Excellent hotel and great location ! Staff was very friendly and the Coffee shop, break fast and the bar was great. Valet parking service is very convenient and the hotel location is super nice.

Beautiful hotel, but lacking in a few areas. There are no true river view rooms, and you are charged an upgrade fee for that. The rooftop bar is not truly rooftop as it is on the 3rd floor, and also it’s not open during the day while you might be at the pool. The rooms get hot at night because the AC turns off when you’re not moving around the room.

Terrible, extremely late and delayed check-in managed poorly by the staff with no proactive communication and essentially quite rude. Parking directions lacking and expensive. Didn't bother with breakfast as too expensive and crowded.

The hotel and amenities are great. I really loved the gym, it was big with plenty of equipment. The pool was also a great addition. The room was nice and modern and the beds were super comfortable. There were a few crumbs under the bed when we checked in so maybe housekeeping accidentally missed it & didn’t bend down to check. The only cons would be the bell hop service needs some work. We needed help with our luggage checking out but there was a shortage in service & they were very backed up, we didn’t want to be late checking out so we had to make multiple trips to bring our luggage down. Lastly, the shower drained slowly so it made the water back up slightly.

Beautiful property with great staff. It was a little further down the river walk than I would have liked and $60.00 per night for car valet was much too expensive and it is the only parking option.

We have stayed at a couple of Intercontinental hotels in the past and had a better experience. Bathroom was not clean, tub was dirty, sheets had hair under it and room was mask with air freshener that bothered me for the entire time we were there. Valet was expensive for a hotel that’s surrounded in not the best area if downtown. Room service closes early which was the last straw. Weekend and it closes before 11pm

We wished we got to stay longer! The hotel staff was so helpful, friendly & amazing! We loved how clean the entire hotel was and luxurious in their details. We weren’t sure if we would be close enough to the Riverwalk, but it was definitely the perfect choice to get a couple minutes of walking to enjoy the beauty of the Riverwalk without being in the loudness of the crowds & restaurants. We absolutely had the best sleep in their beds and linens. And the hotel restaurants were such a bonus-enjoyed a lovely dinner at their Cavalier restaurant! I would definitely recommend and come back next time!!

The beds are comfortable. The hotel allows dogs and they barked the entire night next door along with next door having a party coming and going all night door slamming. The shower was dirty with yellow stains. The “view” wasn’t good. The location is not on the riverwalk. The parking is horrible unless you utilize valet. I paid for the self parking and no available customer service to dispute the time paid but not used. Room service took 1 hr.

The Hotel room was modern with added measures of comfort which include luxurious robes and slippers, mini fridge, excellent bed and sleep comfort, desk area and bath with walk-in shower. The city view was wonderful and our upper floor room was very quiet. The breakfast offers a wide variety of excellent food. Austin at the front desk gave us great rooms for ourselves and friends. The concierge, Danny, was very accommodating and helpful. He actually dropped us at a nearby restaurant we requested to assist us in saving time on our one day visit. Sylvia checked us out and provided a quick and smooth exit. We self parked on Solidad street and it was only a one minute walk to a secure parking garage. All of the staff was excellent and friendly. The Intercontinental IHG was only a few blocks north of the Riverwalk and very accessible. We are very pleased with the location of the hotel in relation to the RIverwalk. I highly recommend the IHG Hotel (5 star) for comfort and very helpful and friendly staff. We will be back and thank you for a great stay.

Very nice updated hotel with excellent staff. However they sell the hotel as a riverwalk property and actually offer premium riverwalk view rooms which there are none. Not happy about paying more for something that isn’t available.

We really enjoyed our stay here! Valeting was convenient, the bed and pillows were comfortable, the hotel and room was modern and stylish. My only complaint was that the AC in our room didn’t seem very powerful and the lights would turn off and on, on their own which was strange. We didn’t ask anyone who worked there about it since we didn’t stay for very long. But those were the only things that bothered us a little about our room. Would have been nice as well if the room had a mini fridge. We will most likely stay here again the future though since it was very clean, comfortable, safe, and the staff was very friendly.

For a hotel that was rated exceptional it was nice. However, i highly suggest you request a river view room. The street noise was so loud i couldn't sleep andnof couslrse the slamming of doors...why can't hotels come up with a fix for the slamming doors? Not really on the popular part of the ruver walk but close enough to walk if you are familiar with the area and gps did just fine too.

When we checked in, they accidentally charged me $900 instead of deposit of $150 because they double charged me for the room that I had already paid. The check in was lacking in communication and professionalism. We had to get a manager involved even though we had a confirmation number. We extended the stay for Sunday night through Hotels.com and the Office said there was nothing on file. They charged our guest $$$ for one night. They even tried to charge for 2 nights. We will be disputing this charge. This was the worst experience to date. The front desk was inexperienced and unprepared.

Our stay absolutely amazing. All the staff is very attentive. The bars and restaurants had superb options. The rooms were flawless and this was the most comfortable hotel bed I’ve ever slept in. The high praise bar on the 3rd floor had the nicest bartenders. Be sure to ask for Chanelle while there, she was funny and nice & makes a good drink! The bar on the first floor is just as good if not better. Make sure to ask for Briana, the extra time and care she takes while making your drink is phenomenal, she was hands down the best. We went for a quick weekend stay but it was one of the best, this hotel will forever be my go-to while in SA. just stay here you won’t regret it :)

We arrived to the hotel at 5:15, and check-in was supposed to be 4pm. As we walked in, there were people sitting around and we could sense something was wrong. The staff let us know we were 18 in line due to a laundry issue. He told us we would have to wait but gave us a drink voucher for the bar. As we went to sit down, another couple said they’d been there for 2 hours. We waited around for an hour then decided to go walk around the riverwalk and give them our bags. About 30 minutes after that, we got a text that the room was ready. We discussed the issue with Expedia and the agent was able to get our parking compensated. The staff was very kind throughout our stay. We got 75$ in credits with our stay which we used at breakfast, which was very good. Upon checkout we learned that a pipe had bust and they weren’t able to do laundry. Although it was frustrating, the ambiance and the staff really made up for it. Valet, front desk, bar, and restaurant staff were all very welcoming and kind.

We actually had a coupe of issues the first night, but the way it was handled impressed me. Immediately moved to a nicer room with a restaurant credit, and apologies. The pool was great during the week, a little crowded on the weekend. Fantastic food and service in the restaurant. We will return.

For a hotel that was rated exceptional it was nice. However, i highly suggest you request a river view room. The street noise was so loud i couldn't sleep andnof couslrse the slamming of doors...why can't hotels come up with a fix for the slamming doors? Not really on the popular part of the ruver walk but close enough to walk if you are familiar with the area and gps did just fine too.

We wished we got to stay longer! The hotel staff was so helpful, friendly & amazing! We loved how clean the entire hotel was and luxurious in their details. We weren’t sure if we would be close enough to the Riverwalk, but it was definitely the perfect choice to get a couple minutes of walking to enjoy the beauty of the Riverwalk without being in the loudness of the crowds & restaurants. We absolutely had the best sleep in their beds and linens. And the hotel restaurants were such a bonus-enjoyed a lovely dinner at their Cavalier restaurant! I would definitely recommend and come back next time!!

We stayed here for a anniversary weekend and really enjoyed this hotel. I was a little concerned with the location when we got there because we have always stayed on the Riverwalk but this location turned out to be a nice quieter area that was only a few blocks from most of the things we were wanting to do in downtown (Riverwalk, old market, Bohanans restaurant, and the El Honky Tonk bar). The service in the hotel was top notch (check-in, room service, bar/restaurant, valet). I will definitely stay here again when visiting downtown San Antonio.

I recently stayed two nights at the InterContinental San Antonio Riverwalk and while the hotel has a nice downtown location and friendly staff, my overall experience left me disappointed — especially given the price. I was told over the phone there would be no fee for early check-in if a room was available, but upon arrival, I was charged a $100 early check-in fee, plus a $29 daily resort fee, and a $300 incidental hold (refundable). That’s on top of the ~$694 I already paid for the room — none of which was communicated clearly upfront. Valet service is $64 per day, and while they’ll drop you off somewhere, they won’t pick you up, which is not what I expect from a “luxury” hotel. Every other luxury hotel I’ve stayed at in San Antonio offers complimentary valet vans for pickup and drop-off. The in-room amenities were extremely overpriced — $12 for a water bottle, $18 for a can of almonds, and $25 for laundry (even though you only get a $20 credit if you upgrade). It felt like every little thing had an extra cost attached. The pool, located on the third floor, was small and basic — not what you’d expect from a luxury hotel. The on-site restaurant had decent food, but the menu was very limited and everything was overpriced. Again, I have to give credit to the staff — they were friendly and helpful throughout my stay. This is a fairly new property and they’re still working out some of the kinks. The staff is very nice and helpful, but the amenities are not there as you would like the restaurants open and close and open close again. Nothing is open all day. You have to pay attention to those hours or there is like a little coffee shop, but the sandwiches are sub-par premade a nuked I would not recommend them.

Regret choosing this as the place to do a staycation. The pool area was disorganized, have to go into High Praise to order because never got service outside. The service at High Praise was horrible and they knew nothing about the alcohol. There was 4 people taking orders and no one took our order till 15 min later. The server knew nothing about the credits we had and the alcohol recommendations. Great kid, but seemed like he was new and knew nothing about being behind the bar. Was never told we needed reservations for the restaurant, the wait was 45 min, but was told we can order to the room but would be 30 minutes till food arrived. We waited for over an hour to get the food and nothing. All in all very disorganized placed, staff members knew nothing about the hotel and its offerings, and bad communication overall. I will give credit to Deco bar guys they were amazing and rose belly cafe!! The person who checked us into the hotel was great as well! Will I ever stay here again no, its unfortunate because the facilities are nice looking and room was cozy, but service was terrible and not willing to go through that again. Will continue to be on the look out for a good staycation hotel and where to point outside visitors too.

We have stayed at a couple of Intercontinental hotels in the past and had a better experience. Bathroom was not clean, tub was dirty, sheets had hair under it and room was mask with air freshener that bothered me for the entire time we were there. Valet was expensive for a hotel that’s surrounded in not the best area if downtown. Room service closes early which was the last straw. Weekend and it closes before 11pm

Do not be impressed by the fancy name, nothing special. No privacy in the bathroom- surface mount barn sliding door, toilet tissue bar was installed vertical instead horizontal, on the ceiling there is small blinking light that is so disturbing to sleep. Desk receptionist named Israel not so professional ( he may know how to use computer but not wise to speak with customers). Newly renovated and extremely comfortable. While it is on the river walk, it's just outside of the main RW corridor which means it is not overrun with tourists. The entire staff from housekeeping to the front desk were fantastic. You will not be disappointed.
