Enjoyed three night stay at Hotel Burgschmiet, within an easy short walking distance of the main Chriskindlmkt in Nuremberg, the staff here are friendly and the breakfast option is worth getting. Parking is available on site but it’s limited so best to reserve it when booking your stay Would stay here again. Five Stars ⭐️

We arrived later in the evening and parking is extremely limited on site, but the kind gentleman at the front desk ensured we squeezed in and got a spot. Try to arrive earlier if you can to avoid the stress of not getting parking, especially because the area around is residential and completely full of parked cars everywhere. The location itself is perfect and walkable to old town. The building is older and the room itself was small but well kept. Recommended if you’re looking for an affordable and decent option in a central and walkable location.

The hotel is 5 min walk from the castle, so very convenient location. To start, front desk staff was very friendly and helped me find a lunch restaurant that served by favorite Bavarian lunch: Nuremberg sausage, sauerkraut and Weissbier. I had a single room which was extremely quiet (which I really liked). Everything was clean and in good condition. Finally, they served an excellent and extensive breakfast.

Everything was great! Friendly, helpful staff. Room well appointed and sparkling clean. Shower had hot water instantly! The bed was very comfortable. There was room to park my bicycle too.

Sehr freundlicher Empfang, Sauberkeit und ein Frühstück das man selten so bekommt, Genuss pur, man will gar nicht aufhören. Die Nähe zur Stadt ist perfekt, alles zu Fuß erreichbar. Wenn wir wieder ins schöne Nürnberg fahren werden wir sicher wieder hier buchen. Danke an ein tolles Team.

Schönes Hotel in guter Lage, wenige Schritte zur Burg. Nicht mehr ganz neu, dafür sehr großes Zimmer mit bequemer Matratze. Sehr sympathisch: Insektenschutz am Fenster. Leider das Gegenteil: Der Hinweis an Gäste, die gerade ihren Kaffee austrinken, dass die Frühstückszeit um 10.00 Uhr ende. Um 10.03 Uhr!! Zusammen mit dem kaum vorhandenen Wasserdruck in der Dusche reicht es so leider nicht für "sehr gut".

Ich war eine Nacht im Hotel. Ich hatte ein Single-Zimmer mit Fenstern zum Innenhof. Am Abend bis spät in die Nach hatten sich wohl Touris viel zu erzählen (war leider sehr laut. Musste die Fenster zu machen). Ansonsten: Vom Check-In (selbstgebackenen Keksen und Eistee fürs Ankommen, freundlich, zuvorkommend, hilfsbereit) über das großzügige Zimmer (sauber, mit Sky-TV und Minibar) bis zum Check-Out lief alle gut. Zu empfehlen.

Nice hotel. Room was just a bit tight, but good enough for one person. Area/neighborhood was a bit noisy at night, but otherwise pleasant. 5 min walk from the City Walls, several nice restaurants in 10 min walk. Very close to tram, with access to subway from tram.

The hotel in the quieter and less touristy side of Nuremberg’s castle walls. It’s less than a 5 minute walk to get inside the city walls. With that being said, if you want to go to a lot of the main attractions besides the castle, you’ll have to take the tram or walk ~10 minutes. It’s right next to the tram stop so you have many options. The staff were very kind and helpful especially with questions about the city and transportation. We only spoke english and had absolutely no trouble communicating with them.

Wonderful location! Friendly staff and love the welcome treats (gluwein and cookies). Comfortable bed and very quiet rooms. The breakfast was worth the added price (17 euro), with local specialties and delicious options. Walkable to the Christmas Market too. Thank you! We will be back!

Enjoyed three night stay at Hotel Burgschmiet, within an easy short walking distance of the main Chriskindlmkt in Nuremberg, the staff here are friendly and the breakfast option is worth getting. Parking is available on site but it’s limited so best to reserve it when booking your stay Would stay here again. Five Stars ⭐️

The rooms were nice and the bathroom was large. The property was very convenient for walking to the walled part of the city as well as catching public transportation.

The hotel is 5 min walk from the castle, so very convenient location. To start, front desk staff was very friendly and helped me find a lunch restaurant that served by favorite Bavarian lunch: Nuremberg sausage, sauerkraut and Weissbier. I had a single room which was extremely quiet (which I really liked). Everything was clean and in good condition. Finally, they served an excellent and extensive breakfast.

Nice hotel. Room was just a bit tight, but good enough for one person. Area/neighborhood was a bit noisy at night, but otherwise pleasant. 5 min walk from the City Walls, several nice restaurants in 10 min walk. Very close to tram, with access to subway from tram.

The hotel in the quieter and less touristy side of Nuremberg’s castle walls. It’s less than a 5 minute walk to get inside the city walls. With that being said, if you want to go to a lot of the main attractions besides the castle, you’ll have to take the tram or walk ~10 minutes. It’s right next to the tram stop so you have many options. The staff were very kind and helpful especially with questions about the city and transportation. We only spoke english and had absolutely no trouble communicating with them.

The only downfall was the location. Too far from the town sir restaurants etc. the hill is quite steep To walk up. Everything else was perfect. Breakfast was ok but for 15 Euro not a must.

She’s for a room opposite the street and got a SMALL room on the 5th floor ON the steet. THIS USED TO BE A GREAT HOTEL but it has gone downhill badly in the last couple of years. The breakfast buffet was awesome in the past but. Barely mediocre now

Check-in was 15 minutes, long line. Appreciate the info but way too long. WiFi was intermittent and when working was very weak signal. We had some business to do and was difficult to complete. Room was clean and staff were friendly and courteous. Breakfast was excellent.

Aufmerksames Personal, ungewöhnlich reichhaltiges Frühstücksbuffet, Altstadt in fußläufiger Entfernung. -Parkmöglichkeiten begrenzt und etwas beengt. Safe leider zu klein für Laptop. - Insgesamt aber sehr empfehlenswert.

Absolutely the breakfast. Only 15 Euro, many choices, delicious and healthy. If you spend Sunday in Germany. Hotel breakfast is probably a must, because most of the businesses either close or open very late time.

Wonderful location! Friendly staff and love the welcome treats (gluwein and cookies). Comfortable bed and very quiet rooms. The breakfast was worth the added price (17 euro), with local specialties and delicious options. Walkable to the Christmas Market too. Thank you! We will be back!

Nice Hotell in the middle of the city. Nice breakfast but very expencive 17 euro / person. Compered to 4 star hotel in austiria cost 10euro and was better.

Our room was clean and the beds were comfortable. There was no air conditioning and we were on the 3rd floor. It didn’t matter if we closed the shutters and windows during the day, it was still smoking hot in there. The blow dryer only worked for 1 minute than would stop working and have to wait for about 5 minutes to use it again. The room size was good though. The breakfast was good and most of the staff were very nice. The location was great, just a short walk to the walled city.

Venlig og hjælpsom personale. Dog gjorde varmen de dage vi var på hotellet at et aircondition ville have været et must - temperaturer på værelset var ulideligt natten gennem. Eller et hotellet super centralt beliggende fot udforskning af den gamle bydel.

Hotel Burgschmiet is simply in a class of its own; spotlessly clean, well-maintained rooms and common areas, tastefully furnished to a level seldom seen at this price point. Staff are friendly and efficient, give the impression that they enjoy being there for guests and take pride in their hotel. The breakfast deserves special mention because it is simply legendary - a dazzling variety of fresh dishes, fruit, and pastries, with much of it home made. Absolutely amazing. One point worth noting is that while the hotel's listing on Expedia includes Self Parking, in reality there are only 2 or 3 places. These are very cramped and must be reserved in advance, only becoming available at the room's listed check-in time. To be fair the reservation requirement is there in the (very) small print on hotels.com, so this is more of a gripe at the platform rather than the hotel. In our case the staff went the extra mile and helped us out, which was a lovely touch.
