I have stayed at this hotel many times over the last 10 years. It is a hotel, and only that. It is in a nice location with lots of restaurants and activities and public transportation. But there is nothing interesting about the hotel itself. No "extras". The room refrigerator does not work. The room rates are high. The wifi is largely useless.

NH Caransa is located near Rembrandtplien, a busy area in Amsterdam. As a result, the tram traffic to the hotel is frequent, and the area is often noisey. The location on the north side of Rembrandt Square gave us walking access to everything Amsterdam has to offer: museums, churches, the National Ballet and Opera, restaurants, coffee shops, an Albert Hein grocery store, and the Pathe Tuchinski (the oldest and most beautiful movie theater in Europe!). The tram stops right out front for easy access to Amsterdam Centraal train station and most of the city. Their sister hotel, the NH Schiller is directly across the square with a lovely tavern and cafe. An offer to forego room service at the Carnasa gave us 2 drink tickets daily to have a nice cold Heineken at the Schiller's bar. Nice perk! The staff was so accomodating, from Ainhoa helping me with a reservation snafu before arrival, to Marta at the front desk finding us the perfect room for our 16 day stay. The room attendants made our stay smooth and comfortable, even without daily service. Clean towels, coffee and bottled water was graciously provided upon request, with a big shout out especially to Nikita who always smiled at my requests and Christina's cheerful welcome to us on day one. Rutger made sure a room problem was handled immediately the very next morning to make our long stay more pleasurable. The rooms are not large, but adequate, clean and comfy. Keep in mind the hotel is located on a busy, popular square so it can get noisy when bar patrons are let out at 4am, but the positives about this nice hotel far outweigh the noise.

La struttura è molto comoda essendo in centro. Inoltre state attenti se siete alti. Mio marito ha sbattuto con la testa nel cartello dell’uscita di sicurezza, tagliandosi la testa ( e’ senza capelli ). La cosa invece che mi ha fatto arrabbiare è che all’arrivo, quando ho chiesto del parcheggio il ragazzo che mi ha fatto il check in, mi ha detto che il parcheggio era vicino e che costava 45 €. Non dicendomi che era a 45 € se la macchina la portavano loro al parcheggio. HO PAGATO 240 € per 3 gg.

This hotel is in a really good location with a team stop right outside which runs to central station regularly. Great for bars and restaurants. This makes it a bit noisy at night and till the early hours but it didn’t stop us sleeping. Hotel comfortable, clean and great value compared to many of Amsterdam’s hotels that are crazy prices.

Excellent location: within walking distance of most sights and museums. However, standard room was much smaller than advertised and with insufficient lighting, insufficient closet space and not a single drawer. The only towel rail in the bathroom was 10cm from the ceiling.

The location was perfect. The hotel was extremely clean and the staff were fantastic. Breakfast could have been better and not all the options were available. The shower soaked the bathroom floor and the room got very warm.

Hotel ist in die Jahre gekommen. Das Bad klein und unpraktisch. Das ganze Bad war unter Wasser. Lavabo munzig klein. Das Bett ist stein hart und die Aussicht ist direkt in ein Bürozimmer.

Abbiamo soggiornato 3 notti. Camera sul retro dell' hotel, al 2° piano. Camera confortevole, bagno molto piccolo, doccia ampia ma lavandino quasi inesistente. Sul letto solo piumone... Era settembre, di giorno c'erano anche 28 gradi e la notte non era freddo... Colazione ben fornita, in una bella sala con terrazza che affaccia su Rembrandt Plein. Nel complesso lo consiglio.

Room was decent but extremely warm even with the heating off and couldn’t access the aircon, window wouldn’t open either. Looked out on the square which was very busy and very noisy. Street cleaning happens at 6am or earlier and is extremely loud.

Al realizar el check in, nos dijeron que la habitación no estaba lista que esperaramos un par de horas y que nuestra habitación era de las mejores con muy buena vista, al volver aun no estaba lista sin darnos un tiempo estimado de espera, refiriendo que no era prioridad nuestra habitación, ofreciéndonos otra en la parte de atrás, por lo que no nos quedo de otra que tomarla, sin recibir una mínima disculpa, pero si esos inconvenientes no te molestan el hotel esta en muy buena zona, con habitaciones amplias.

Al realizar el check in, nos dijeron que la habitación no estaba lista que esperaramos un par de horas y que nuestra habitación era de las mejores con muy buena vista, al volver aun no estaba lista sin darnos un tiempo estimado de espera, refiriendo que no era prioridad nuestra habitación, ofreciéndonos otra en la parte de atrás, por lo que no nos quedo de otra que tomarla, sin recibir una mínima disculpa, pero si esos inconvenientes no te molestan el hotel esta en muy buena zona, con habitaciones amplias.

The location on the north side of Rembrandt Square gave us walking access to everything Amsterdam has to offer: museums, churches, the National Ballet and Opera, restaurants, coffee shops, an Albert Hein grocery store, and the Pathe Tuchinski (the oldest and most beautiful movie theater in Europe!). The tram stops right out front for easy access to Amsterdam Centraal train station and most of the city. Their sister hotel, the NH Schiller is directly across the square with a lovely tavern and cafe. An offer to forego room service at the Carnasa gave us 2 drink tickets daily to have a nice cold Heineken at the Schiller's bar. Nice perk! The staff was so accomodating, from Ainhoa helping me with a reservation snafu before arrival, to Marta at the front desk finding us the perfect room for our 16 day stay. The room attendants made our stay smooth and comfortable, even without daily service. Clean towels, coffee and bottled water was graciously provided upon request, with a big shout out especially to Nikita who always smiled at my requests and Christina's cheerful welcome to us on day one. Rutger made sure a room problem was handled immediately the very next morning to make our long stay more pleasurable. The rooms are not large, but adequate, clean and comfy. Keep in mind the hotel is located on a busy, popular square so it can get noisy when bar patrons are let out at 4am, but the positives about this nice hotel far outweigh the noise.

Excellent location, well trained and friendly staff, clean rooms. Very safe. Highly recommended for family vacations. Very good reception / help desk staff Ranjeeta, Jessa, Roji who helped in bookings and planning tourist attractions. Overall a great experience!

Nice hotel, easy Tram access, lots of bars and restaurants nearby, easy walking to flower market, canals, museums & shops. Room was very nice other than needed a bit more lighting at night. Bit noisy at night due to overlooking the Rembrandt square but it’s the middle of a city so you expect it We would stay here again

we were welcomed and upgraded to a lovely room with the view of rembrant square. the staff were very helpful and accommodating. tram station is right outside the hotel and there you have the freedom to access amsterdam easily in any direction. it is less touristy which is a plus as there isnt alot of crowds. there is bars and restaurants close by also, sometimes abit noisy from the music but not so disturbing when windows are closed for sound proofing. we will definitely return and stay at the hotel again!

Love the location but be aware it has lots of nightclubs on its door step so if you get a square facing room you have to deal with noise 24/7

This hotel is in a really good location with a team stop right outside which runs to central station regularly. Great for bars and restaurants. This makes it a bit noisy at night and till the early hours but it didn’t stop us sleeping. Hotel comfortable, clean and great value compared to many of Amsterdam’s hotels that are crazy prices.

The location was perfect. The hotel was extremely clean and the staff were fantastic. Breakfast could have been better and not all the options were available. The shower soaked the bathroom floor and the room got very warm.

Great service and clean rooms. There were sleepers, bath robes, bottle of water for us. Be mindful with room you book as some are facing the square and it might get loud if it’s during weekend parties. Convenient location, an easy walk to any part of old Amsterdam. Breakfast is buffet with good options including fruits, eggs, bacon and sausages, cold cuts, cheese, pastries, juices and coffee/tea.

El hotel está ubicado frente a un parque/plaza en las afueras de la zona con alta concentración de turismo, pero puedes llegar facilmente caminando a los principales lugares de interés, si no quieres caminar, también tienes una parada de tranvia frente a la puerta del hotel. Alrededor hay restaurantes, bares, mercados, etc. El personal es muy amable (tuve suerte, había personal que hablaba español). Muy buen servicio de desayuno.

Prime location, convenient walking for all nearby sights of interest. Breakfast buffet was lovely, and special requests were instantly accommodated. Concierge extremely helpful for all transit and ticket requests. A LOT of noise at night from the pubs and clubs nearby, until sunrise. There appeared to be occasional housekeeping staff shortages, but the staff themselves were meticulous.

Hotel ok para a região em que se encontra. O problema que enfrentamos foi com o café da manhã, pois sempre que descíamos o local estava com as mesas entulhadas de louças utilizadas por outros hospedes, sendo preciso procurar funcionários para limpa-las. A variedade de itens do café da manhã também é muito fraca, praticamente sem oferta de frutas, por exemplo. Precisa melhorar para justificar o preço cobrado.

Nice hotel in great location in Rembrandt square, tram stop outside the hotel, bars and clubs on your doorstep. Everything is in walking distance if you’re fit and healthy. Check in was very slow and only one elevator means it can take ages to get to reception in the mornings. The staff were really friendly, the biggest problem was actually the noise from the club a few doors down, we honestly didn’t think it would be an issue. We may have just been unlucky with our room but you should be aware when booking this hotel it’s in the middle of the busiest square in Amsterdam so don’t expect complete peace and quiet as that isn’t entirely in control of the hotel. The hotel breakfast restaurant seemed ok in the morning but we didn’t eat as so many good places locally. Hotel does have vending machine/small shop in the hotel for late night snacks or drinks

The hotel is dated and needs a renovation. Also, towels, rooms and hallways don’t smell fresh. The hallways had an unpleasant smell. An easy fix is well placed diffusers. Also, the mattresses were average and in some case uncomfortable because I could feel the spring through the mattress. The hotel room was big and location excellent.
