Like-close to the National park so we could walk the trails. Free breakfast. Not like-no tvs in the rooms. No WiFi in the rooms. So if it’s raining there is ZERO to do. Why not have board games in the rooms or put tvs?! Invest in WiFi like the other hotels at cradle mountain? Outdated decor in rooms. Limited dining options (we chose to eat at Hellyers down the road-amazing!!!!!). We would not stay at this hotel again.

Ambiance of the environment was fabulous. The Highland Restaurant was expensive - $249 for a two course meal for a couple. Food was cold and the service was rushed. Not enough explanation given about the menu at the beginning of the evening. Buffet breakfast was brilliant- food and service.The Spa was understaffed, lacked the expected finesse and also expensive. Rooms were warm, cosy and well maintained. Service roads badly need resurfacing. No WiFi in the cabins or lodge.

For $500 a night the accommodation was lacking in a big way! The beds were not comfortable, the towels were threadbare. No tv and no wifi in 2023 is unacceptable.

This resort is massively overpriced. Staff disinterested and overheard using foul language about guests when they thought they were alone. Accommodation is aged and poorly serviced. No wifi or telephone connectivity. No television. There are other options and I recommend you look into them if visiting Cradle Mountain

Whilst in a national park, it's hard to keep up appearances, although this is a tired lodge. The grounds are literally falling apart; the roads around the lodge are full of potholes, and maintenance seems to be a low priority. The rooms lack wifi (like it's 2025 eh) and the food is poor for the prices paid. It's average and we fortunately paid the high price for the top rooms, where talking with out guests at least we have a tv to watch in our room when the weather turned bad. Modern conveiences seem to be removed and whilst the nature experience is also all about the destination and tranquility so is modern conveniences expected. I would not return to this lodge.

Checking in is smooth and easy. Hotel staff are also very friendly and helpful. One major downside is no wifi in the room when even my own mobile data couldn’t get signal in mountainous areas and wifi only available at the lobby.

I'll start off by saying the location is absolutely incredible. There is wildlife and lots of great walks in the area and easy access to the park. We enjoyed sitting in the lodge with a drink and enjoying the fire or playing chess. However, the Cradle Mountain Lodge seems to be resting on its laurels and banking on the fact that you don't have many accommodation options in the area. I'm sure this place used to be nice but it is badly in need of updates to justify it's price. The bed was one of the worst I slept on all trip. All springs. The pillows were flat as well. There is no TV or WiFi in the rooms and mobile service only if you have Telstra. The rooms haven't been updated in years, and while clean and tidy, it shows. They even still have single pane windows throughout the property. The redeeming qualities of the room were the fireplace, views outside, and a complimentary little hamper with wine and snacks on arrival. That unfortunately is the only freebie you'll get. As for on site amenities, the shop is extremely expensive. Make sure you buy anything you want in your room ahead of time. Especially wine. The bistro was nice but expensive, the breakfast was ok. The private spa is amazing and one of the reasons we originally came here years ago. In the past you would get a welcome glass of champagne and some snacks with the pricey experience, but these days even after paying $205 for 90 mins, those little touches are both extra now. Our cabin was spotless, comfortable, and spacious, and the wood fireplace efficiently heated the room. The bathroom is also generously proportioned with a corner spa bath. The wet area at the entry is a sensible addition. We were welcomed by friendly and helpful staff at every opportunity, and we even indulged in a hot rock massage at the Waldheim Spa, which was a very luxurious experience.
Our cabin was spotless, comfortable, and spacious, and the wood fireplace efficiently heated the room. The bathroom is also generously proportioned with a corner spa bath. The wet area at the entry is a sensible addition. Had a fantastic stay at the Cradle Mountain Lodge. The service was fantastic, the breakfast was really good and the cabin was super comfortable, warm, cosy and clean. Really appreciated all the little extras too.

The cabin was very rustic from the outside but clean, cozy and modern on the inside. The beds were comfortable. There is easy access to some great walking tracks and the pathways to and from the lodge are well marked and lit. There are no TV’s but we had mobile service with Telstra at our cabin.

Great rustic property with gas fire heater in the room. Ample of space, with a large table which came in handy. Bathroom was basic, but clean, with ample of hot water, great water pressure in the shower. Bedding was comfortable. Note cabins are spread out around the property grounds. If you’re staying in the more distant cabins, it could take a few minutes uncovered walk to the main building. Not an issue, given many stay for hiking nearby, but just being mindful for some others.

Cradle mountain area simply amazing.. Lodge though starting to feel a tired and staff, while friendly were not up to standard worthy of the price charged for a Peppers resort. Bistro feels like a bit of a staff hangout of an evening and meals take approx 30 mins to arrive . Rooms were clean but basic, although our room and room next door had a creaky floor . Would try other accommodation in the area next visit as I didn’t feel it had the value for money expected.

There was a dust in the room, bathroom facilities were very average considering it was nearly $500 a night and that was the cheapest room. The quality of the food in the tavern was very average and the prices were very expensive considering the quality. The breakfast was luke warm on the three mornings we had it and the coffee was terrible (maybe the machine needs a clean?). It feels like with a few small upgrades it could be a 5 star accom but at the moment for what we paid it didn’t feel like it was quite there. The staff were very helpful and their knowledge of the area was fantastic and some great suggestions. The proximity to the park was amazing and the regular busses were incredible.

The staff were very helpful and the room was spotless. The complimentary biscuits, kitkats and wine was an extra special touch and the guest laundry was close by and free to use. The lodge is very picturesque with beautiful walks right at the front of reception.

Our cabin was delightful. Spacious and comfortable, with a real wood fire and a spa bath. The lodge is lovely. There is a large, inviting reception area with comfortable seating and board games, etc. There are two dining options on site: a fancy restaurant and a casual tavern. We enjoyed the fancy restaurant, and I appreciated that they let my son order from the children’s tavern menu. Wooden boardwalks connect everything on the site, so you can meander from cabin to lodge easily.

What an amazing location. Lovely clean, comfortable room. Nice view from the balcony of the bush and a dam with a platypus in it! You can also see wombats and wallabies walking past. Loved the fake gas fire in the room which kept it very warm. You do have to walk outside from your cabin to breakfast. The buffet breakfast could have more variety. The Highland restaurant was great though. Having no wifi, mobile reception or tv in the rooms gave us a complete break away.

The cabin was very rustic from the outside but clean, cozy and modern on the inside. The beds were comfortable. There is easy access to some great walking tracks and the pathways to and from the lodge are well marked and lit. There are no TV’s but we had mobile service with Telstra at our cabin.

We stayed in the basic room and it was gorgeous, modern, warm and comfortable. Initially turned off from reviews suggesting that it may be tired, we were surprised had how lovely the accommodation was. The restaurant was excellent for dinner. The outside of buildings looks basic but don’t let it fool you!

Although we really enjoyed our stay, the lodge is starting to show its age. The couch in the cabin was not overly comfortable for sitting in front of the fire place and the lack of a side or coffee table was a slight inconvenience.

The rooms need love. It’s outdated and many things need attention and repair. You have so much potential and you charge heaps of money, however you elect not to do much about the cabins, beds, mattresses..etc. The food at the Bistro was the most boring thing. Again, you have so much potential but you only elect to serve what an average pub in any Australian state serves. As for the “Highlands”, it’s overpriced and the quality is not top notch. My wife and I also went to the spa. Shower door without handle and the whole thing is old and needs some love. You need to add heaps more activities to keep people engaged and interested and keep the place alive. Yes people are there for bush walks but what about if it’s heavily raining for 2-3 days ? What do the families with kids do?

Pencil pine room with bakcony. Balcony surrounded by shrubs. No view. Room mice with gas glame fire, but bed terrible. Like sleeping on a brick and only a double size. Stayed 3 x nights. No sleep at all 3rd night. If stay was longer i would have booked into another hotel. Room pricey. Bed cheap and very hard. Must do better

Absolutely beautiful location and surroundings. I wish i had known that certain things weren't available during the time there before arriving—i would not have changed my plans but it would have given me time to plan my days or find other arrangements. The staff at reception were somewhat lacking in their knowledge and I didn't feel like they knew much about the area. Perhaps before staying in winter check to see if their hot water, laundry and various other things are functioning and accessible.

The staff were very helpful and the room was spotless. The complimentary biscuits, kitkats and wine was an extra special touch and the guest laundry was close by and free to use. The lodge is very picturesque with beautiful walks right at the front of reception.

The retreat is very secluded, quiet and the cleaning of our room on the Tuesday morning was of a high standard. However, the breakfast service is slow with food scarce at times and a lack of staff to clean away plates. Our coffee was delivered as we finished our breakfast. More staff required urgently.

The property was great but the Tavern was pretty terrible. There were 4 of us. Meals came out at different times, and one meal did not come out at all. We had to ask twice before we got it. Service was terrible, tables were not cleared, yet staff were laughing and mucking around. The Highlander restaurant was excellent.

Peppers Cradle mountain was well located and the facility’s were excellent. The restaurant was first class and we enjoyed dining there and having drinks in the bar. The reoccurring problem was a continuing mix up with our cabins. We were originally allocated No 98 which was then changed to No 75. This caused all sorts of issues such as we did not exist so couldn’t pay for dinner on the first night, all our reservations for breakfast and dinners were wiped so we have to constantly check whether we had reservations. as an overall comment on Peppers Cradle Mountain, it is outrageously priced for what you get and the staff need better training and communications skills as some of the reception staff could be described as surly when you questioned them and did not seem to understand the computer systems as they were constantly disappearing into the”back” office to get advice causing long delays in checking in and checking out

The cottage is perfectly located in from of the lake, from the room balcony, I can easily see the wild animals around. Room is perfectly furnished and clean. I wish I could have a chance to try the fine dining but it was fully occupied by Group tour. I would suggest the hotel reserve certain tables for other hotel guests. The only thing that I feel disappointed is about the check in experience at reception. It took more than 20 minutes to identify my booking while I am the only client to serve. Professional training to staff should be enhanced.

the location was great. some easy walks around the property wonderful. the view from the room was great able to see wildlife. close to cradle mountain trails. the tavern bar and bistro staff and food were great. the only disappointment was the service in the highland restaurant for dinner.

We stayed 3 nights. Buffet Breakfast was included and catered for all tastes and food types. The hotel had numerous of the Cradle Mountain walks starting near their reception as well as the shuttle bus to Ronnie Creek and Dove Lake being just over the road. They had the Highlander restaurant or the bar and bistro to eat at. The food was really great. The service was outstanding. Highly recommend staying at Peppers Cradle Mountain

Peppers Cradle Mountain is in such a handy location to Cradle Mountain and all of its many walks/hikes. Staff friendly and accommodating. Room was amazing with its own fireplace. The wild life around PCM is amazing, we saw kangaroos, platypus and a huge wombat. So special 💙

Totally different environment from what I’ve visited before! Its proximity to Cradle Mountain National Park is the reason I selected Peppers for the wildlife, hiking, and vistas! Would loved to have stayed longer. Cabins were very nice; fireplace, showers, cozy, service staff very nice, professional, and informative.

Perfect setting in the Tasmania wilderness. There are hiking tracks within walking distance from the lodge. The bus to dove lake is also right outside the lodge. This was the perfect base to explore cradle mountain.

Great location. Dining disappointing. On checking-in we were told that the restaurant was full. The "casual" alternative involved standing in a queue for 15 minutes as if in a cafe. When you are paying approx $750 per night for accomodation, table service for dinner would be appreciated.

The cradle mountain national park is absolutely breathtaking. However, it seems the Peppers cradle mountain resort new owners have not invested in the hotel. The bathrooms in the rooms need a renovation and the food was horrendous for what is expected of a Peppers resort. We were given plain boiled pasta for a kids spaghetti, and when we asked if there was bolognaise etc, they put ketchup on it.

There was a dust in the room, bathroom facilities were very average considering it was nearly $500 a night and that was the cheapest room. The quality of the food in the tavern was very average and the prices were very expensive considering the quality. The breakfast was luke warm on the three mornings we had it and the coffee was terrible (maybe the machine needs a clean?). It feels like with a few small upgrades it could be a 5 star accom but at the moment for what we paid it didn’t feel like it was quite there. The staff were very helpful and their knowledge of the area was fantastic and some great suggestions. The proximity to the park was amazing and the regular busses were incredible.

The rooms are a bit dated, as are the buildings but best place to stay to visit Cradle Mountain with kids. Loved it all! We saw platypus and wombats right outside our room. The restaurant was fabulous and all the staff were very helpful.

Ambiance of the environment was fabulous. The Highland Restaurant was expensive - $249 for a two course meal for a couple. Food was cold and the service was rushed. Not enough explanation given about the menu at the beginning of the evening. Buffet breakfast was brilliant- food and service.The Spa was understaffed, lacked the expected finesse and also expensive. Rooms were warm, cosy and well maintained. Service roads badly need resurfacing. No WiFi in the cabins or lodge.

The cabins were lovely and warm, with good facilities. The food was a bit disappointing. We ate in the Tavern one night and the Highlander restaurant the next. The Tavern did generic pub-food, with a very limited choice for vegetarians/vegans. The Highlander dinner was over-priced for what we got (we had the two-course menu). One of the sides was very over-salted, and the petit-fours and palate cleanser were not as described. The breakfast choices were mostly good (the porridge was excellent!), but the pastries on the first day were raw and inedible, and we had to ask the staff to replenish a number of the items. The staff were very friendly and apologetic about the issues, so no complaints there.

Awesome location with plenty of local hikes around the facility. Close to the bus to get into Cradle Mountain for longer hikes and access to Dove Lake. The bistro and bar area was very relaxing with plenty of options. The breakfast buffet hot food options could be improved but the lunch and dinner was excellent. The food was very good and the sticky date dessert is to die for. Plenty of wildlife in the area just going about their business. The staff were all super friendly and helpful which make the stay even better. Can’t wait to come back.

Such a great way to experience Cradle Mountain. The warmth, coziness and comfort of our cabin welcomed us after a day exploring. Mulled wine and dinner in front of the fire at the bistro memorable. The staff in all areas welcoming, efficient and obliging. The wallabies and waterbirds spotted over breakfast at the restaurant fabulous!

The property is in a fantastic location, only a 5 min walk to the shuttle bus that takes you up the mountain. There are also some lovely walks on the grounds with plenty of wombats, pademelons and possums to be seen. The staff are so helpful and add lovely touches like turning the heater/towel warmer on while you're out for the day and providing chopped wood for the fire. They even gave me chocolates and a card for my birthday! Property is looking a little tired but very clean and tidy. We'd go back again for sure.

Peppers Cradle Mountain was amazing! The setting was beautiful, the cabins so warm and cosy, the lodge reception area was really inviting, and the nature walks around the lodge were stunning. Highly recommend this place. We stayed for two perfect nights. The meals at the tavern are really great and well priced too.

The cabin was comfortable and clean. Food options were limited for a vegetarian (specially one who doesn’t want a minimum of two courses on the expensive restaurant ) and the Tavern which was noisy and just like a suburban pub) didn’t fit with the ethos of a beautiful natural environment. The staff were fantastic though and there are many gorgeous walks around the lodge.
The cabin was comfortable and clean. Food options were limited for a vegetarian (specially one who doesn’t want a minimum of two courses on the expensive restaurant ) and the Tavern which was noisy and just like a suburban pub) didn’t fit with the ethos of a beautiful natural environment. The staff were fantastic though and there are many gorgeous walks around the lodge.
