Honest Review: Pro's 1.) Ashley at the Front Desk was professional, nice and very pleasant and helpful. 2.) Hotel in a nice area, with lots of choices around it. 3.) Bed was comfy 4.) TV was small but channels good 5.) Fridge in room was good. 6.) Water pressure was great in shower 7.) Dogs allowed 8.) Pool decent, stays open till Midnight. Con's 1.) Hotel is definitely older and not updated. 2.) Bathroom toilet is positioned that if you are tall, about 5'9 or taller you are probably touching your knees on the sink while sitting on it. 3.) Shower is also very little and tight. Reminded me of a camper shower. Shower was not the cleanest, the soap dispenser had soap running down the wall and not cleaned up. 4.) TV remote was broken, could change the channels but had to get up to adjust the sound, and had sticky residue on the back, like worn tape holding battery in. 5.) A lot of truckers, and (construction) workers stayed there. 6.) Alot of pot smokers, smoking in back, Michigan is legal for this, Just FYI. Dogs allowed but for a fee. Stayed 1 night and it was ok, would not be happy staying for a couple days.

The pool area needs some maintenance. The hot tub especially. Our room was clean but had the smallest bathroom possible. You couldn’t even use the toilet without hitting the door. We had several issues with our keys not working and having to go to the desk for replacements. However the staff was all very friendly and accommodating.

Room was clean. Room had bathroom lights not fully functional and no bathroom fan. Entrance at room is dark with no light. Hallways and walls are aged. Wallpaper had water damage and pealing in multiple spots and the carpet hadn’t been replaced in a very long time. The hallways all stunk of marijuana every night. The parking lot is dark. There appears to be permanent RVs in the parking lot also.

We booked this hotel due to the beautiful pool we booked a suite for 4 days. When we arrived the pool was closed completely tore up mounds of dirt no water. The hotel should send out an email or post a notice on their website. Our children were so sad as this was a family trip for our sons 9th birthday we drove over 10 hours. There was no refund offered or any type of compensation I felt like I was bamboozled

The room was terrible. The jetted tub i got the room for did not hold water, the tv did not turn on, and I found a cockroach just hanging out on the wall. The staff, however, were very professional and apologetic. Five stars for the staff, zero stars for the room. I did not stay in this hotel after i found the cockroach.

Everywhere is sparkle clean!! Staff is nice. Room is spacious and beds are comfy. Close to highway but very quiet. Breakfast area is also very spacious and nice. Highly recommend!

I read reviews online and one said this hotel has seen better days. That’s putting it kindly. I guess it was originally built as a conference center but now it is pretty dismal. The beginning of October isn’t exactly high season, but very few people were staying here. Despite prominent signs saying it was a nonsmoking hotel, the odor of marijuana permeated the hallway. Our room, though billed as nonsmoking, also had an odor. Desk chair when pulled out had crumbs on the seat. Many signs of wear and tear and damage. Towels smelled sour. Pool area (which you had to walk through on the way to your room) was closed and not clean, with leaves, etc. Breakfast (which got great reviews) was hard scrambled eggs and dried up biscuits and gravy.

This hotel needs more than paint. Looks decent in pictures but up close it is in poor shape. The wall next to our ac unit was soft and cracked - clearly from water issues. Room had a funky smell to it that never went away. And the bath towels were white in a long ago lifetime. They need NeW bath towels. All were either yellowed or had staining on them.

Room was clean Breakfast had ants on counter when mentioned to Amy who was working in the kitchen her response was that she was taking care of the food . There was no kind of meat just potatoes and eggs and also mentioned that to her she said not until Friday.

The shower was a 26" x 26" stall and very tight to move around in. The toilet faced the (very small) sink and vanity even though there would have been plenty of room had they rotated it 90 degrees and installed it on the demising wall between this room and the adjacent one. Finishes were dated and geneally worn out.

When checking in, Front desk gave room keys that opened up an occupied room, disturbing young guests in bed, and making myself feel uncomfortable wondering if this mistake could happen to me on the other end. I would not of been able to sleep without reassurance from front desk, and blocking door.

Housekeeping was the issue that prevented a perfect rating. We stayed there from the 24th checked out the 27th and not once was our room cleaned, dirty towels picked up or clean ones replaced. Beds were not made , nor garbage emptied. We picked our towels up from the front desk. Breakfast was very good, coffe great, beds comfortable. Concerns over safety , the amount of water that tracked onto the tile floor. There was 1 wet floor sign placed, however very slippery in the area. Exterior of building was clean. The night shift lady on duty, I believe her name was Alisha was very pleasant and welcoming!

Housekeeping was the issue that prevented a perfect rating. We stayed there from the 24th checked out the 27th and not once was our room cleaned, dirty towels picked up or clean ones replaced. Beds were not made , nor garbage emptied. We picked our towels up from the front desk. Breakfast was very good, coffe great, beds comfortable. Concerns over safety , the amount of water that tracked onto the tile floor. There was 1 wet floor sign placed, however very slippery in the area. Exterior of building was clean. The night shift lady on duty, I believe her name was Alisha was very pleasant and welcoming!

I had to stay here on and off for 2 months so far due to construction at my house. They were accommodating, friendly, went out of their way to make checking in and out every few days so easy. Taj Heather Jill and Judy are absolutely the best. If you’re here to work I recommend 4th floor. It’s incredibly quiet. I’ve stayed in 4 dif rooms so far and all have been extremely clean. Housekeeping is on top of everything and also extremely kind and accommodating. I stay in hotels a lot all across the world bc of work and this hotel is a top 3 favorite. Breakfast is solid too. They offer a few dif options.

So I’ve stayed here twice now, the first time wasn’t the best, but I decided to go ahead and give it another shot. This time around I stayed there while with the military and it was a horrible time. There’s a woman who works front desk, short hair and a little bigger and she was SO rude. That same night, our key cards wouldn’t work at the doors, our room was locked from the inside and had to be busted in, no sorry or offer to move rooms. I stayed for 5 days and the outside door key card reader never worked. It would take us 10 minutes to get inside, I called the front desk to let me in and it seemed like such an issue. My car wouldn’t start the last day and I found the manager who seemed so bothered that I was asking her if she could help me jump my car since I’m obviously traveling from out of state. She then informed me to go find a random guy in the lobby because “my staff are woman and I’m sure they don’t have jumper cables and they’re working.” She never checked to see if I got it, nothing. I ended up just leaving after I got my car jumped and went back to my state, forfeited a whole night because I was so over the hotel. The only positive thing I can say is the bed is really comfortable. The cable in the rooms don’t work, it cuts in and out the whole time the tv is on too. If you’re not staying on the first floor, good luck with hot water because it’s lukewarm at best, and the elevator is a death trap. I won’t be booking anymore stays, I would rather stay ANYWHERE else.

Amazing staff. Great location, 10 mins away from beach, Kroger, CVS and other stores. Clean and Quiet area. Only two not so big deals. Because it’s near a beach the mayfly’s hoover outside easy fix and the pool/hot tub needs a little paint around the edge.

I was a little bit nervous after reading some bad reviews before I arrived for my one night stay on a road trip . It was perfectly fine and fit for what I needed . I felt The staff was very friendly, plenty of people staying there were friendly as well. Everyone really enjoyed seeing my beautiful canine companion. The room was clean . Breakfast was satisfying and the location was right off the highway. There is also a nice state park right done the road. Overall it fit its price . There was a nice pool and jacuzzi that people were enjoying as well .

Great hotel to stay at for a good price. It is very close to downtown Detroit but far enough away for for a peaceful quiet area with plenty of restaurants and a minute from the freeway. We stay here every time we come to Detroit. Highly recommended!

Property was nice and staff were friendly. Room was clean but hallways smelled strongly of weed. There were several individuals hanging around outside, in back parking lot, playing music and cooking food. There were also individuals who appeared to be soliciting in parking lot as well. We probably won't stay here again.

Room was clean Breakfast had ants on counter when mentioned to Amy who was working in the kitchen her response was that she was taking care of the food . There was no kind of meat just potatoes and eggs and also mentioned that to her she said not until Friday.

I don’t review much, but I did not like this hotel and I think a constructive criticism might help. First of all, from our 12 Day road trip you people were the only one who took a $150 deposit hold, all other hotels we stayed in was N average of $50-75. Out door did not open and we had maintenance help us out and explain that we had to force it open like push it hard, took. While for my son to figure it out. The room was ok but outdated, overall ok for the price. The pool was dirty and the tiles was fallen apart at places, but the most Disappointing was The breakfast, by 8:30 am we went downstairs and pretty much everything was gone I was able to grab a yogurt. Yeah in my frequent traveler opinion you guys needs a bit of an improvement

Friendly & accommodating front desk staff! Nice, big 9ft deep pool! Clean,comfortable & spacious room. Breakfast is pretty good, breakfast staff could do a little better keeping the food & coffee filled knowing the hotel is packed & not having an attitude about having to do her job, but we'll chalk it up to a bad day.

I read reviews online and one said this hotel has seen better days. That’s putting it kindly. I guess it was originally built as a conference center but now it is pretty dismal. The beginning of October isn’t exactly high season, but very few people were staying here. Despite prominent signs saying it was a nonsmoking hotel, the odor of marijuana permeated the hallway. Our room, though billed as nonsmoking, also had an odor. Desk chair when pulled out had crumbs on the seat. Many signs of wear and tear and damage. Towels smelled sour. Pool area (which you had to walk through on the way to your room) was closed and not clean, with leaves, etc. Breakfast (which got great reviews) was hard scrambled eggs and dried up biscuits and gravy.

The called and told us we had to upgrade to be near the other person we traveled with. Yet when we arrived the room was not ready, there was food left in yhe fridge and there was no towels of any kind in the bathroom. The breakfast the next day had no waffle mix available, the eggs were dry, and the tater tots were hard. The milk containers had dry milk crusty on top. All of thebstaff except the one we checked in with have been snippy and rude.

Waffle irons, (2), daily. . . plus the usual breads to toast, muffins, yogurt, fresh fruit, cereals and oatmeal packs. Milk, juice, water, coffee, tea. Staff are friendly and helpful, too. The area felt safe and has places to dine and visit. Room was clean, nice bed and A/C worked. Pool was clean! Pleasant two day stay after camping for a month!
