Booked in a rush and didn't realize the location. It's right above a bar! Bars don't close til 3-4 am, and the music is VERY loud. The room itself was nice and small. Also, be aware that this place doesn't offer parking! We found a parking garage about a 5 minute walk away

Upon arrival I couldn’t get access into the building because the door wasn’t working. After 4 calls and 2 maintenance guys, they just decided to keep the building door unlocked the next day. It was so inconvenient because we had to use the side door of a restaurant to get in and the employees were super annoyed we had to do so. The elevator has a really bad smell. The room wasn’t 100% clean. Overall I was not satisfied with my experience here. Parking was also inconvenient, which I expected l, because in gaslamp you usually have to find a lot nearby to park in. A lot of the lots were full or didn’t do over night. We found one nearby that we had to just keep paying for every 10 hours. Expect it to be noisy all night because you are above some bars. Silver lining about this place is that it’s really close to everything. Walking distance to petco stadium for the padres game and close to the convention center as well.

Only good thing was room was nice and clean other than that hallway just seemed dirty. Elevator was dirty and smelled was a bit noisy. Also there’s no parking on this property and it’s very difficult to find some. You have to park your car blocks away and leave it there no In-N-Out.

Overall, the room is as nice. While there was a table, it only had one chair so we could not both sit to eat together. One person had to sit on the bed. The elevator was very run down and was out of order the day we left. We were on the 4th floor with large suitcases so the elevator being out of order was an issue. There was poor signage for the stairs so we went down an extra flight before realizing we needed to stop at the second floor and then take another set of stairs down the hall to get out of the hotel. The location was great which made up for the things it lacked.

I had trouble getting into the property at first, but got immediate and courteous help. It was clean and very nicely equipped in the kitchenette, etc. and free laundry room! Great option for a five night stay.

Stay here if you want to explore Gaslamp Quarter restaurants and bars and/or attend a game at Petco Park. Great amenities and spacious rooms. It’s in between 2 restaurants so may be a bit noisy (depending on your room location). Hallways and elevators were a bit smelly and dirty. However the room was clean and price was very reasonable.

Terrible, unclean and loud. Walked in and there were dead roaches. They couldn't do anything about it as there's no help on site and could only communicate via text.

I no one ever came to change my bedding after i explained there was either blood or dirt in my bed. My bed sat on the floor. I was unable to watch tv without having to use my own personal account. What was shown I didn't recieve. FALSE ADVERTISEMENT!!!!!!!!BEWARE DON'T GO!!!

The area was right in the gaslamp district so it is loud at night with the party scene. The room was beautiful. My only complaint was the shower was dirty and moldy.

This place has as excellent location! Some noise at night but we tolerated it is it was well documented. It could use some touch ups-bathroom door frame &walls, bathroom floor, the bedding was very wrinkled and comforter had “balls” wadding of inner stuffing. Also, the bed is extremely low to the ground!! The elevator was horrible! We used once! And hallway-well the door was off slider to “electrical.” I attempted to communicate about check out duties and I kept getting message to “take trash out but not necessary!” We left earlier than expected and wanted to do everything the night before; I finally called the 3rd party and they informed me plus then I got more info night before. The “no front desk” is odd. Would I stay here again? Probably due to location as we were there for baseball games.

I’ve lived in a major city and have been to Gaslamp before, so I knew what to expect. The unit was super small and yes, is on top of a busy restaurant. But it was clean, nice, and pretty quiet (I got lucky and wasn’t over the street). The location is great if you want to party in Gaslamp or don’t mind noise. My only problem was when there was an issue with accessing the property due to a technical malfunction with the lock. The customer service channels Kasa advertises aren’t great. Text messages weren't answered and it took a really long time to get a person on the phone. The rep was nice and tried hard to help me, but she ultimately couldn’t get a hold of anyone to meet us onsite to help. Thankfully my party found a workaround, but it wasn’t thanks to Kasa. This is worth the price if you manage your expectations and have the flexibility to navigate issues like the door thing without an army of hotel employees available.

Good things: 1. Close to convention center 2. Suite was pleasant 3 Help from staff- Marlon and John were very nice to us and helpful and honestly the saving grace of this place. Bad things: 1. Too loud downstairs 2. For an exorbitant price, it was a less than decent experience walking in, dirty dingy walkway, dirty elevator, sticky floors. 3. Ac was blasting in bedroom but rest of the suite was too warm 4. Ac would shut down on its own in the middle of the night 5. One night the fire alarm went off, we were away but there was no message or text of any sort from management. We had to be out of the room until 11 pm. 6. It took a hours for whoever was on text to respond. We had to call the 1800 number to get help. In short, over priced, no lobby or reception , very loud but staff were nice.

I liked being a close walk to the convention center. They left a coupon for the restaurant downstairs. It's in a 1887 building so things are a little quirky to fit. I had a little suite with a bedroom that the door closed and a little separate room with couch and TV. The kitchenette was well stocked with settings for at least 5, pots pans, pasta strainer. Mini fridge, electric 2 burner, microwave, toaster, hot water pot, and coffee maker. Also a mini first aid kit and a fire extinguisher. There is a white noise machine and ear plugs, but I was in a back room and did not need them. There is background noise from the street at night.... But I was in the heart of gaslamp. So much to do just steps away. Hop skip and jump to ballpark also.

Very spacious and well maintained property - although lounge/living areas quite dark without windows - but excellent level of equipment in kitchen and all very clean. It was near-impossible find out if luggage could be left early or with a concierge (on arrival) - and it should be made clear BEFORE booking that you’ll have to use bounce.com - also on the day of checking out if you need to leave luggage. No problem with noise from bars or restaurants below - and terrific area to stay in,

In the room I had there was only one window - it was in the bedroom, and the bed was blocking the window. I really appreciate waking up to natural light when i have my coffee; not in this space. Disappointed. The room was clean, yet dated. The huge air conditioning fan was in the bedroom and was on-off-on-off all night; a bit disrupting. Other than that, The area on Fifth avenue was lively and offering many places to eat and socialize- and also close to the convention center. There is also a grocery store nearby to buy supplies for breakfast and take-out.

The room was bright and sunny with roof windows. Large room with three area including living space, dinning kitchen space and bedroom space. However, the street was noisy in the middle of night. Ear plugs are available that help a lot.

The room was cute and well-maintained. I knew going in that it was located above a bar & restaurant, but the level of noise until 2:00am - 3:00am couldn't even begin to be drowned out by the earplugs provided on the nightstand. I also sleep with the tv on, which would've helped with the outside noise levels, but that wasn't possible with the only option for tv being to stream video from my phone through a horrible internet connection there. The Chromecast constantly disconnected, as well as the internet constantly buffering. I was in town for a convention at the convention center several blocks away, but checked out 2 days early after 2 nights of little sleep and having to walk around homeless people and vomit on the sidewalks. Again, their room was nice, but the area was overall gross.

Although it’s an older property and the entrance and elevator is basic, the unit was comfortable with beautiful skylights in the kitchen and living room. An excellent suite with a separate kitchen and living room which I wasn’t expecting. Right in the middle of the gaslamp quarter, which is quite a noisy area, but I had no problem with street noise possibly because my room was on the top floor. A great location, only 5 minute walk from Petco Park.

Stay here if you want to explore Gaslamp Quarter restaurants and bars and/or attend a game at Petco Park. Great amenities and spacious rooms. It’s in between 2 restaurants so may be a bit noisy (depending on your room location). Hallways and elevators were a bit smelly and dirty. However the room was clean and price was very reasonable.

I’ve lived in a major city and have been to Gaslamp before, so I knew what to expect. The unit was super small and yes, is on top of a busy restaurant. But it was clean, nice, and pretty quiet (I got lucky and wasn’t over the street). The location is great if you want to party in Gaslamp or don’t mind noise. My only problem was when there was an issue with accessing the property due to a technical malfunction with the lock. The customer service channels Kasa advertises aren’t great. Text messages weren't answered and it took a really long time to get a person on the phone. The rep was nice and tried hard to help me, but she ultimately couldn’t get a hold of anyone to meet us onsite to help. Thankfully my party found a workaround, but it wasn’t thanks to Kasa. This is worth the price if you manage your expectations and have the flexibility to navigate issues like the door thing without an army of hotel employees available.

Good things: 1. Close to convention center 2. Suite was pleasant 3 Help from staff- Marlon and John were very nice to us and helpful and honestly the saving grace of this place. Bad things: 1. Too loud downstairs 2. For an exorbitant price, it was a less than decent experience walking in, dirty dingy walkway, dirty elevator, sticky floors. 3. Ac was blasting in bedroom but rest of the suite was too warm 4. Ac would shut down on its own in the middle of the night 5. One night the fire alarm went off, we were away but there was no message or text of any sort from management. We had to be out of the room until 11 pm. 6. It took a hours for whoever was on text to respond. We had to call the 1800 number to get help. In short, over priced, no lobby or reception , very loud but staff were nice.

We had an amazing time on our honeymoon staying at Kasa Gaslamp! We highly recommend to anyone visiting downtown San Diego. Transit to places like LaJolla, the beaches, Balboa Park and the Zoo were very accessible. Our room was extremely quiet (weekdays and weeknights). Our room had a full kitchen and the bed was so comfortable! The communication was great and check-in codes/instructions were so simple. Such a great experience from Kasa! We will be back!

Upon arrival I couldn’t get access into the building because the door wasn’t working. After 4 calls and 2 maintenance guys, they just decided to keep the building door unlocked the next day. It was so inconvenient because we had to use the side door of a restaurant to get in and the employees were super annoyed we had to do so. The elevator has a really bad smell. The room wasn’t 100% clean. Overall I was not satisfied with my experience here. Parking was also inconvenient, which I expected l, because in gaslamp you usually have to find a lot nearby to park in. A lot of the lots were full or didn’t do over night. We found one nearby that we had to just keep paying for every 10 hours. Expect it to be noisy all night because you are above some bars. Silver lining about this place is that it’s really close to everything. Walking distance to petco stadium for the padres game and close to the convention center as well.

The nose wasn't all issue, and we were directly above the Havana room. What was an issue, was customer service. We were locked out of the building on day 4, and my pleas for help were answered by AI, it took 4 hours to resolve the issue. When I reached out to them to discuss it, before leaving the review, again, AI and no resolution. The elevator is shared with the kitchen of the restaurant below and is full of gross,wet sticky juice all of the time. The hall was pulled in uncollected Amazon packages and the smell of mildew was almost sickening, the pictures of the common areas looked nothing like the hotel . The unit itself was fine, tho there was no tv in the bedroom and only about 10 inches between the foot of the bed and the wall, so beware if you use any kind of mobility device

Door code did not work when trying to enter building around midnight. Other people trying to enter building, asking if it was the speak easy. Door lock looked patched up after being kicked in.

This was the easiest place to check in and out of. No lines or people. Just an email and text. Perfect location in the heart of The Gaslamp Quarter. Would definitely stay again.

Our room was a spacious well equipped one bedroom unit with skylights and a kitchenette in a small hotel in an old building right in the center of the Gaslamp District. Although renovated and the room was in decent condition, the building showed some wear and tear. My wife and I stayed for four nights. During our first night, after 1:30 AM, there was on and off loud construction noise and loud conversation in Spanish on our corridor and below our window outside until 6 AM. After complaining, this did not happen again. During our last two days we had no hot water. This could not be remedied. I guess we had bad luck and the hotel would deserve a better review but, based on our experience, I cannot go beyond two stars.

Located in downtown SD, very nice and easy to access. Parking isn’t the best and it is expensive. 60$ for 20hrs of parking. Also be aware of homeless in the area.

Easy check-in and check-out. Contact from Kasa and the use of their virtual front desk made the entire experience quick and easy. This property is located right above 5th street and places you right in the center of the action of the Gaslamp District. Walkable to Petco Park, Convention Center, Seaport Village.

This property shouldn’t be on a hotel website. It isn’t a hotel. There is no live person at the entrance (maybe you can contact someone but there was nothing they could have done for me at that point), no lobby just a sketchy hallway entered by a single door that isn’t the easiest to find since you might be looking for a HOTEL!! The entrance is in between two businesses, I think they were both bars. The picture that comes up when you choose this spot looks like a hotel, I believe it’s just a random picture of a hotel one would like to stay in. Women or families with children, don’t even consider, I’m 6’ 200 pounds and I was looking over my shoulder. On the positive side, the room has what you need, it was fairly clean (in need of several repairs), the bed was comfortable.

Honestly, my stay was very disappointing. The bed was extremely hard and uncomfortable, making it difficult to get a good night’s sleep. Check-in was also horrible. I was left standing outside near homeless people because I couldn’t get into the building. Thankfully, another guest happened to open the door for me, because otherwise I would have been completely locked out. The bedroom door to the unit also would not close properly, and it took around 7 minutes just to get it to lock. For the price, I expected much better security, comfort, and overall service. Unfortunately, I would not stay here again.

This location is great and in a lively area, but unfortunately, the air conditioning is extremely loud—so loud that it wakes us up at night. The elevator broke for the last two days, so we had to keep walking up and down. Since we were on the fourth floor with a mezzanine in between, it was essentially five flights of stairs. Also, the kettle for boiling water was broken. We told them on the first day, and they said they would fix it, but they never came. The non-stick pan was completely scratched up, so we didn't dare use it. The listing says it sleeps four, with one of those being a sofa bed, but the sofa bed is of very poor quality and essentially extremely uncomfortable. So while the location is indeed good and it does sleep four, with all these shortcomings, there is no way to give it more than three stars.
