Sugar Bay Barbados - All Inclusive

Beliggenheden er helt perfekt. Udsigten er unik. Personalet meget imødekommende og maden er god, også i buffet. Her er smukt og flot design samt gode møbler og komfort. Det eneste jeg kan sætte en finger på, er at du skal stå meget tidlig op for at få en liggestol, da man her gerne bare må smide sine håndklæder om morgenen og så først bruge din liggestol senere på dagen. Der burde være en regel om, at dine håndklæder blev fjernet hvis du lavede dette nummer, for dem som rent faktisk gerne vil ligge der fra morgenen af, har ikke muligheden, da de alle er optaget af ‘håndklæder’.

We enjoyed Sugar Bay Resort because it was smaller than other all-inclusive resorts we've visited. It was our 30th anniversary and very relaxing. The staff was very friendly. It is an older facility, however, it suited us fine. Right on the beach, bars were great, food was very ample and a variety at the buffet each meal. The 2 other speciality restaurants were also nice. Small and Cozy Place!

Reception staff brusque. I advised the manager that they were bolshy, but she didn’t know what I meant. In general, all other staff were quite cheerful, efficient, helpful and seemed to be reasonably happy. On arrival, we were eventually shown to the room, 307 I think, and on entering we were knocked backed by a smell of damp, musty, fousty. A firm no thank you, long walk back to reception. We were shown to another room which was almost as far and just as damp etc., smelling. Trecked back to reception. After much protestations we were shown to a suite, which was thankfully smell free. This room was available to us at US$160 per night. We are reluctantly accepted after a strong protest. Not very happy. Even less happy when after a little around the property we went for a shower. Run the taps for 10 minutes but no hot water. Back to reception. “Are you sure you’re turning the tap the right way”? We had tried both ways. No one came until the following morning when they turned the tap on for 10 mins for the same result. Head scratching as they went to investigate. We went on like this all day until finally early evening we had some hot water.. But Planning was essential. Had to run the tap for five minutes before any hot water arrived. After being rebuffed by reception staff, I eventually spoke to the manager who offered a one night cancellation of the upgrade fee only, which I refused and successfully insisted on both nights upgrade fee being cancelled. Food was GOOD

Staff and beach

We had a great stay at Sugar Bay. We stayed for 7 nights. The staff is super friendly and do their outmost for you to enjoy your vacation. It is a rather small facility located at the beachfront.
