The elevators were down 1 or two for the first night or so but once fixed it made going up and down the proeperty easier (no public access to stairs). Room was cleaned every day and staff were amazing and helpful. Gorgeous property. Pool was amazing. Just so much to say about this place was positive.

Most of the lobby floors were being replaced and walls painted which was a bit of an eyesore since this was our first time staying at a Fairmont hotel. The beds were not very comfy and you can hear everything from the hallways and neighbouring rooms. We ate one night at the Castello and food was nothing to write home about. However, thoroughly enjoyed the outdoor pool and the history of the hotel.

Parking ramp is way too far from the property and the check-in process is chaotic. Staff were very polite and professional and rooms are nice but food/bar service was slow.

This was an absolutely amazing experience. The Fairmont Banf has beyond excellent customer service with wonderful amenities. Variety of restaurants to choose from lots of activities and very family friendly. Great bars. The spa is wonderful. Indoor and outdoor pool and jacuzzi and sauna. Transportation provided into the town and great walkable trails all around. Highly recommend.

Offered us two small rooms in side building though we paid for a larger 4 adults room. Some of the staff was great rest of them kept forgetting orders. Many areas were not clean at all. One of us stuck on the bathroom for good amount of time as the door was jammed. Very Average experience

Room was run down. Couch was dirty. Matress in sofa bed was brutal. Felt like 50 years old. Pool area was bordering on gross it was so filthy. Service was good but the room was way overpriced. It needs a remodel badly. I would not stay here again.

While the grounds were beautiful the rooms need to be updated. For the amount of money it cost I did expect more and when I first arrived my toilet was not cleaned however they cleaned it immediately and were very accommodating. The customer service was great but I do think the price didn’t reflect the value of the stay.

The hot spring pool was absolutely beautiful, and everything about the hotel was stunning. However, the Gatehouse suite was quite disappointing. The living room and bedroom felt small and cramped, almost like a cave, and the view was not great. It was also inconvenient to plug in appliances—making it hard to use the coffee maker, kettle, and other devices. Although a microwave was provided upon request, it was dirty inside and not properly cleaned, which was very disappointing.

The location was convenient and great walking distance to the downtown area, Bow Falls trail, and Cascade Garden. Noise was an issue-hallway noise, vents, and doors opening and closing which is typical when one is staying at a hotel. There was also a glitch at check-in because I had booked the Gold floor and the staff had my name confused with another person with the same last name only. The bed sheets had a distinct smell which was a bit bothersome and the bathroom was a bit small. When I booked with Expedia I was unaware until I checked in that I got the Gold floor which was a wonderful surprise. They offered complimentary breakfast, snacks, dessert and non alcoholic drinks throughout the day and the food was delicious! I would definitely consider staying again in the future if I ever return to beautiful Banff.

The hotel complex is absolutely incredible. So scenic. They offer many activities such as biking, hiking, straight out of the hotel. Shuttles to ski resorts as well as buses to the town of Banff pick up right outside the hotel. There is a cafe open 24hours in the lobby of the hotel. Only downside to the hotel was our deluxe double queen bed room was pretty small. Worked out fine, but would have liked a bigger room for the price.

The staff there are all very helpful and the concierge service is wonderful. My only gripe was that we were initially placed in the Conference Center across from the actual hotel; one of the elevators was broken, the TV didn't work, the window opened right into the parking garage, and it was clearly not the same as having a room in the hotel itself (yes, it's technically connected but is a totally different structure). Luckily, Patrick helped place us in a slightly smaller room in the main building.

Hotel mit schöner Atmosphäre. Grosses Zimmer mit jedoch nur einem kleinen Fenster, daher etwas dunkel. Wenig Platz um Kleidung aufzuhängen. Grösster Nachteil war das sehr kleine Bad, neben der Badewanne nur Platz für einen winzigen Waschtisch ohne Ablagemöglichkeiten.

This was a wonderful hotel to stay at. We stayed in a suite which had amazing views and breakfast included. The VIP staff was incredible and helped us plan our stay a couple weeks in advance. They were also there to help in every way. Overall this hotel is the Best in Banff. (We went to the Chateau LL as well.)

We went to Banff to celebrate my wife’s birthday and the hotel was nothing less than excellent. From the valet staff, bell staff, front desk staff, house keeping staff, everyone was so prompt and tentative, the best way to describe it was “top tier” but the best part was the VIP concierge team. They were all next level and on their game. From making reservations at the hotel restaurants and spa to scheduling baggage pickup and just being friendly, it made the trip that much better. our room was even upgraded to a suite prior to arrival and it was incredible. The spa was excellent and relaxing and the views were beautiful. Staff at the restaurants were tentative and made us feel special. Overall, the staff made our trip even more memorable. I will definitely be staying at this hotel again and would recommend it to anyone planning a trip to the area.

we arrived late at nigh (about 10:30) due to flight problems. When we checked in, no one told us about the free breakfast with the gold rooms or anything else - just gave us a key and told us to have a nice stay

They don’t treat everyone the same here. I was given a terrible room with a view of tarp and construction material and when I asked they told me “looks like you booked with a 3rd party” Fairmont gold people get treated very well. The elevator was covered with rags and lots of construction equipment everywhere in the building the gave us. Rooms are average and building really old. But boy what a beautiful city and area otherwise. Hotel restaurants were fully booked most nights but lots of good food available in the city.

The hotel is beautiful. And having tea at the hotel was amazing. Swimming in the outdoor pool in the snow was so gorgeous. Here are the weird things: 1.The concierge gave us really mediocre to flat-out-wrong information at least 3 times. 2. I was double charged for valet parking for the entire stay. 3. The bathrooms are so small that there's no place to put your toiletries or makeup. There's no drawers for your clothes. 4. We made reservations for tea and they called to change it from noon to 11am. We got there at 11 and waited with several other groups for 10 minutes, only to be told that it doesn't open until noon. (?!?) After waiting about 15 minutes, we were told to go upstairs and were let in. Honestly, we could've booked elsewhere for half the price and stayed twice as long in Banff. The facilities are pretty and the people are very nice, but it definitely wasn't a smooth stay.

My stay at the Fairmont Banff was exceptional! The staff was extremely helpful, friendly and professional. I upgraded my room to Fairmont gold and was very happy with the amenities that came with the upgrade. Food was outstanding at the 1888 Chophouse and this was one of my best hotel experiences.

I believe your experience will not be the same if you dont stay at Fairmont Banff. The view from our room was worth it alone. Fantastic service. Easy walk or bus to town. Would recommend signing up for tours in advance. Better to join tours rather than renting a car and doing on your own. We also arranged a private tour which is a great option as well. Cant imagine any rating less than a 5!

The hotel complex is absolutely incredible. So scenic. They offer many activities such as biking, hiking, straight out of the hotel. Shuttles to ski resorts as well as buses to the town of Banff pick up right outside the hotel. There is a cafe open 24hours in the lobby of the hotel. Only downside to the hotel was our deluxe double queen bed room was pretty small. Worked out fine, but would have liked a bigger room for the price.

Hotel is absolutely beautiful. Staff was so friendly and there is so much to do onsite. We also walked to town (about 25 min walk), but the Fairmont provides free transportation on the public bus which is a very easy and convenient way to get around. We will certainly be back!! Gorgeous place to stay.

We truly enjoyed our stay at the Fairmont. We felt so safe and well cared for by all of the staff and employees. They were very responsive to our every need. The Vermilion restaurant was incredible with the best food and staff. The area is walkable but if you don’t want to walk, public transportation is easily accessible. When we visit Banff again we will stay here again.

This was an absolutely amazing experience. The Fairmont Banf has beyond excellent customer service with wonderful amenities. Variety of restaurants to choose from lots of activities and very family friendly. Great bars. The spa is wonderful. Indoor and outdoor pool and jacuzzi and sauna. Transportation provided into the town and great walkable trails all around. Highly recommend.

We loved the hotel and our suite. We didn’t need to turn on the tv. The room service was excellent and the views breathtaking. Not regret for the experience. The transport was great and convenient. We loved the French music atmosphere at the Vermillion restaurant. The meals however were not very impressive. We were expecting better food for the price and from this great hotel. For example, the omelettes or scrambled eggs at the buffet were under cooked and soggy on the 15th of October. On the 16th, we asked for scrambled eggs À la Carte, and they were the same texture (was flour added?). My husband also tried the Pot Roast for dinner which was recommended and found there was not enough meat on the plate. Quality for the price was not at the rendez-vous. The meat was tender but the spices were not adequate. My husband is a great cook and was expecting much better. I had the Chinook Salmon and the salmon itself didn’t taste anything! It was a small piece served on a bed of lentils, olives and marinated cauliflower bed which was different but not the best recipe for this great hotel. I had better salmon in Yellowknife. As for the service, the porter should have offered to bring the wheelchair to the table instead of letting the guest roll it down the ramp. Not very well mannered from the staff. We did appreciate our stay at this great hotel and the complementary Tours. We would love to visit again hoping the cooking chef and the service at the restaurant gets better.

The location was convenient and great walking distance to the downtown area, Bow Falls trail, and Cascade Garden. Noise was an issue-hallway noise, vents, and doors opening and closing which is typical when one is staying at a hotel. There was also a glitch at check-in because I had booked the Gold floor and the staff had my name confused with another person with the same last name only. The bed sheets had a distinct smell which was a bit bothersome and the bathroom was a bit small. When I booked with Expedia I was unaware until I checked in that I got the Gold floor which was a wonderful surprise. They offered complimentary breakfast, snacks, dessert and non alcoholic drinks throughout the day and the food was delicious! I would definitely consider staying again in the future if I ever return to beautiful Banff.

It was a mixed bag, but I enjoyed it. I would not recommend paying full price here though (it will not be worth it). I booked a gold room on Expedia, but when I got the booking all references to the gold room had disappeared. The room and the hotel were very nice. The room is large but the washroom is the size of one you would see at a hostel in China. The steak house was amazing, but the bars and vermillion restaurant were disappointing. The woman at the front desk helping you find activities in the area was amazing.

We and our pets had the most spectacular stay at this hotel. If you have the chance to book Gold status it makes all the difference. The staff and facilities were amazing. Yes the bathrooms are on the small side as this is a UNESCO property so there were limitations in how they could be designed. But everything else was phenomenal. There are so many people we want to thank from Hamish in the valet who greeted us by name! to Chamath, Caitlin, Katie, Georgia, Chris(also in valet) , Olivier, Shane and the best housekeeper Howard! We look forward to coming to visit Banff again as it is truly one of the most spectacular places to go!

The Housekeeping Staff amazing. They were cheerful, able to assist with anything needed and directive. The upgrade to Fairmont gold one bedroom suite was best decision but while waiting for our room to be ready we were never told that we had access to Gold room comfort lounge for food and drinks and instead that we had paid an extra $250 a night for. Instead we spent 150 in cafeteria on ground floor uncomfortable. Then when we switched to one bed suite on day three costing over 2300 night our luggage was missing after returning from a wedding at 10 pm as it had not been transferred from our king gold room. There are many “assisters” but the service is not five star or even three. You are met with fairly nonchalant behaviour for an expensive hotel. Luckily “sharmaine” by text assist was helpful in booking a history tour. There isn’t even a black service to pay for and so we entered fairly dirty old local cabs to get to wedding. Our personal car to airport was roughly 990 return so clearly we don’t mind paying. This was a beautiful and stunning location but it had absolutely no resort customer service that was close to the Four Seasons standard. In fact we had no water in our room without acquiring it at night service, no pay for drinks or snacks in room bar. You are left with a beautiful setting and room but don’t dare need a late night drink or food item in the room. They gave us two apples -maple syrup and a cider looking drink. The price is not worth the service !
