Room was nice except for ac . It was either freezing or off , no mid range . The pool was very green and hot tub was down for maintenance. Could improve on the pool side furniture also . Disappointed about pool and especially the hot tub . Continental breakfast was very slim , no juice or hot foods Ice machine never had more than a scoop of ice in it . It was expected to buy ice at $2 bag These are things I believe we paid for and did not get .

The man who checked me in was unwelcoming. He did not give any information about the breakfast or its location. He gave no information about how to operate the TV, and there was none in the room. The breakfast was limited in choice and provided in a factory-like lunch room given no attention to decoration or friendly ambience. My room itself was clean, functional, and well-appointed. The room was the best part of my stay.

The room was under construction and we were not told about that before booking. Drywall sanding dust was all over the walls. The toilet needed to be cleaned. The bathroom door would not close completely because it hit the carpet strip. The refrigerator is quite small, but we were thankful to have one to use. The remote was missing from the room and we had to request a replacement, which they promptly provided. There was a huge pile of mattresses behind the building, which everyone sees as they enter the parking lot (there is no parking lot entrance at the front). I wonder how long they've been sitting there. Our mattress did not seem to be new. The continental breakfast was quite small. We did not partake. I'm not sure we will be back to this property. It seems to keep going down in quality with each change of ownership.

Not the worst place I have stayed, it was okay but found garbage in room still from previous people (dirt sock and tank top/trash) and just seemed run down/outdated for a king suite with jet tub. Remotes for both tv were missing/ staff did bring one for the rv in bed room right up. They offered a breakfest but it was just bagels and muffins, better than nothing. Wasn’t real impressed overall, would not be a place I spend that much to stay again

Arrived at the hotel and was assigned a room. No problems there. Then went up to the room to find the room hadn’t been cleaned. The bed was not made with sheets from prior visitor. Bathroom was not clean either. Went back to the check-in desk and informed the staff. They assigned another room. I then went fly fishing and then returned to the hotel. Upon arrival late at night I discovered someone was in my room! A lady and her two grand daughters with my belongings still in the room. We contacted staff and had to wait several minutes before staff arrived back at the desk. Finally received a room reassignment. Fortunately none of my belongings were missing. The staff apologized and indicated a partial refund will be provided. Needless to say, a very poor experience!

The room was spotlessly clean! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The pool and hot tub area was clean and well kept. The bed was soft and comfy. The surrounding area was so laid back and peaceful. It was located very close to a beautiful canoe launch. Over all 5 stars and I dont say that often.

The room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. The pillows were flat and there was not enough towels and washcloths in the bathroom for two people. Limited dining in the hotel and area. The clerk referred us to a restaurant that was out of business for some time.

Continental breakfast was less than mediocre. The pool is posted "no children under 4", like seriously?!?! If you wanna watch TV, you better have a Netflix, YouTube TV, or Disney membership (luckily we did); however, the room was spacious, the bed comfortable, and staff was readily available.

Guy at the front desk was rude, he closed the pool more than 10 minutes early and he knew we were coming down for a quick swim. When i told him that we wanted a quick dip in the pool, he gave me a disgusting look and said the pools closed. This is not the room i paid for, all the furniture is beat up and broke. The bed has stains all over it. I will never come back here again. False advertisement at the Ausable Valley Inn

Convenient stay for Au Sable River activities. AK was very accommodating for our 130am arrival, room was clean & beds were comfortable. Great water pressure, very hot water if you need it. Place could use new pillows, so best bring your own, and the “continental” breakfast is just yogurt & packaged bagels/muffins. Highly recommend The Grind Coffee shop for variety of coffees & breakfast. The Riverhouse & Ma Deeters were great for dinner.

We contacted staff and had to wait several minutes before staff arrived back at the desk. Finally received a room reassignment. Fortunately none of my belongings were missing. The staff apologized and indicated a partial refund will be provided. Needless to say, a very poor experience!
Arrived at the hotel and was assigned a room. No problems there. Then went up to the room to find the room hadn’t been cleaned. The bed was not made with sheets from prior visitor. Bathroom was not clean either. Went back to the check-in desk and informed the staff. They assigned another room. I then went fly fishing and then returned to the hotel. Upon arrival late at night I discovered someone was in my room! A lady and her two grand daughters with my belongings still in the room. Overall the stay was good. I had trouble when I arrived with the booking. The motel had me down with a higher price than what I had reserved. It took some discussion and having and talking to the manager, but it was resolved. For some reason, their system had me down as an Expedia reservation not Hotels.com. My emailed receipt saved me.

We have stayed here many times in the past. This was our first stay since the new owner took over. For the most part the new owner has kept everything the same. However the breakfast that is included is very limited, and a quarter of what was originally offered so do not rely on it. They also do not restock it as it runs out, you have to ask for things. The rooms are not cleaned daily, so you have to ask for new towels or anything you may have used to be replenished. They were in the process of some of the mattresses as there was a pile of old mattresses by the dumpster however the mattresses in our room were still older. The rooms could also use newer or better pillows. Our room was clean and smelled fresh, as well as the hallway and grounds were cleaned too. There were some people that were part of our group that had issues with their rooms and some were handled and corrected right away others was not acceptable on how they handled it. Overall and compared to other places to stay in the area this is still the best option and we did not have a bad experience. It was just missing the friendly, welcoming owners and their touches that we we're use to when staying here.

Convenient stay for Au Sable River activities. AK was very accommodating for our 130am arrival, room was clean & beds were comfortable. Great water pressure, very hot water if you need it. Place could use new pillows, so best bring your own, and the “continental” breakfast is just yogurt & packaged bagels/muffins. Highly recommend The Grind Coffee shop for variety of coffees & breakfast. The Riverhouse & Ma Deeters were great for dinner.

The hotel is awesome and just a few hundred feet from the river. We visited in late December 2024 so we didn't get a chance to actually go down to the river, but there are other places to get to the river then from the hotel.

The room was spotlessly clean! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The pool and hot tub area was clean and well kept. The bed was soft and comfy. The surrounding area was so laid back and peaceful. It was located very close to a beautiful canoe launch. Over all 5 stars and I dont say that often.

Continental breakfast was less than mediocre. The pool is posted "no children under 4", like seriously?!?! If you wanna watch TV, you better have a Netflix, YouTube TV, or Disney membership (luckily we did); however, the room was spacious, the bed comfortable, and staff was readily available.

Room was nice except for ac . It was either freezing or off , no mid range . The pool was very green and hot tub was down for maintenance. Could improve on the pool side furniture also . Disappointed about pool and especially the hot tub . Continental breakfast was very slim , no juice or hot foods Ice machine never had more than a scoop of ice in it . It was expected to buy ice at $2 bag These are things I believe we paid for and did not get .

The room was under construction and we were not told about that before booking. Drywall sanding dust was all over the walls. The toilet needed to be cleaned. The bathroom door would not close completely because it hit the carpet strip. The refrigerator is quite small, but we were thankful to have one to use. The remote was missing from the room and we had to request a replacement, which they promptly provided. There was a huge pile of mattresses behind the building, which everyone sees as they enter the parking lot (there is no parking lot entrance at the front). I wonder how long they've been sitting there. Our mattress did not seem to be new. The continental breakfast was quite small. We did not partake. I'm not sure we will be back to this property. It seems to keep going down in quality with each change of ownership.

Clean, quiet, near everything but off the busy road. Would stay again. A few weird things though: the tiny fridges have no tiny freezer, so I couldn't refreeze my ice packs; vending machines were all removed, so they're selling drinks out of a fridge behind the check in desk only when it's open; nothing in the rooms: no phone, no brochures, no kleenex, no wifi instructions, had to ask for washcloths. Excellent stay if you're independent.

Everything about this motel was terrible. My wife said let’s just go and we did without staying for 10 minutes. We lost our money but we weren’t about to stay in that crappy motel. Nobody seemed to be staying there yet our room was not suitable for us to stay.

Don't believe the good reviews. The hotel is in need of new management. My room was a 2-queen-bed room. The floor of the bathroom was dirty. I could feel it when I walked on it in my bare feet. The bath towel for preventing water on the floor was dirty. I could literally see the dirty footprints of the previous user. The wall had repairs on every wall and was just repaired with joint compound and not painted. The curtains were falling down, and from the outside of the building, when you looked closer, you could see that all the rooms had the curtains falling and deteriorating. The bathtub had somebody else's hair in the drain. Do not stay here. This owner should sell and allow someone else to come in and refurbish the place. Although it may already be too far gone. My companion had a room with a king-size bed, and their room was just as bad, with patches on the walls. No shampoo. Curtains falling down.

Sam the manager was very nice and did accommodate us for an early arrival and a first floor handicap room I can't climb stairs and there is no elevator this: facility. All in all nice place to stay
