Amazing place to book. The home was beautifully decorated. So comfortable! Great location. Check in process was easy and prompt. The home is centrally located. Parking was amazing, right in front of the house. The street was so quiet. The home had all of the amenities you need for a very comfortable visit. I highly recommend this home. We loved it. We had our entire family with us. Everyone loved it. Beds were so comfortable. Washer and dryer in the house to use. The front porch was perfect for drinking your morning coffee, reading, visiting with family. We travel a lot, always with VRBO. This is one of the best we have rented. I highly recommend this property for anyone visiting Vancouver. Owners, thank you for allowing us to have an amazing visit.

This home is part of your journey and Vancouver experience. The second you walk in the door you take a deep breath and feel the comfort this absolutely beautiful character home gives you, feels a lot like Nonna's kitchen hugs. There is charm and so much art that you get to notice at every turn. With plenty of space for your whole group or family. Beds were comfortable, the house was clean and in a peaceful neighborhood surrounded with gorgeous plants and serene vibes. Parking may be tight at times but that's just fine as there are many places in walking distance or close to other transit options. The host left an amazing list of recommendations for local eats and sights which were very helpful. "Little Italy" as we called it is close by and was fantastic, get the gelato! So good The house manager was the sweetest, very helpful, quick to reply and ensured we had everything we needed for a wonderful stay. Staying in this home made the trip perfect,it was good to have such a beautiful piece of relaxation to come home to at the end of a busy day around Van city.I would definitely recommend this property for your next stay

The house has lots of living space, particularly liked the back deck and front porch. Spacious bedrooms, 3 bathrooms handy for the 5 adults and baby. Location great for easily accessing public transit, driving and walking.

Booking and pre-arrival dialogue was timely and useful. Check-in onsite was in-person, concise and helpful responding to any questions about property and nearby amenities. Great central location in a neighbourhood with access in all directions and we were able to park right in front of the house every arrival, regardless of time.All amenities were clean and in proper working order. Lots of little extras present that you don't always find in other properties that are just focused on generating. Property was more than a house, it looked and felt like a home. Every wall in every room had a story to tell of love, life and laughter.Noise in the neighbourhood from surrounding properties and nearby major roads wasn't obtrusive and we hardly ever noticed sounds from space above or below us other than the occasional floor squeak - as any house of this vintage and character would have (and that's a good thing :).From a safety perspective, did not see or hear any indication of risk/crime on or near property. No homeless in back alleys or park spaces nearby. Encounters on the sidewalk was mostly to be a dog walk and friendly :).Felt privileged to find and stay at this gem. Best wishes to all attached to the property in the year ahead.

Great place, we unfortunately were there during a heat wave and being an old character house, there was no aircon. Lots of fans though!! Beds could be more comfortable but otherwise and comfortable house. The manager was fast, prompt and efficient.

I've not experienced any any other vacation short-term rental quite like this. A beautiful home with great patio spaces, we felt incredibly comfortable for the week we were there. I loved the way the house is deliberately decorated to reflect the owners; it felt like we were staying in their home and not just the latest in a line of renters. The building is old and creaky, but that didn't bother our group much. The manager was a pleasure to work with. He was very available to us and answered all our questions. Best manager experience I've ever had! We loved being so close to transit and the bike share. I'm glad we ordered grocery delivery on our first night because it is a bit of a walk to the Safeway. This is on a beautiful street, and this house is one of the nicer ones on it. The owners clearly take care of the yard and it made it even nicer to enjoy a glass of wine on the patio. We were there during an unseasonable heatwave. Although the house doesn't have AC, the fans in all the bedrooms did a great job of making the rooms comfortable. Although there are renters in the attic and basement suites, we didn't hear them at all. Excellent soundproofing and courteous neighbours. All in all, we'd be happy to recommend this suite to others.

We loved this house – it was perfect in every way. The front and back porches provided so much serenity during our busy weekend. The artwork, decorations, and books made us feel right at home – we honestly never wanted to leave. Thank you so much to our hosts for the warm welcome and for allowing us to stay in your beautiful space. We will definitely be back!

We took a cruise from Vancouver to Alaska and decided to stay here for a few days on the front end of our trip. The manager met us at the house and was very welcoming. He even set up an extra bed for us. We had no issues while there. The house was in a safe neighborhood. It was well stocked with toilet paper and had laundry. We chose this house because it was centrally located to the bus stops connected to Skytrain. Miraculously, the busses and skytrain were large enough to accommodate our family and luggage! It was 2 adults and our 7 children ages 5-17. We did not rent a car and although there was a bit of walking, we figured out Vancouver’s public transit. We did end up taking an Uber back from Stanley park after a long day. We also took a taxi to the cruise terminal for ease of hauling luggage. The weather was very cooperative so we spent most of our time on the back deck. If it weren’t, we might have had trouble sitting together inside for meals. We had no problems cooking, but spices could use refills. It would be helpful to have a list of suggested restaurants nearby. We were surprised that there was a lower level of the house and upstairs level of the house (both with their own entrances) that were also rented out. We had no contact with the people, but thought it should be worth noting. I passed up other homes because of this-although it really was not a problem in this case. There was a park about a block away that the kids were able to play. Thank you Maria!

The owner's son was very responsive during the booking process, and was great at answering all our questions.When we arrived, we appreciated a basic level of cleanliness- the main surfaces and the bathrooms and sheets were all clean and fans set up and running to try and cool the home during the heat wave. The lovely property manager greeted us and gave us a good tour of the home and there were some good recommendations for attractions and restaurants on the fridge. However, there was a distinct and very strong smell of urine coming from the main bedroom. We told the owner and property manager and they were quick to try and deal with it- even going as far as bleaching part of the roof and bringing out someone from pest control (it wasn't likely a raccoon but some other creature hanging out on the roof) which we really appreciated. Unfortunately the smell persisted in the downstairs bathroom.The home is very quirky and you definitely feel like you're living in someone's home (more effort could be put in to removing more personal objects). What really could have been better is the overall cleanliness- the house needs a really good clean (walls, light switches, back deck etc). And although the sheets and towels were clean, they all need to be updated/replaced as they are old and stained. We did really enjoy the cool front deck and the proximity to Commercial Drive (my old haunt) and general great access to driving to the many attractions. Thank you for our stay.

Absolutely beautiful 1910s Craftsman home with such character. Super comfy and cozy. Tons of room. Some of the kitchen pots, pans, spices could be cleaner (got that aged stickiness) but a small quibble. Love the mix of residential and commercial/proximity to downtown. Fantastic hosts. Would definitely stay here again!

Bereits in 2019 hatte ich das Privileg in diesem wirklich schönen viktorianischen Haus meine Herbstferien zu verbringen. Auch diesmal war ich wieder rundum begeistert (siehe meine wirklich detaillierte Bewertung dazu in 2019). Ausstattung und Lage sprechen für sich. Das Wetter erlaubte diesmal zudem, daß ich den Porch nutzen konnte – ein Traum. Die Betreuung durch den Angestellten Gerry als auch durch die freundlichen Vermieter selbst war wieder ausgezeichnet. Als an einem Tag die Alarmanlage ausfiel wurde diese noch am selben Tag wieder instandgesetzt. Prima! Die 2 ½ Bäder waren ebenfalls wieder picobello sauber. Gern komme ich wieder vorbei – mein herzlicher Dank geht an die Vermieter Maria und Riccardo.

The property was overgrown but also they were infested with raccoons and we could smell, hear and see them. Two of our members could smell raccoon urine the moment we went inside and that is not a very nice smell! The "garage" in the back garden was fixed up and rented out as was the basement and the third floor as well. So there were 4 rental properties in one which I was not expecting at all. The house was in need of some repair especially the rear deck which had boards lifting up. One evening, the raccoons were making such a racket we went inside just in case they would come out. The raccoons entered the house through the ceiling of the back deck. Apparently the owners were aware of the raccoon problem but had not done anything about them. We would like out money back for this shabby property.

The home was lovely. The steps were a slight problem for an 84 yr old and a 75 yr old, but we managed. Needed napkins and paper towels but everything else was wonderful.

The property was very nice and clean, great accommodations for our family, and the host family was clear and prompt with all communications, very friendly and helpful, and everything was as described. We were a family group of seven (parents, adult children and a grand-child) who stayed for a week and this house suited our needs exactly. This is an older house that has been beautifully renovated and well maintained. It is wonderfully decorated with art, photos and sculpture everywhere. The house is roomy with common areas for the group and private rooms for quiet time. The location is ideal for a stay in Vancouver - central, close to major thoroughfares and transit but in a quiet residential neighbourhood. I would highly recommend this property for a larger group.

This home is part of your journey and Vancouver experience. The second you walk in the door you take a deep breath and feel the comfort this absolutely beautiful character home gives you, feels a lot like Nonna's kitchen hugs. There is charm and so much art that you get to notice at every turn. With plenty of space for your whole group or family. Beds were comfortable, the house was clean and in a peaceful neighborhood surrounded with gorgeous plants and serene vibes. Parking may be tight at times but that's just fine as there are many places in walking distance or close to other transit options. The host left an amazing list of recommendations for local eats and sights which were very helpful. "Little Italy" as we called it is close by and was fantastic, get the gelato! So good The house manager was the sweetest, very helpful, quick to reply and ensured we had everything we needed for a wonderful stay. Staying in this home made the trip perfect,it was good to have such a beautiful piece of relaxation to come home to at the end of a busy day around Van city.I would definitely recommend this property for your next stay

The house has lots of living space, particularly liked the back deck and front porch. Spacious bedrooms, 3 bathrooms handy for the 5 adults and baby. Location great for easily accessing public transit, driving and walking.

House is quite old with lots of stairs to get up to the bedrooms and lots of artwork. Neighborhood is nice, and has easy driving access to main tourist attractions. My friends and I rent a house each summer and this is the first one where the TV actually worked without problem! We were surprised at how expensive some sites were, like Grouse Mountain and Capilano Bridge. Granville Island has lots of shops but it’s best to take a cab there as parking is almost nonexistent.

A great location and comfortable home to stay in though you do feel like you are staying in another persons’ personal space given the photo’s and memorbilia. The pass way between the front hall and kitchen is low. I suggest putting a sign here. There were several places to sit outside which was lovely. There are a lot of stairs between the first and second floor. As seniors we all found the stairs a bit difficult. If you are looking for a modern home with high end furniture this is not the Vrbo for you. However if you want a homey place, with some antique furniture and older couches, where you can stay with a few friends or family, this is a good place to stay.

Booking and pre-arrival dialogue was timely and useful. Check-in onsite was in-person, concise and helpful responding to any questions about property and nearby amenities. Great central location in a neighbourhood with access in all directions and we were able to park right in front of the house every arrival, regardless of time.All amenities were clean and in proper working order. Lots of little extras present that you don't always find in other properties that are just focused on generating. Property was more than a house, it looked and felt like a home. Every wall in every room had a story to tell of love, life and laughter.Noise in the neighbourhood from surrounding properties and nearby major roads wasn't obtrusive and we hardly ever noticed sounds from space above or below us other than the occasional floor squeak - as any house of this vintage and character would have (and that's a good thing :).From a safety perspective, did not see or hear any indication of risk/crime on or near property. No homeless in back alleys or park spaces nearby. Encounters on the sidewalk was mostly to be a dog walk and friendly :).Felt privileged to find and stay at this gem. Best wishes to all attached to the property in the year ahead.

Great place, we unfortunately were there during a heat wave and being an old character house, there was no aircon. Lots of fans though!! Beds could be more comfortable but otherwise and comfortable house. The manager was fast, prompt and efficient.

I've not experienced any any other vacation short-term rental quite like this. A beautiful home with great patio spaces, we felt incredibly comfortable for the week we were there. I loved the way the house is deliberately decorated to reflect the owners; it felt like we were staying in their home and not just the latest in a line of renters. The building is old and creaky, but that didn't bother our group much. The manager was a pleasure to work with. He was very available to us and answered all our questions. Best manager experience I've ever had! We loved being so close to transit and the bike share. I'm glad we ordered grocery delivery on our first night because it is a bit of a walk to the Safeway. This is on a beautiful street, and this house is one of the nicer ones on it. The owners clearly take care of the yard and it made it even nicer to enjoy a glass of wine on the patio. We were there during an unseasonable heatwave. Although the house doesn't have AC, the fans in all the bedrooms did a great job of making the rooms comfortable. Although there are renters in the attic and basement suites, we didn't hear them at all. Excellent soundproofing and courteous neighbours. All in all, we'd be happy to recommend this suite to others.

With 7 people, it's no small feat to find a place that will house all of us comfortably. This was the perfect home base, and we looked forward to returning every night we were in Vancouver. There was something new and interesting in the house everywhere we turned, and we had enough space to maneuver around each other. Communication did get a bit jumbled at times because there were so many of us and there was a separate property manager along with the owners, to add even more lines of contact. But the property manager was very accommodating and the small issues (miscommunication about the bedding, dishwasher instructions being different between what was said verbally and what was written down, etc) were figured out very quickly. We enjoyed our time here a lot. A lovingly decorated home.

We thought this house was wonderful! We loved the location and the neighborhood! It is also in a very convenient area and it was easy to get to almost anywhere we wanted to go. We had great communication with the owners and the property manager before and during our stay and they made the whole process very easy.

The owner's son was very responsive during the booking process, and was great at answering all our questions.When we arrived, we appreciated a basic level of cleanliness- the main surfaces and the bathrooms and sheets were all clean and fans set up and running to try and cool the home during the heat wave. The lovely property manager greeted us and gave us a good tour of the home and there were some good recommendations for attractions and restaurants on the fridge. However, there was a distinct and very strong smell of urine coming from the main bedroom. We told the owner and property manager and they were quick to try and deal with it- even going as far as bleaching part of the roof and bringing out someone from pest control (it wasn't likely a raccoon but some other creature hanging out on the roof) which we really appreciated. Unfortunately the smell persisted in the downstairs bathroom.The home is very quirky and you definitely feel like you're living in someone's home (more effort could be put in to removing more personal objects). What really could have been better is the overall cleanliness- the house needs a really good clean (walls, light switches, back deck etc). And although the sheets and towels were clean, they all need to be updated/replaced as they are old and stained. We did really enjoy the cool front deck and the proximity to Commercial Drive (my old haunt) and general great access to driving to the many attractions. Thank you for our stay.

Stayed a couple nights to explore Vancouver area before emarking on a cruise. Had 5 people, 2 couples and a 26 yr old. House fit us all comfortably. House is as described. We were not in the house very much, nor did we cook there. Great communication with owner and the manager. Manager went above and beyond by meeting and giving us a tour of the the hoyse after midnight when our flight was delayed. Parking was not a pronlem. Was a cozy stay.

Bereits in 2019 hatte ich das Privileg in diesem wirklich schönen viktorianischen Haus meine Herbstferien zu verbringen. Auch diesmal war ich wieder rundum begeistert (siehe meine wirklich detaillierte Bewertung dazu in 2019). Ausstattung und Lage sprechen für sich. Das Wetter erlaubte diesmal zudem, daß ich den Porch nutzen konnte – ein Traum. Die Betreuung durch den Angestellten Gerry als auch durch die freundlichen Vermieter selbst war wieder ausgezeichnet. Als an einem Tag die Alarmanlage ausfiel wurde diese noch am selben Tag wieder instandgesetzt. Prima! Die 2 ½ Bäder waren ebenfalls wieder picobello sauber. Gern komme ich wieder vorbei – mein herzlicher Dank geht an die Vermieter Maria und Riccardo.

We took a cruise from Vancouver to Alaska and decided to stay here for a few days on the front end of our trip. The manager met us at the house and was very welcoming. He even set up an extra bed for us. We had no issues while there. The house was in a safe neighborhood. It was well stocked with toilet paper and had laundry. We chose this house because it was centrally located to the bus stops connected to Skytrain. Miraculously, the busses and skytrain were large enough to accommodate our family and luggage! It was 2 adults and our 7 children ages 5-17. We did not rent a car and although there was a bit of walking, we figured out Vancouver’s public transit. We did end up taking an Uber back from Stanley park after a long day. We also took a taxi to the cruise terminal for ease of hauling luggage. The weather was very cooperative so we spent most of our time on the back deck. If it weren’t, we might have had trouble sitting together inside for meals. We had no problems cooking, but spices could use refills. It would be helpful to have a list of suggested restaurants nearby. We were surprised that there was a lower level of the house and upstairs level of the house (both with their own entrances) that were also rented out. We had no contact with the people, but thought it should be worth noting. I passed up other homes because of this-although it really was not a problem in this case. There was a park about a block away that the kids were able to play. Thank you Maria!

With 7 people, it's no small feat to find a place that will house all of us comfortably. This was the perfect home base, and we looked forward to returning every night we were in Vancouver. There was something new and interesting in the house everywhere we turned, and we had enough space to maneuver around each other. Communication did get a bit jumbled at times because there were so many of us and there was a separate property manager along with the owners, to add even more lines of contact. House is ideal for family or two couples - affordable compared to staying downtown. Neighborhood was delightful! 10-15 min walk to bus and train. Kitchen was well-equipped and bedding comfortable. Gerry checked us in and was very welcoming and easy to reach and Maria, the owner was also quick to reply to questions. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Amazing place to book. The home was beautifully decorated. So comfortable! Great location. Check in process was easy and prompt. The home is centrally located. Parking was amazing, right in front of the house. The street was so quiet. The home had all of the amenities you need for a very comfortable visit. I highly recommend this home. We loved it. We had our entire family with us. Everyone loved it. Beds were so comfortable. Washer and dryer in the house to use. The front porch was perfect for drinking your morning coffee, reading, visiting with family. We travel a lot, always with VRBO. This is one of the best we have rented. I highly recommend this property for anyone visiting Vancouver. Owners, thank you for allowing us to have an amazing visit.

We thought this house was wonderful! We loved the location and the neighborhood! It is also in a very convenient area and it was easy to get to almost anywhere we wanted to go. We had great communication with the owners and the property manager before and during our stay and they made the whole process very easy.

Absolutely beautiful 1910s Craftsman home with such character. Super comfy and cozy. Tons of room. Some of the kitchen pots, pans, spices could be cleaner (got that aged stickiness) but a small quibble. Love the mix of residential and commercial/proximity to downtown. Fantastic hosts. Would definitely stay here again!

We had a wonderful time in the Sammarco home. It was perfect for 6 people to comfortably stay. Neighbourhood is very charming but slightly out of the way from major attractions for the city. Will be my go to place to stay when in Vancouver with larger groups.

Booking and pre-arrival dialogue was timely and useful. Check-in onsite was in-person, concise and helpful responding to any questions about property and nearby amenities. Great central location in a neighbourhood with access in all directions and we were able to park right in front of the house every arrival, regardless of time.All amenities were clean and in proper working order. Lots of little extras present that you don't always find in other properties that are just focused on generating. Property was more than a house, it looked and felt like a home. Every wall in every room had a story to tell of love, life and laughter.Noise in the neighbourhood from surrounding properties and nearby major roads wasn't obtrusive and we hardly ever noticed sounds from space above or below us other than the occasional floor squeak - as any house of this vintage and character would have (and that's a good thing :).From a safety perspective, did not see or hear any indication of risk/crime on or near property. No homeless in back alleys or park spaces nearby. Encounters on the sidewalk was mostly to be a dog walk and friendly :).Felt privileged to find and stay at this gem. Best wishes to all attached to the property in the year ahead.

We took a cruise from Vancouver to Alaska and decided to stay here for a few days on the front end of our trip. The manager met us at the house and was very welcoming. He even set up an extra bed for us. We had no issues while there. The house was in a safe neighborhood. It was well stocked with toilet paper and had laundry. We chose this house because it was centrally located to the bus stops connected to Skytrain. Miraculously, the busses and skytrain were large enough to accommodate our family and luggage! It was 2 adults and our 7 children ages 5-17. We did not rent a car and although there was a bit of walking, we figured out Vancouver’s public transit. We did end up taking an Uber back from Stanley park after a long day. We also took a taxi to the cruise terminal for ease of hauling luggage. The weather was very cooperative so we spent most of our time on the back deck. If it weren’t, we might have had trouble sitting together inside for meals. We had no problems cooking, but spices could use refills. It would be helpful to have a list of suggested restaurants nearby. We were surprised that there was a lower level of the house and upstairs level of the house (both with their own entrances) that were also rented out. We had no contact with the people, but thought it should be worth noting. I passed up other homes because of this-although it really was not a problem in this case. There was a park about a block away that the kids were able to play. Thank you Maria!

We were a family group of seven (parents, adult children and a grand-child) who stayed for a week and this house suited our needs exactly. This is an older house that has been beautifully renovated and well maintained. It is wonderfully decorated with art, photos and sculpture everywhere. The house is roomy with common areas for the group and private rooms for quiet time. The location is ideal for a stay in Vancouver - central, close to major thoroughfares and transit but in a quiet residential neighbourhood. I would highly recommend this property for a larger group.

We took a brief spring break trip to Vancouver with our 16 year old son. My wife loves Victorian homes so this place was a great fit. We had plenty of room and felt like we were right at home. The house is in a great location to most places you want to go.space and felt

This home is part of your journey and Vancouver experience. The second you walk in the door you take a deep breath and feel the comfort this absolutely beautiful character home gives you, feels a lot like Nonna's kitchen hugs. There is charm and so much art that you get to notice at every turn. With plenty of space for your whole group or family. Beds were comfortable, the house was clean and in a peaceful neighborhood surrounded with gorgeous plants and serene vibes. Parking may be tight at times but that's just fine as there are many places in walking distance or close to other transit options. The host left an amazing list of recommendations for local eats and sights which were very helpful. "Little Italy" as we called it is close by and was fantastic, get the gelato! So good The house manager was the sweetest, very helpful, quick to reply and ensured we had everything we needed for a wonderful stay. Staying in this home made the trip perfect,it was good to have such a beautiful piece of relaxation to come home to at the end of a busy day around Van city.I would definitely recommend this property for your next stay

My children, granddaughter and I stayed at this lovely, comfortable home after travelling from across the country and the ocean! We had such a fun time revisiting Vancouver and getting to know Mount Pleasant. The kitchen, back deck and dining room were perfect for meals with family and friends!

The home was lovely. The steps were a slight problem for an 84 yr old and a 75 yr old, but we managed. Needed napkins and paper towels but everything else was wonderful.

This house is the perfect fit for any stay in Vancouver. Location is on a beautiful street; close enough to access the bus and the metro easily. Thoughtful touches are all over the house, like extra umbrellas at the door. The house is like staying at home; comforting and full of anything you could think of needing.
