Took a trip to every UK country and the republic of Ireland, stayed at many hotels and this was the best by far. Valet parking was easy, hotel had AC, great location, all around winderful.

The staff were lovely. The rooms were clean & comfortable. We had one overlooking the canal. There are a couple of busy pubs nearby & it's set back from a busy road but we werent disturbed. There isn't a proper dining room at night, just tables in the bar area but the food was good. We used taxis but there are decent transport links nearby

Our first night in Ireland was spent here. Very convenient and perfect for our first night of rest. We walked a lot in the area. Felt very safe. Used valet parking which was perfect as we did not want to drive in Dublin. Staff excellent, kind, patient, helpful.

The young man who checked me in must have previously only dealt with prison inmates. He was unwelcoming, unhelpful and generally in a bad mood. The parking in and out privileges are a nuisance. Parking here is not very convenient.

Great location. This is my go to hotel. I’d give it 5 stars if it wasn’t because my bathroom wasn’t clean during my 3-night stay. They even forgot trash bags there.

We were a group of eight and all had superb service. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Rooms were very clean, quiet, and comfortable. The food was incredible! Would highly recommend.

Clayton is a good hotel. I stayed with them in Glasgow and it was great. In Dublin did not clean the room nicely and staff were not very friendly

This hotel has many amenities that others do not. Air conditioning, elevators, online check in, security features...these are not available at all Dublin hotels. Additionally there was a small fridge in our room, top quality bathroom updates, glassware, coffee maker and kettle, coffee, tea, bottled water and a fully functioning restaurant bar and lounge. Shower water pressure was excellent but the mattress, for the quality of the hotel overall, was marginal for me. Linens were excellent. There was lots of room for hanging clothes but no drawers at all. Housekeeping staff were excellent to interact with. From the hotel doors we were within a brisk walk from everything we cared to do. Taxis are plentiful in the area. Public transit passes for a week in dublin are very reasonable but it is a waljable city. Our second room had a/c trouble all week and in our room we had trouble getting tv channels though we were finally able to cast tontv and wifi was generally great.

We usually choose the Burlington road location but decided to try the one at Charlemont after seeing good reviews. We were impressed enough with everything including the breakfast and views. The serving area can get crowded and doesnt have quite as many selections as the one at Burlington rd. but it was still excellent. The room was clean, roomy, and quiet and overlooked the grand canal which was a pleasent surprise. Although it might be about equidistant from both city centre and Ranelagh as Burlington rd, it felt closer and was an easy walk to very good restaurants in either direction. Picking up the airport bus or luas train was easy at harcourt st. but the Burlington location has the bus stops right in front which is hard to beat for convenience. Best thing is that now we have two goto hotels if one happens to be cheaper or fully booked!

Valet parking is available but you have to park your car a long a single lane road, if a space is an available, at the right side of the hotel as there’s two entrances. Then walk to the hotel. On leaving the you have to arrange for your car to be retrieved and then walk along the road to retrieve it lugging your luggage. Certainly not valet parking as I know it. At breakfast you have to ask for tea and toast if you can find a staff member, staff are polite and are trying their best. Both mornings we were shown to our table but never instructed on how breakfast worked or asked did we want tea or toast. Good location for getting into the city centre by Lucas as it’s just a short walk away. We were in a deluxe double room but it was on a corner room was an awkward shape which ment if someone was sitting at the desk you couldn’t get round the bed or to the window where the other chair was. It was ok for us as we are married but would be uncomfortable if sharing with a friend etc.

Lovely stay at this hotel. The room was so spacious, my only complaint was the water overfill in the bathroom. The sink and shower both overflowed very easily and made a mess. I think they need unblocked and would be fine. It’s also a little noisy when people walk up and down the stairs. About a 20 min walk to grafton street.

This hotel is fine for a day or two. The rooms are white tired, and I didn’t get any sleep due to the room walls being so thin. I could hear the person get the toilet roll next door. Unfortunately my neighbours played music throughout the night and kept me awake. Whilst the receptionist was very apologetic I did leave feeling exhausted. It was tough to get through to reception when ringing down and room service. However, the location was great and the hotel does the job and the staff are friendly.

I have stayed in this hotel before. The hotel is clean and has a great location, near a canal with swans and still only a ten minute walk to downtown. On this occasion I stayed in the older part of the hotel which has been nicely renovated, but it doesn’t have an elevator, which ordinarily would be no big deal. Except I’m recovering with a fractured pelvis, they had someone help me by delivering my luggage to my room which was great. I stayed two nights, on the second night my toilet wouldn’t flush so in the morning I went downstairs and asked the person at reception where the toilet where? He asked what’s wrong with the one in your room? I said it doesn’t work, he pointed and said around the corner on the left, I told the next set of people at reception, but ended up using the community toilets downstairs until I checked out of the hotel that day, which was extremely annoying and inconvenient

We enjoyed our 4 night stay at the Clayton. The front desk staff here were some of the friendliest we’ve ever had, and helped with our bags and questions. We had breakfast there twice and it was very good. The bar area was nice and stayed open late. All the wait staff and bartenders were fantastic too. It is about a 25 minute walk to Trinity college area which we did a few times, but we took cabs a lot too. Great pub next door.

Had an amazing stay. The staff here, whether it be the front desk, cleaning staff or the restaurant staff are all exceptional. I have stayed in many hotels on this trip and the people working at the Clayton Hotel-Charlemont have been some of the best. Thank you again!!

The property was everything we expected – clean, well presented, check-in and check-out was flawless, etc., etc., etc. BUT – We had a problem with an envelope that had been couriered to the hotel for us in advance of our arrival. A misunderstanding resulted in the envelope being returned to the courier, which was a significant inconvenience to us. Very, very rarely in my 40-odd years of travelling have I come across anyone prepared to go to the lengths the Hotel did to get the situation resolved as efficiently as Dierdre and her team did. That’s the stuff we’ll remember and highlight if we ever have a chance to recommend a hotel in Dublin.

The staff was condescendent and rude. Whenever we asked a question at the front desk, we got half answer with an attitude. Like we are bothering them. One front desk gentleman from the evening/ night shift was especially rude. 1- We were travelling with a 2 year old (which was stated in the reservation) and got a room without a bath. Only a big shower. I asked if we could switch rooms and the answer was always no. The sink was too shallow to bathe the toddler so we had to wash our daughter with a washcloth for 4 days... 2- Having an early flight back to Canada, the night before our departure, I asked for a wake up call. The next morning, the phone never rang. Thankfully, I had set my alarm just in case. I went downstairs to get a coffee,ask them to call us a taxi and inquire about the wake up call. The front desk employee very very rudely replied: yeah we called.. then muttered something. I asked him if he could repeat it. He yelled something back (still couldn't understand) so I replied there was no need to be rude nor upset. I should be the one upset. He them walked away and closed the door (back office behind the front desk) 3- Still in shock from the incident, I went back to my room. I had forgotten to ask for a taxi. Hoping it would be another employee answering the phone, I called front desk to ask for a taxi. The person said yes. With no time to waste, we got downstairs and waited. After 10 minutes, I asked the front desk if the taxi is near? He said they never call

The hotel was very nice and within walking distance of the bus tours. Service was great! The front desk was of great help with directions & all our needs. Cian in the restaurant helped us get our late night food order in before the kitchen closed. We felt well tended to at this location.

The hotel was great but do not expect a quiet stay on a weekend. There is a loud bar directly below and an area across from there where hundreds of people gather to drink and hang out every night starting at around 5 pm and going until early morning. We didn’t spend a ton of time in the room so it was fine but would have been frustrating if we’d wanted to.

My daughter n I enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The staff were v friendly, welcoming n helpful. The facilities were excellent. We, especially, liked its location as it was a 10_12 mins walk to Grafton street but was still a quiet location.

Comfortable hotel - clean and good sized room. Staff at reception desk standing around chatting while I stood waiting. Often saw staff at desk chatting. Good breakfast but unfortunately restaurant was closed for evening meal. Shame became menu seemed fine but we didn’t fancy eating in the noisy bar.

Decent modern hotel just outside the city centre, clean throughout, with friendly and efficient staff. The bed was narrow in our room, I’d recommend upgrading to a king size. The breakfast buffet was disappointing and expensive, possibly best avoided.
