The gym was aswome

It was a bummer that the main pool was closed for renovation and that it was closest to our room... but we made the most of it. The restaurant on the property was also VERY smelly and that's important because there aren't many places to sit and eat. Finally, this place essentially shuts down at 8 pm... so it's important to stock up on groceries on your way in! That said, the full kitchens in the rooms were very handy and the bed was super comfy!!!

Property was nice. However, I requested a view of the golf course instead I got the view of the children’s pool. Too loud! Also, service requests are very slow. Parking is limited. I attended their time share talk and was promised to receive a $150.00 cash card. It’s been over 3 weeks and I still have NOT received it. I called 4x already!!! Very in convenient!!! Property is far from anything interesting. Almost 1 hour away from downtown SD. Lots of bad golfers too! Play was slow. It’s an executive course and very short. So you get a lot of hackers. Nice practice. Oh and only 1 bathroom, after the 9th hole. So if you’re drinking, you’ll need to hold it for a while!!!

Room was spacious - but outdated- 3 star status. Pools crowded and no lounge chairs available and multiple times run out of towels. No wifi in higher rooms.

Golf course first rate the accommodations were just ok. The pool areas need maintenance run down felt overrated. The free wi-fi was nonexistent

I recently stayed at the Hyatt Vacation Club in San Diego, and unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience. Booking & Upgrade Issues When I booked my trip, I tried to upgrade my room about five days before arrival. Rooms were available online, and I was happy to pay extra. However, I was told it wasn’t possible due to “policy.” Even after escalating to the general manager, the only option given was to cancel with zero refund and rebook. I chose not to, and I’m glad—because once I arrived, the reality of the property was far from ideal. Check-in & Security The front desk staff were polite, but it quickly became clear the focus was on pushing timeshare presentations. Upon arrival, entering the property felt intrusive. Security stopped me for an extended period, asking endless questions as if I needed to provide proof of identity beyond reason. They even marked my parking spot to monitor where I was staying, despite my understanding that I should be able to move freely around the resort. Property Layout The resort is extremely spread out, almost like a small city. With eight pools scattered so far apart, you need to drive just to get from one to another—not at all convenient. Room & Cleanliness When I entered my room, it was dirty. Popcorn on the floor, no shampoo in the shower, and a smelly garbage bag left outside my door for three days straight. Even worse, when I called the front desk, I was told that cleaning would be an extra charge—despite the room being dirty f

The place was beautiful! Room was great too! I did not like the bed but my husband loved it. The tv in the bedroom didn't work but not really a big deal. Also, the freezer smelled so bad, like kimchi. The only big issue I had was there where 2 cockroaches in the room, my husband killed them, which freak me out and hard to sleep that there may be more bugs crawling around.

Noisy, housekeeping could be better

The shower and tub were visibly dirty at check in- an entire layer of filth in the shower had to be removed by the bride before we could use either. The bed sheets felt literally like a semi waterproof shower curtain liner. The A/C wouldnt go cooler which made the sheets all the worse . & the worst part- after clearly stating multiple times we were there for our wedding weekend- we were called at 9pm by the front desk- during what should have been our intimate moment after getting married- interrupted by an unnecessary phone call. Never in my years of working in a hotel could I have imagined a worse hotel situation for my wedding weekend. The best parts were the food on property and those working the food locations, as well of course the incredible staff at bello spa on site.

Didn’t like how when I checked in my room I had bug all in my room and it was dirty I had to wait 4 hours to have someone come and clean my room as they didn’t have any other suites with jetted tubs I was absolutely unsatisfied with my experience and they could not even accommodate me for the discrepancy on there part I probably won’t be back

What I really appreciated about the hotel was the security being front and center at the gate and attentive. It gave a safe atmosphere. The biggest disappointment with my hotel room was my shower from the water heat not even reaching lukewarm and the floor not looking clean or scrubbed down. It still had remnants of previous guest hair in the shower.

I asked for a room with a view and instead I got a basement room with view of tree trunks.. The room was spacious with full appliances which was nice. Upon arrival the kitchen nook seats were filthy, that really turned me off. The shower drain was clogged, which was disgusting.

Property and amenities are nice. There were a few mistakes on the staffs end. The biggest issue I had was the WiFi was very very slow which made it challenging if you need to work. Also, the TV’s are outdated

Rooms are spacious & clean. Property is a bit dated, but largely in good shape. Difficult to stream on TVs & even work the TVs. Would stay there again if needed full kitchen LR & extra bedroom.

The rooms desperately need some updating. Chipped and scratched paint all over the room/shades, outdated furniture and color schemes. The jacuzzi tub in our room easily looks 30+ years old.

Very nice but I’d prefer to stay in the older units at the Welk. These units are on top of each other and it is a bit loud at night. We love the resort though.. great pools and activities. I’ve been staying at the Welk for over 30 years.

The units are large and comfortable. The grounds are clean and beautiful. It is a drive from anything but that was ok for us as we did our big grocery shop on the way in and spent most of our days exploring Southern California. Only let down was the pools were either not heated or if they were they were still cold.

The room was very nice and the view was beautiful Mountain View.

We love staying here with our family. There is so much to do for the whole family. Everyone is so nice. The rooms are huge. 100% value for the money. We can’t wait to come back.

The check in time was a nightmare. We arrived at 3pm and had to wait 2 hours to get checked in. The check in process is incredibly lengthy and no one knows whatvthey are doing atvthe front counter. Also when you call the front desk, no one answers.

We recently stayed at the Hyatt Vacation Club for 5 nights and overall had a good experience, but it started off rough. Check-in was a nightmare—we had to wait over 1.5 hours before we finally got our room. The front desk couldn’t even give us a time estimate for when our room would be ready, which was incredibly frustrating. We probably would’ve waited even longer if I hadn’t spoken to a manager. As soon as I did, the room was suddenly available—something that didn’t sit well with us. That said, once we got settled, the resort itself was beautiful. The property is well-kept and relaxing. Our room was spacious and comfortable, which made a big difference for our family. The restaurant food was just okay—not great, but decent. The real highlight was the variety of family-friendly activities. We had a great time doing the escape room and going fishing together—it definitely added to the experience. Despite the frustrating check-in, we ended up having a nice stay. Just be aware that you might need to be persistent to get things moving.

Overall I really like the resort and will definitely go back, however 10 am check out is frustrating and the customer service didn’t give as late check out option, other than that everything was really good, very quiet and relaxing. Will definitely recommend my family and friends.

The property was nice and great amenities. I asked the housekeeper for some new towels. She said she would bring some to the room but she never did. Other than that, the stay was nice.

First off….beautiful venue . The family and I loved that aspect of it. However the check in process is absolutely terrible. We showed up 1 hour after check in and the line was out the door. I waited 30 minutes to get to the desk. Once at the desk another 15 minutes. Why on earth would you need 15 minutes to check me in once you are talking to me. I had the card and ID ready. Then…sorry your room isn’t ready. Again I’m here an hour after check in time. So finally checked in, ok thanks we’ll call you when your room is ready, please go over to that desk to get the parking ticket. What the f……. I just checked in I need to go over there to another line? Yep….Damn cool place but please look into some process efficiency because it is fregun terrible. The family ended up enjoying the stay but to start out the trip like that just left a bad taste in the mouth.

I had such a great time! The staff was very friendly, helpful, and professional. All my needs were met during my stay. Parking was easy and close to my room, literally outside of my door! There was so much to do during the stuff, we were never bored. I cant wait to come back!

Staff is absolutely amazing

For starters the property itself is AMAZING, we were assisted at the front desk by a super friendly and helpful guy named “hanz” (he needs a promotion imo) after being solicited for a timeshare for the next 30 minutes, we were finally shown on a map where our villa would be & given a parking pass . Again the property is amazing and huge ! We got food in the downtown area and headed back to the room to relax , called the front desk a few times and got ONE REPLY essentially. The rest we were either ignored or seems like made to wait until the question or item requested no longer mattered. While out shopping I received a text asking us to clean the room for the maids 😆 we were already planning on doing so , but to be told to do it after paying almost $700 for the night seemed “extra” … This isn’t about the price at all though , in fact we left and got another room for the weekend @ damn near the same price (1150 for 2 nights) … Not as fancy ,as far as the property goes but we’re actually being treated like PAYING GUEST here … we’ve been asked over 5x in the last hour or so “is there anything I can get you” & even received a check up call from the front desk reassuring whatever we needed was only a call away & NO PROBLEM. All in all , not sure if I’d do the Hyatt again 💯 Your money to waste though

Room was in pretty good condition. However, we called for bedding since we had none for our pullout and it took 10 calls, and 7 hours later for them to finally come. We are taking midnight and the kids had to stay up since they didn’t have any blankets. No apologies, no credits nothing. They didn’t even want to let us have a late checkout.

Excellent location not far from the 15. Definitely far from San Diego, but if you don’t mind driving, it’s perfect. Beautiful scenery with extremely spacious rooms. Brought our own food and had a great time.

Welk resort is about 30 minutes away from where we live and it’s a perfect staycation place to decompress for a few days.Upon arrival staff greeted us with smiles and enthusiasm. In fact all staff members we had the pleasure of meeting went above and beyond to help and they were the highlight of our stay. Welk is a lovely resort with beautiful views all around. We enjoyed relaxing at the pool(s), taking walks and just relaxing. However we were disappointed that there was very limited food / drink options at the pools. And we would have liked to have more cabana rental availability at more of the pools. We had planned to spend a day at each pool but only two had cabanas for rent. Our villa was lovely. Very spacious and nice. However there were several things that needed attention. The washing machine leaked and flooded the kitchen, the microwave door needed to be held shut in order to work, and the shower would gradually get too hot because the handle would not stay in position. There were a few other things as well. We had a wonderful time and we will definitely return for little getaways but the condition of the villa made us think twice about buying in.

I was canvassed for a property time share tour before our visit. We took part and staff were friendly but we are not interested. They ask for a $300 hold until your departure. Limited food options,Market is expensive and not well stocked. Only dinner option was ok. Had to travel to find other dinner options. Rooms are nice and spacious. Location is rather remote if you like that.

The condos are nice for a small family. There is not much to eat on or near the property, so plan to buy food and cook yourself. The property is very pretty and relaxing with lovely mountain views. The staff was very friendly and helpful at checkin - we were able to check in early, but otherwise would be 4PM, quite late. At checkin you get your parking pass from a time share seller, so beware. Other issues to note: many guests at the pools do not take their wet towels with them when they leave, making a mess and also preventing others from using chairs. The main pool with the slide is very busy with children, but other pools are less busy and crowded. The hotel asks you to put together your own trash etc. and also has a 10AM checkout time which is very early. Our condo was overlooking the fishing pond and while we were able to hear wildlife (frogs, birds, etc.) we also had a loud constant noise from the highway because of how our condo was situated. A condo closer to the mountain or other quiet places would have been nicer. Also, a golf hut was below our room and loud golfers would wake us up at 5AM. Overall I did like this property and would stay again, it was peaceful, nice views, and the pool was nice, but be ready for limiting dining options.

Beautiful property, but we were hoping to get away and relax. Unfortunately, our room was across from the highway and we could not sleep all three nights or completely relax.

There was no dining for breakfast. The restaurant did not open until 11 am.

It was a great experience, they had various activities throughout the day for kids and adults. They have a schedule on certain activities to attend which we enjoyed. Room was nice and clean had everything we needed. The only issue was the onsite Pizza Hut the food and service was awful would not eat there unfortunately the grill was closed so wasn’t able to try that. Everything else went great would come back!

It was very nice stay overall. Beautiful scenery, rooms had a kitchen with stove, full size fridge, dishwasher, and stove. Staff was very friendly. Property has several pools and a nice fitness center. The only small complaints we had was wi-fi wasn’t great so connections were a little slow. My husband said when he went to the onsite Market there was a bad smell. In terms of parking there should be a little more parking in each section. When we got back late once we had to park in another area. Luckily it wasn’t too far away but even that section had minimal parking as well. Rooms are nice but a little dated. There was a large scratch along the wall in the kitchen as well. Overall very pleased.

The room and view were great .,, The Canyon Grill needs a lot of help. I worked for over 15 years for HYATT and Sheraton as a Director of Guest Services, so I know my way around a hotel or two. SERVICE IS EVERYTHING….. You need to fix that ASAP. Don’t talk about . DO IT !!!!

Our room, in the Villas on the Green was really nice! But the pools were way over crowded! They had more of an apartment feel, than a resort feel. Not much food pptions for dinner, so we have to drive 15/20 minutes away. And had trouble finding parking when we got back. The resort itself is beautiful, but, warning, everything is very spread out. They have a shuttle service to get around the property, but you could be waiting up to 35 minutes for the shuttle. It seriously reminded me of a giant apartment complex. I was dissapointed.

I could hear the people talking in the room next to us. I could everything they said. It was extremely annoying. They also didn’t have food at the pool or room service. That was a big negative for us.

Overall it was an ok stay. Our room was fine. A little dirty in areas but no big deal. The TV in the living was not working great neither did the remote. The dishwasher started leaking when we were doing dishes before leaving. We were pretty annoyed with the no food and drink rule at the pool and having so little to choose from to buy and the food service took a very long time for simple items. And the store down by the lobby has very little food options as well. Also the road up top that connects the mountain villas should always remain open and both directions should be allowed. Driving back and forth around the entire property to get from the pool to the middle mountain villas was annoying. Overall we had fun at the pools and the rooms were ok. Probably won’t return though due to some of these things making a staycation more work than is worth it.
