Howzit Hostels Hawaii

Great location in town of Hilo. Warning to people like us who saw it advertised with Air conditioning. There is NO AC at any room in the hostel, including the private quad. If coming in the summer, it can be pretty hot. Also the place was very dusty and the fan they provided us was filthy. Bathrooms can use a deep clean as well. Staff was always nice and helpful though.

Over all great. Wish there had cooler rooms, drinks for sale. Coin operated washer n dryer. Loved the beds. Curtains and under bed lockers that could be locked. We return on next trip to Hilo.

The Staff were kind and helpful. Eva and Joey made you feel safe and welcomed and very helpful. good energy and clean kitchen and property.

amazing spot in Hilo town. The hustle and bustle sounds can be heard right in the area of this establishment. But, it shows that the Big Island is reviving back. The staff are an international group and well versed in customer service. The guests that stays here are pretty much a like-minded bunch.

The place is good, convienient walking location to downtown and grocery. Young crowd. They Dont have AC that was a bit hard. The staff is really great (except one young guy who looked hungover and was rude). pancakes are yum. They keep kitchen clean and good amenities overall. Bathrooms only have shampoo and conditioner no bath soap, so carry your own. The other guests were very friendly and nice. They have community whatsapp group to share updates. Very young crowd so if elderly people in your group it might feel out of place. The place is on 2nd story with lots of stairs so if u have too many bags it will be tough. You have to find street parking and move the car every few hours based on restrictions on the street.. They have a tv in living area so u can see a match or volcano eruption status live.
