.

Everything about our stay here was perfect. I read the other reviews about breakfast and don’t know how anyone could say anything negative - they had cheese & egg omelettes, bacon, sausage, pancakes, apples, oranges, bananas, cinnamon rolls, oatmeal, cold cereal, yogurt, bagels, English muffins, bread for toast, juice and coffee. Honestly, what else can you ask for?

We visit the Monterey Bay Area a couple times a year and normally stay at another hotel but it was fully booked due to the holiday weekend. We opted for this location as it was one of only two hotels with rooms still available. The fundamentals are in place, but the details are seriously lacking considering the nightly rate charged ($400 is incredibly overpriced). The small complaints: No cups/glasses/trays in the bathroom vanity area - only flimsy plastic or styrofoam coffee cups in the whole room. The tub drain was broken and required us to mess with it. The gym is incredibly small, as is the jacuzzi. No EV charger on site or nearby. The TV in room doesn’t allow you access to log into your own as apps - a wish because the cable/satellite package available is extremely limited and very slow and clunky to navigate. The positives: Staff were all kind and friendly. Breakfast was well tended and had a nice assortment of options. The beds were incredibly comfortable. The room was a very nice size and super clean. The furniture all in good shape and functional.
