Absolutely loved it - beautiful property, the staff are all super polite and friendly, the golf course is beautiful and the club house is very relaxed. A real mix of people staying here - noisy and buzzy family pool area with the option of the club house infinity overlooking the 9th hole, if you like quiet. Overall 5 stars

Beautiful new property in the middle of a valley, perfect for a long weekend away! Only improvement we recommend would be more sun loungers and greater capacity for the main restaurant, so can cater to all when busy.

Beautiful hotel with wonderful staff - nothing was too much for them and they were so lovely with our 4 year old. Heated pool was perfect - it meant we could even swim on the chillier rainy day! We had a room upgrade and were lucky to stay in the two bedroom valley view with a terrace. It was stunning and ticked every box of comfort and luxury. The complex isn't too big, so everything within easy walking distance. We also felt it was calm and peaceful etc. A car is needed if you want to venture out of the conplex for anything - nothing is in reasonable walking distance We also played golf - this was also very enjoyable.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at the newly opened Viceroy Ombria Algarve, and it exceeded our expectations in nearly every way. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome—genuinely friendly, attentive, and always eager to help without being intrusive. Outstanding hotel, upgraded on arrival. Staff couldn’t have been more helpful. Excellent pools for kids, great kids club, very good gym. We were not even playing golf, just a great place regardless of golfing or not. On site restaurants/cafes a little too expensive if staying on site. Recommend hiring a car to get out and explore local vicinity/restaurants etc. overall fantastic hotel for a family or couples.

The stay was amazing! Joana at the front desk was super helpful. Ana at the spa gave an amazing massage. The property is beautiful and very clean. The room was spacious and was very comfortable.

Property is secluded and beautiful, very new and very quiet. Room was spacious, bed was comfortable, and the room and property are spotlessly clean. Staff was attentive and helpful. The only drawback was in-room AC - it didn’t seem to be working, even after we complained and had it checked. It was a bit muggy in the room given it was Portugal in July. The pools were beautiful, sweeping views, and the restaurants were fantastic. This was a really relaxing and beautiful property, would definitely go back!

This is a truly 5 star hotel, which to say it had only been open 1 day when we arrived, felt like it had been running for years so smoothly did everything run! The real difference here however is the staff who from checking in at reception made us feel welcome and at home. The accommodation is also superb (we stayed in a 1 bedroom residence with terrace and valley view)- spacious, clean and the housekeeping is perfect. Nice touch with a bottle of wine on arrival as well! Excellent breakfast, meals at the pool bar and also the restuarant and also probablyvthe best room service we have ever had at any hotel. So we are very satisfied and pleased with our stay and would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone thinking of having a peaceful Algarve holiday- who needs a beach?

The hotel is truly beautiful. The highlights are definitely the rooms and the two pools. We will certainly come back! A bit more smiling from all staff members would make the stay even more wonderful. Paolo (from the breakfast team) is incredibly warm and welcoming—you can really feel his passion for his job and his guests. He should be the benchmark for all employees. A small tip for future guests: please check if school holidays are taking place in the UK. Unfortunately, some guests brought their duty-free gin bottles to the pool, and during meals, there was often a noticeable lack of respect towards the staff. Of course, children can occasionally drop food, but after some meals, the floor looked like a battlefield. The British guests didn’t seem to care.

This beautiful new resort made for a lovely vacation. The location is very nice, in the middle of a golf course, the staff is excellent, great breakfast, very tasteful decor. Our room was super comfortable, especially the nice big, firm bed. If you require an American King, this bed will not disappoint! The layout of the resort is unique, with the majority of the rooms/suites in a series of smaller buildings with no elevators, so I will say that if you have any issues with stairs or managing inclines/declines, you should choose your room strategically with the reservation agent. I would highly recommend the Viceroy at Ombria.

The hotel is truly beautiful. The highlights are definitely the rooms and the two pools. We will certainly come back! A bit more smiling from all staff members would make the stay even more wonderful. Paolo (from the breakfast team) is incredibly warm and welcoming—you can really feel his passion for his job and his guests. He should be the benchmark for all employees. A small tip for future guests: please check if school holidays are taking place in the UK. Unfortunately, some guests brought their duty-free gin bottles to the pool, and during meals, there was often a noticeable lack of respect towards the staff. Of course, children can occasionally drop food, but after some meals, the floor looked like a battlefield. The British guests didn’t seem to care.

Hotel product is excellent but service level terrible in the restaurant. They obviously haven’t been able to get the staff in this new and more remote location leading to a dreadful experience for diners. Main courses at dinner came out with 20 minutes between them and breakfast time orders had a 50% chance of not being delivered. Lots of stressed guests and staff as a result. We gave up on the restaurant as it was so slow and negative and we cooked in the room instead. That’s not the way it should be and I would say the restaurant experience makes the hotel unbookable unless they can sort it out.

The real difference here however is the staff who from checking in at reception made us feel welcome and at home. Fantastic for kids where you can let them roam without fretting. This hotel isn’t close to anything but what you get in exchange is peace and relaxation. We stayed at the Conrad 15km away and preferred the Viceroy.

This beautiful new resort made for a lovely vacation. The location is very nice, in the middle of a golf course, the staff is excellent, great breakfast, very tasteful decor. Our room was super comfortable, especially the nice big, firm bed. If you require an American King, this bed will not disappoint! The layout of the resort is unique, with the majority of the rooms/suites in a series of smaller buildings with no elevators, so I will say that if you have any issues with stairs or managing inclines/declines, you should choose your room strategically with the reservation agent. I would highly recommend the Viceroy at Ombria.

This is a property that just barely opened and as such the facilities are in beautiful, pristine condition. The staff overall were all still very much learning but were well intentioned and provided excellent service at every turn. The one main restaurant open during our stay also had excellent service and food. Our only complaint worth airing here was ongoing issues with the door key system not working - no fun trekking back to the desk multiple times to get a new key…this is a basic of hotel management and it simply was not working properly our entire stay. All to say we would stay here again if in the area and I expect they will have the kinks worked out by next summer’s high season.

Property is secluded and beautiful, very new and very quiet. Room was spacious, bed was comfortable, and the room and property are spotlessly clean. Staff was attentive and helpful. The only drawback was in-room AC - it didn’t seem to be working, even after we complained and had it checked. It was a bit muggy in the room given it was Portugal in July. The pools were beautiful, sweeping views, and the restaurants were fantastic. This was a really relaxing and beautiful property, would definitely go back!

Beautiful, well maintained resort! We are a family of 4, we stayed in double room with a valley view. Bathroom was a large spa-like space. My kids enjoyed the pool and snacks from the pool bar. We played two round of golf on the property course. Easy drive to the marina and beaches!

Excellent séjour dans un hôtel magnifique, très calme, au cœur des montagnes, avec une architecture superbe et une vue à couper le souffle. C’est l’endroit idéal pour se relaxer et vraiment déconnecter quelques jours. Les piscines sont fantastiques, dont une chauffée, avec toujours des transats disponibles et des serviettes en libre-service. Le service est exceptionnel : le personnel est extrêmement attentionné, toujours présent sans être envahissant. Très bon bar de piscine avec un service rapide et un snacking de qualité : salades, pizzas, menus enfants… tout est très bon. Le restaurant principal est également excellent, avec une mention spéciale pour les pâtes aux crevettes, absolument délicieuses. Excellent séjour dans un hôtel magnifique, très calme, au cœur des montagnes, avec une architecture superbe et une vue à couper le souffle. C’est l’endroit idéal pour se relaxer et vraiment déconnecter quelques jours. Les piscines sont fantastiques, dont une chauffée, avec toujours des transats disponibles et des serviettes en libre-service. Le service est exceptionnel : le personnel est extrêmement attentionné, toujours présent sans être envahissant. Très bon bar de piscine avec un service rapide et un snacking de qualité : salades, pizzas, menus enfants… tout est très bon. Le restaurant principal est également excellent, avec une mention spéciale pour les pâtes aux crevettes, absolument délicieuses. A fresh and modern hotel with spacious rooms and beautiful surroundings. It was a little disappointing that not all of the restaurants were open during our stay. The service from the staff was a mixed experience. Some employees were very pleasant and helpful, while others still have a lot to learn when it comes to customer service, flexibility, and accommodating guests’ needs. Several of the reception staff were not very solution-oriented. They seemed more concerned with what was convenient for themselves rather than finding solutions that suited the guest. At times, there was also a certain level of arrogance that I, as a customer, found difficult to accept. The hotel states on its website that it offers a shuttle service to the beach. When available. However, you should not assume that the shuttle will always be available. They have one vehicle with eight seats, operating three times a day. If you are unable to get a seat, you will have to arrange and pay for your own transportation. The main restaurant had a good selection of options on the menu and the food was perfectly fine. At times the restaurant could be quite chaotic and they seemed to struggle with handling a large number of orders and guests at the same time. There were frequent mistakes with orders and the food was often delivered to the table quite late. This is another area where there is room for improvement. A more efficient flow would make a big difference and help the hotel live up to its 5-star rating.
