The spa and fitness facilities stand out for our visit. Two nights of hot tubs and sauna were relaxing. Dining was great. Walking near the river was relaxing. Rooms were spacious and well furnished. All the amenities. Enjoyed our stay in the area.

This was a great place. Of note, there is not much in town, and “town” is very small. There’s a grocery store that closes early, a gas station, and maybe 2-3 bars/restaurants, no other shops. But it was a good stopping place between the Thingvellir national park and the snaelfellsnes peninsula. The restaurant seemed like it could be good, it was cute; admittedly we didn’t have time to try it. The pool downstairs is about a foot deep, just for cooling down, and they have a hot tub, sauna and steam room which were all free and it was a very nice feature. The front desk is not well staffed, but they were very friendly and informative when they were there. The room was very nice, modern, and clean. Overall a great option

The Room is very spacious. The Size of TV compared with room size is relatively small. Room is clean. However, the room was quite hot. We borrowed a fan from the reception. The lights in the Jacuzzi area were too dark.

This hotel is very pretty and updated but the parking is pretty bad. There are only a few parking spaces in the front and they don’t tell you if you can park on the side or in the back and there aren’t really any signs. The bed came apart when you laid on it. The TV was a smart TV so you could stream shows which was nice. The staff was not very friendly and the spa is not open 24 hours but they also don’t tell you the hours that it is open? Our tea and coffee tray had open tea bags with no tea in them. It was a nice hotel and did the job for one night but we probably wouldn’t stay here again.

Wir haben zum ersten Mal in Borgarnes übernachtet und waren sehr zufrieden. Die Zimmer sind modern eingerichtet und ausgesprochen sauber. Besonders positiv hervorzuheben ist das reichhaltige und köstliche Frühstück.

We stayed for only one night, but this is one of our favorite hotels. First of all, we are family of 5 and stayed in the family room. It is more than enough to accommodate six people comfortably. The hotel is also extremely well maintained and very clean. It is directly across the street from a grocery store. Also the buffet breakfast was by far the nicest one we’ve had as we’ve driven the ring around Iceland. I could not recommend this hotel enough if you’re looking to spend a couple of days in Borgarnes.

La propreté des chambres est à revoir (cheveux et cils sur les draps, canapé taché…) Nous avons voulu profiter du bar, absence du barman que nous avions attendu qui nous a pas daigné à vouloir nous servir un verre sans nous demander notre envie de consommation. Présence d’hommes à ce bar qui se sont montrés irrespectueux envers une professionnelle de l’hôtel Les professionnels sont peu cordiales Le spa était beaucoup trop chaud, brûlait la peau tellement que c’était chaud, nous n’avons donc pas pu en profiter

Hotel Vesturland was a nice, clean, and convenient place to stay in Borgarnes. While not in the interesting old part of town, it was easy enough to walk down there for dinner and sight-seeing. The hotel itself was convenient to the local grocery store, a handcraft/git type of store and a big N1 station so handy for traveler's needs.

Average hotel … we were given 211 which had a very noisy extractor fan outside the room. When mentioned … the hotel said that it couldn’t be turned off and offered ear plugs.

Family room was very small for two adults and two children. No fridge and more importantly no hooks to hang coats, towels or anything on and only two drawers (1 obstructed by bunk bed ladder) for clothes for 4 people. We lived out of our back packs. The major issue was the top bunk bed. It was at least 5ft 6 inches from the ground with no guard rail and nothing to stop the mattress moving. We wouldn’t let our 10yr old sleep on it so one of the parents had to instead. Hotel clean and modern but concern over the sleeping arrangements ruined it for us. Accident waiting to happen.

A very nice place. Clean, modern. However, they did not have blackout curtains and the curtains did not do a great job covering light sources from the window. I'm sure this is a great place to stay in the winter, but if you stay in the summer be sure to bring blindfolds for sleeping.

We were made to wait 30 minutes after published check in time for the room to be made ready and even then the floors were wet and the sofa had food crumbs. We were not offered any benefit or compensation and the front desk staff seemed not to care.

The hotel and staff was great. We arrived right at check in tiime and although our room was not ready they did not hesitate to switch us to one that was so we could get settled. The one downside was there was no way to cool the room down so it was quite warm for us. Overall we would recommend the hotel and stay there again in the future.

The staff was outstanding. My wife needed a medication and they went above and beyond to help get it and even brought it to the room. Wow!!

The hotel is not close to a big city (I mean for Iceland's standards) , but quite convenient for our itinerary. We totally recommend it!

Stayed recently at Hotel Vesturland. Location is great and walkable to a number of shops and restaurants. I liked the room and the views as well. Disappointed with the fact that while there is Breakfast available, it's not offered free to guests who have booked through Expedia for some reason.

The front desk staff were very nice and helpful. The room was spacious and clean. There is trail along the waterfront that shows many beautiful views.

A relatively large, modern (built within the last 10 years or so) full-service hotel, located right off a roundabout on the Ring Road and only 1 km from the town center. My twin room featured a large bathroom and shower, a wardrobe with good storage, ample electrical outlets, a small refrigerator and an in-room safe (although, I didn’t feel comfortable using the safe because it was not bolted to a wall or shelf). My only negative comment (besides the safe) is that when there were strong wind gusts you could hear the windows and/or exterior siding vibrate, although there was no draft in the room and I was able to get a good night’s sleep on the comfortable bed. Parking was never a problem. I would also recommend the large breakfast buffet (2900 ISK). It appears that the hotel changed hands earlier in 2024 so reviews for the previous hotel at this address – which were not always positive – are no longer relevant.

Hotel Vesturland was a nice, clean, and convenient place to stay in Borgarnes. While not in the interesting old part of town, it was easy enough to walk down there for dinner and sight-seeing. The hotel itself was convenient to the local grocery store, a handcraft/git type of store and a big N1 station so handy for traveler's needs.

Located in Borganes, an easy jump off point to explore the Snafellsjokul penninsula, this property was a surprise. Modern, clean, great restaurant. There's also a supermarket and wine store across the street. The town itself is small and walk-able with a coupe more decent restaurants.

Wir haben zum ersten Mal in Borgarnes übernachtet und waren sehr zufrieden. Die Zimmer sind modern eingerichtet und ausgesprochen sauber. Besonders positiv hervorzuheben ist das reichhaltige und köstliche Frühstück.

Very clean. Good clothing storage, can empty cases and put aside. Very comfortable bed, slept well. Bathroom- spacious shower, shelves. Lovely buffet breakfast. Relaxing environment in breakfast room and bar. Helpful staff.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at your hotel and wanted to share my wonderful experience! The staff were exceptionally friendly, the room was spacious and comfortable, and the tub in the spa area was perfect for relaxation. I also enjoyed exploring the nearby restaurants, particularly the great pizza place and charming mom-and-pop coffee shop. However, I did notice that there were limited vegetarian options at the hotel restaurant, which I hope you'll consider expanding in the future.

We stayed here two nights and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast buffet was on of the best while in Iceland for 14 days. Convenient to downtown restaurants. And free parking.

Instead of staying in Reykjavik for the first few nights of our 14-day ring road vacation, we decided to stay in Borgarnes for easier access to the national park and to ease the drive to our second stop, Akyreyri. The Vesturland is relatively new and seems to be well maintained. We had very little interaction with any of the hotel staff outside of at the registration desk, but they were very friendly and gave us some good tips on where to look for the aurora. We got lucky and managed to see the aurora on our first night in Iceland. There is plenty of parking. There is a Netto supermarket directly across the street from the hotel. It is not as cheap as Bonus, but it has a wider selection of products and a great bakery section. There are several restaurants within walking distance from the hotel. The gym and spa look good but we did not use either during our two night stay in Borgarnes.

Hotel muito bom, limpíssimo, bem novo, próximo de dois mercados, o Nettó (em frente) é o Bónus (um pouco mais adiante). O quarto é muito bom, bastante espaçoso, limpo e com produtos de banho e higiene de primeira qualidade. O café da manhã é excelente e tem uma equipe que não deixa faltar nada em momento nenhum.
