Waterfront Cottage w Sauna on Sharbot Lake

We enjoyed our stay. The property was lovely

We had a wonderful stay at the Sharbot Lake House. We were a bit weary when we first pulled up - the house is right next to a shoddy looking garage and a marina - but the owners have done a great job with privacy fencing and you really don’t notice it at all once on the property. The marina was also very quiet, and didn’t pose a problem at all. There are a LOT of weeds in the water, making it unswimmable from the dock, but we’d paddle out a ways and have great swims in the deep, warm water. The beach was perfect and a very short drive away. The dock needs repairs, so boat/water shoes are a must to avoid splinters. We loved watching our neighbour the muskrat going out for his morning and evening swims, and the sunset views were just to die for. The house itself is spectacular. It was the cleanest place we’ve ever rented, and the decor is perfect. The dishwasher was not functional, which was a bummer, but I suppose not the end of the world. That and the state of the dock are the only two things keeping this from being a 5 star review. Our host’s communication was impeccable. Very quick to respond, and very helpful and personable. We would absolutely rent from them again in the future.
