The fact that it’s right next door to The Lazy Pirate is convenient but can be a problem bc parking for the motel is tough to find bc diners of the restaurant take stops from the motel. Also it can get noisy at night. Room was great and we enjoyed the pool area. Couldn’t find a hair dryer but no big deal, just bring one with ya, more towels put in the rooms would be great. Walkable to plenty of restaurants and other things.

Staff was great. Room and property was clean. Great location to walk to restaurants bars shops and the beach. There was a large group present that created some issues and they had to shut down the pool. But had that not been the case it was perfect especially for the price. Management apologized profusely. On a busy road with lots of activity but room was very quiet with door shut. I would stay again

The swimming pool was great for the kids and a lot of good dining options nearby. Short walk to the beach and boardwalk.

Everyone hospitable at late check-in. Inform you 10% given next door at Lazy Pirate Grill. Pets allowed, in downstairs rooms and has fenced pet area. Sitting areas with benches and the tall cigarette disposals, larger trashcans. Upstairs appeared to have nooks with patio table/chairs. All face parking lot and pool and live music next door. Hotels.com: This is not a 3-star, it is 2-star hotel, and also shows sheets not available (they are). My friend recovering from stroke and with some blindness felt very capable being here.

Overall, great price for location. A bit noisy as had no idea there was a bar beside the property. Shared parking lot.

Very convenient location. Parking at night is shared with the restaurant which made it difficult to find a spot.

My family and I had a great time! Employees were all very friendly and kind. One of the employees even came out to the pool to give my 5 yr old granddaughter an ice cream bar she surely enjoyed! Loved the pool and the restaurant on site as well as very close to all the attractions. Thanks for a great stay! I’m sure will be back!

There is a restaurant/bar on site with lots of entertainment. Small dog park behind the building. Close to the beach and shopping. Great price.

THERE WAS NOTHING UNIQUE, DIRTY FLOORS, NO WASHCLOTHS, INSIDE WAS DATED, BUT PAINT AND DECOR WAS USED TO COVER UP THE AGING. SHEETS HAD STAINS, BATHROOM SINK HAD SCRATCH MARKS. WHEN PEOPLE UPSTAIRS WALKED THE CEILING CREAKED, RESTAURANT NEXT DOOR HAD 60-90 MINUTE WAIT TIME. WE LEFT.

Mold and mildew and rotton wood around ac along mold.

The first room we were assigned has a bad smell and we realized it was from mold growing in the fridge that was broken. The second room's bathtub didn't have a plug and the hot water was iffy. The room was like daylight at night because there were blinds but no curtains. The walls were very thin so we heard our neighbor's entire phone conversation. Proximity to beach is good, though. Big sign at the property for $69/night.

We were highly disappointed with our stay. We had to pay $250 for one night and our hotel fridge was broken, the bathroom had not been cleaned, the bathtub had hair and dirt all in it, there was hair on our bedding and there were people right outside our door talking and laughing until about 3am!! So needless to say we didn’t sleep much.

Stained sheets and cockroaches

We loved the size of the rooms and the location. Easy access to where we were going. Nice pool. Felt the floors in bedrooms could have been cleaner. No cups for coffee and no cleaning service. We really enjoyed the convenience to restaurants and beach!

Absolutely horrific. I have never seen a room so dirty. Stains on the sheets dirt on the floor and on the wallls. Looked like nobody had wiped the walls since it was built. Very unsafe area. Had to get a different hotel.

I gave the overall of 5 stars not because it is a nice place, but because it met the minimum requirements for a reasonable price for my kids and I while we were there. The motel is much older, but staff keep it well cleaned, work hard and are very friendly. I would stay again, no questions asked!

The room was clean and neat. We just stayed one night but it was comfortable

I loved the location, but first room had a massive stain on sheets, looked like soaked through from comforter. 2nd room was cleaner, but Dead Dried Up Frog in the corner of bathroom, must've been there weeks.

Rooms are cleans but needs updating. Needs to replace carpet with LVP, needs new mattress and definitely needs blackout drapes!! Pool was nice and clean, location is good walkable to many restaurants and the broadwalk. Staff was nice and accommodating Would stay again especially if they did the updates mentioned above.

Affordable motel and staff were polite and helpful. My room smelled like cigarette smoke and was bare bones. Can be a little noisy at times.

I like the location, however at night it was loud due to the bar next door playing live music. The parking needs some more spots, but that is normal for a beach town. My room did not have a clothes hanger rack or closet, so I had to hang my clothes on the back of the chair. No clothes bar in the room at all. Overall, it served my purpose so I will probably be back again.

Room was great with the exception of a couple of things that needed to be addressed which I did with the front desk. Remember to bring a hair dryer the rooms do not have one. Have stayed here many times and always enjoy it.

Good for a cheap motel. No drapes so it gets pretty bright in the a.m.

The property was good overall. My only complaint was that the WIFI signal was a bit weak in my unit towards the back off the street.

No real issues with the hotel as far as a place to stay, but I was hoping to get more work done while there but the wi-fi wasn't good. I'd say if you are on a working vacation (as I was trying to do), it might not be the best place.

We were so excited to stay at pirates Cove, so we could eat, drink and hang out at our favorite Carolina beach spot the lazy pirate. The staff was very welcoming, decorations and exterior gave nice beach, pirate vibes. We got up to our room, and opened the door. It looked cozy, well decorated. This is where the compliment sandwich ends though. The carpet was very damp near the door, which made us wonder about mildew and mold. The Hot water in both the shower and sink would come and go or just stop all together. The shower curtain rod was about to fall off the wall, and the towel holder literally did fall off the wall. 3 different times. The bed, while mostly comfortable, had a broken spring begging to rip through the fabric on the edge of the bed. Also only one wash cloth provided with 2 towels? Also some room darkening curtains would help with the parking lot and exterior room lights pertruding through the blinds. WiFi did not work, and no hair dryer. In conclusion, this place can be AMAZING, with a little TLC, maybe update the outlets and covers, fix the plumbing issues, sprinkler heads, door seals to fix humidity issues, and generally just some internal love. Externally the place has been updated and looks really inviting. No issues with bugs, staff or parking lot security.

I would give a higher rating but our room had ceramic flooring that was sweating, the AC was working but the wet floors were very annoying and the room was damp.

Completely awful!!!! 1. Faulty door lock. According to staff “we’ve been having a problem with this room”. Our card key did not work. Several times a day we had to go to the front office and ask them to manually open our door. Many times no one was at the desk and we had to wait on them. We were promised maintenance would repair the lock and never happened. One staff member actually suggested we just prop our door open. All the staff was aware of our dissatisfaction with this issue and it wasn’t until the evening before our check out that we were offered another room. Our stay was for 4 nights. 2. Housekeeping. Hotel description states daily housekeeping. We asked about housekeeping and specifically requested it during our stay at check in. They never came. We again asked for housekeeping and were promised they would service our room. Didn’t happen. We had to go to the office daily to ask for towels. We had to take out our own trash. 3. Parking. Several times we had to park across the street due to lack of spaces. There is a restaurant close by and their customers park in the parking spots that are designated for hotel guests. Not sure why they bothered taking the make/model and license plate of the car at check in if parking was not enforced. 4. Overcrowded pool. Witnessed several families not staying at the hotel pay the staff money to use the pool. 5. Apathetic Management. At checkout we discussed our concerns with the management No apology.

I would absolutely stay here again. It fit my needs for the night. My room was clean comfy and quiet. Each room has a bench outside if you're a smoker or if you just like being outside. They are super pet friendly with a restaurant on site that's pet friendly as well. The pool is small and clean. I forgot to get a name, but the lady as the frot desk was very friendly and helpful.

Room door was unsecured, door was not completely shut. There was no towels or washcloths, we had to wait over 20 minutes at the front desk for items. Bathroom door is uneven and does not shut all the way. One of the female staff was very friendly and helpful while night shift was completely rude. Multiple guests smoking weed outside their rooms. This was not a very good experience.

I really enjoyed my stay. Its 5 mins away from beach and boardwalk. Its a friendly place. I will visit again.

Great location with short drives to museums and the aquarium. Fair price and clean room. Planning our next visit with our fur babies this time.

The location was fantastic regards to walking distance for everything. The parking was a nightmare probably due to the restaurant next door. It was also very noisy at night which is fine if you’re enjoying the nightlife. But with littles with you, not very family friendly. The staff was very accommodating and wonderful.

I love this place! Had a wonderful time, Clean,Quite with the slight exception of the music from the bar at times was loud but promptly quiet at midnight. And within .3 of a mile from all the attractions, So well within walking distance. I'm definitely going to keep coming back.

Definitely the best bang for your buck! If you’re looking for the Hilton this is not it. But if you want a quick and economical stay this is it. Everything and anything you would want to do is within walking distance. Nice get away for a weekend with the wife/ husband with out kids

Staff is always pleasant and accommodating. Hotel is older and could use updating but is centrally located to all the nightlife and easy walk to the beach. Pets are allowed - big plus

Unfortunately, late planning had us frantically looking for a room last minute. But luckily found a room on the 3rd of July. The amazing part was that Carolina Beach has fireworks every Thursday (3rd) so felt like a 4th of July celebration! Met amazing people at the pool. Restaurant next door was delicious with excellent service. I recommend this place a thousand times over!

Started out with a phone call asking us to check in early, 2pm. Got there and no one was there. Had to call and meet someone at 3pm. They denied ever having conversations with me. Then we found 2 roaches. When I made the reservation I specifically asked if the restaurant was open during our stay. They told me Mon and Tues they were closed... Guess what they were closed till Thursday. To say the least due to our jobs we don't get a lot of time off so we were a little disappointed but we made the most of it by driving into Wilmington and did the river walk and strolled shops. We also visited Michael's Seafood which I highly recommend. We also visited the aquarium which was nice as well.

My stay at Pirates Cove was nice. The staff were friendly and very informative. The food next door at The Lazy Pirate was great as well.

We were pleasantly surprised to get into town and see vacant. It’s next to a dining establishment/bar that plays live music. But stops at a reasonable hour. We didn’t mind at all!!
