My wife and I booked a long weekend trip to ski Steven's Pass and found this place to stay. It was perfect and my wife did not want to leave. We relaxed in the hot tub watching the snow fall, river, and fire we built. It was a nice disconnect from the normal world. We ate at Good Brewing and North Fork Restaurant which were both great! We could come back and stay again. Only complaint is that we arrived and the cabin was 41 degrees and took along time to warm up and never really did get to the desired temperatures so I would recommend requesting the host to turn on the heat before you get there.

We had some initial confusion, but fairly it was all on my end. The owner settled things perfectly. (THANK YOU!) Our weekend was incredible. No wifi or cell coverage meant completely disconnecting. Exactly what we needed. The A-frame was clean, cozy, and had everything we needed. The sound of the river, ever present. The fire pit with mountain backdrop was amazing for roasting hotdogs and watching the sky. We even enjoyed a movie from their video collection. (They have great taste) Overall, I would absolutely recommend, and we are already looking at it for other weekend getaways.

Stayed here for 3 amazing nights. The views are spectacular, and the sounds of the river make this the perfect getaway. The hot tub was greatly appreciated after a day of hiking the numerous trails nearby. Cell signal wasn’t great inside the cabin, but I could get an ok signal from the porch. But the lack of cell service was fine because there was a great selection of VHS and DVDs to keep entertained. I would definitely book this property again.

Very nice little A frame on the river. River access is a little tricky up and down some boulders in the bushes. They had a rope that was helpful. Hot tub and everything worked great. Very good collection of movies. Our only issue was with the heater. Couldn't figure out how to turn it on with posted directions, not mentioning to turn on the power switch on the back. Overall we had a great stay for 2 nights. Thank you.

Cute little place right on the river. Great location to get to hiking and snowshoeing. Eagles on the river every morning. All the things in the kitchen that we needed to cook. Would recommend and would return for another visit.

The cabin is situated in a way that makes you feel as though no-one is around, yet there are neighbors on either side, just out of site. We spent time exploring the riverbank, hot tubbing, overlooked the river and mountains while enjoying our morning coffee and gazing at the stars in the evenings. We enjoyed making meals in the kitchen and watching movies from the extensive moving selection. Waking each morning in the loft up the spiral staircase, felt surreal as you sit up from the bed and see the river flowing. The locals are so kind, the restaurants in the area have great selections, and the cabin is only an hour from Leavenworth; which if you've never been we highly recommend making the hour long drive. There are also several hikes just minutes away from the cabin, like Bridal Vail Falls; which we hiked and Lake serene. If you enjoy hiking these need to be on your list. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and the best 3-night stay as our Christmas gift to one another instead of materialist items. Chris and Katie; the hosts are so kind and hospitable, you can tell they love their property and being hosts. We would absolutely stay here again.

We had breakfast every morning out on the porch, and even walked out on the stones to have coffee right next to be the water one morning. The location can't be beat for nature, though the neighborhood is run down. It's an old mountain community that is obviously home to some long time residents. This is definitely a "tiny house" type stay with an extra narrow spiral staircase to get to the loft for the bed, but the view directly from your bed is 10/10. The hot tub is a little old, some of the jets don't work. But it heats up well and is still great for enjoying the stars! Our only complaint was that the toilet is verrryyy slow draining and required plunging alot. The shower is extremely small (like an old RV). If you're looking for fancy, this may not be the cabin for you. If you're looking for a laid back stay in best mountain location, access to the river, and close *amazing* hikes - this is the one.

Being able to sit on the river rocks, unplug, disconnect, and completely reset was exactly what we needed.

The A-frame itself was cozy and well-stocked, and it exceeded our expectations for comfort. We slept very well up in the loft, with the sound of the Skykomish lulling us to sleep. The hot tub was a nice bonus, too. But the real star of this show was the jaw-dropping scenery. To be surrounded by soaring jagged peaks and high forested ridges, with the turquoise river churning by, was awe-inspiring.

This little A-frame cabin was just perfect for my husband and I on our anniversary weekend! The weather was amazing, the views are gorgeous and the atmosphere is so calming. We loved the VHS variety and the hot tub, although it wasnt as warm the second night we used it. Not sure why. But not a big deal at all. Be aware of horse flies though, and other biting black flies. It wasn't too bad, just be aware. Our dog also loved the area, loved swimming in the river!

Very nice A Frame, just a few things… had to drive into town to get blankets, there was only 1 thin throw on the bed. Fireplace didn’t get hot enough to heat entire cabin. River is about 20 feet below property and to access it you go down a rope, just something that should be mentioned as pictures are deceiving.

The property is beautiful and the views are stunning. We loved our stay here but it gets 4 stars because it has the WORST shower I\'ve ever used. I\'m 5\'3" and if the shower head was any lower, it would have been too low for me. It was WAY too low for my 6\'2" husband. Also, it\'s smaller than a airplane bathroom so it\'s like trying to wash off in a coffin. I would still stay here again because everything else is lovely, but that might be a deal breaker for some.

I stayed here and the property is great, being right next to the river was amazing. A Frame was very comfortable. Had some trouble keeping hottub at temperature. There are times I could get a cell signal but most times not, I didn't mind it so much. The toilet is a little tricky, it has no pressure so it would sometimes flush, other times not. Overall a wonderful adventure.

The stair case up to the bed was a really tight squeeze, so I left most of my belongings downstairs. Bring wood to make a fire. I was fortunate enough somone left a few pieces behind. I look forward to returning again!

I will start with the pros of this cute cabin. Great location! Right on the Skykomish River which made for fun exploring and admiring the variety of river rocks. It is located very close to beautiful hikes including the Bridal Falls Lake Serene trail. Also just and hour to Leavenworth if that’s on your list of attractions. Within the Cabin itself I liked the fireplace and they had a decent collection of movies on VHS to watch. The outdoor area was also a fun spot to hang out and look at the river. Now for the cons. Unfortunately when we went the weather was rainy and dreary -mid June is a toss up in Washington but usually there is some sun. Due to the rain we were stuck inside more than we planned this highlighted the flaws of the cabin. First in the main area downstairs there is one small uncomfortable hard couch. Not the best for 2 people to sit together for a movie. The kitchen was small and if you are planning to prepare a meal here it will be annoying as there is very limited counter space. The cupboards where the dishes are swing open vertically and don’t prop up which is also annoying. The bed is an old uncomfortable spring mattress. There was also only one blanket in the entire cabin if I had known I would have brought one. The stairs are treacherous. All in all staying inside the cabin was uncomfortable and a lot of the design just doesn’t make sense. The interior needs updating. Also the hot tub smelled like mold. For the $$$ I expect a bit better.

This is a great getaway for a couple. Just enough room for two and the view from the cabin or from the hot tub is great. Cell service is a bit spotty but was able to still get some phone calls in. Great movie selection if you feel like just having a night in too. Great communication with the owner/manager too.

This was an absolutely beautiful property. Great river access and close to some great hikes. The only complaint I had was the air conditioner is not strong and doesn’t cool the loft. The temperature was unseasonably high during our trip. Had to sleep on the couch the second night to be right in front of the air. But that’s just a minor personal inconvenience. Overall, great place!

Chris and Kate's A-Frame cabin was amazing! Perfect getaway for my wife and I for our honeymoon. The Cabin is very compact but its just the right size for a couple looking to unplug. We had no wifi or service out here unless we went into town just down the road so it was really refreshing to turn everything off and ignore the world for the week. At first we were worried about that since we didn't know the area but Index is really easy to navigate. Every day we would make breakfast and eat outside looking over the river at the mountains, take some time for prayer and then go on one of the many nearby hikes. At the end of the day we would eat dinner at one of the local restaurants and come back to take a dip in the hottub and then watch one of the VHS movies stocked in the cabin. It was nice to know we had neighbors in case we needed anything, but the property itself is surrounded by trees so there's plenty of privacy. A refreshing escape into nature! I think the only downsides are that the stairs up to the bed are a bit precarious and there's no laundry. But everything else was great! We've already begun to wonder if we'll come back to rent the same cabin again sometime :)

It’s such a beautiful spot. Sitting in the hot tub on a clear night was amazing. So many stars and the sound of the river. The river isn’t too hard to get down to and walk along. The A frame is charming. It gets nice and toasty at the top where the bed is.

It was more than I can explain. I was there by myself for the first day and it was so easy to relax and forget about the real world. The view in the morning and the peace of Mother Nature all around. My friend and her dog came for one night and when I text the host about a pet deposit they were very accommodating. No hassle at all. I would recommend this property to all. The a frame is great for a secluded getaway, we had camp fires and hung out in the hot tub. So close to great hiking trails, the adorable town of index and the insta famous espresso chalet. 10/10 would recommend!
