Perfect stop for dinner and sleep. Nothing fancy but it was clean and comfortable. Great shower pressure. Check in is inside the little convenience store by the fuel pumps. Well priced for the tired traveler.

This property is in the middle of nowhere but the perfect mid point when driving from Haines or Skagway to the interior. The rooms aren’t fancy but facility is clean and they have a store, restaurant, gas, and lots of parking. We had a decent meal in the restaurant and enjoyed a peaceful night of sleep. We plan on staying there again on the way back home. The owner/manager was very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed.

No carpet was nice. Very clean, hot water, convenience of microwave and fridge in the room, even cable tv. Pleasant surprise of accommodations in Destruction Bay s desolate area. Would stay there again.

i liked my view and that cover overhead when sitting outside. They had a restaurant and lounge that I didn't use. But there was no kettle or coffee maker and no microwave.

OK. First. Set realistic expectations for the middle of nowhere with a year round population of under 100. That said.... The good: This place was adequate for one night. We were in Room 1 (end room) with two beds, a table with two chairs, TV, mini fridge, sizeable dresser and plenty of room to spread out. We were able to park right next to our room to unload/load. Very convenient. The eyebrow raising observations: The shower was old and has rust stains which made cleanliness nearly impossible to see. So much so that we decided to skip a shower. (I have no doubt it was clean, just looked questionable.) One bed looked much newer than the other which had significant staining on the box spring. The window had a crack but didn't bother us. The restaurant has decent food and service is friendly. Note: We were told it's illegal to serve a hamburger anything other than well done. A well done burger can be tough. A well done Bison burger is tough. Lesson learned. Breakfast was really good. Overall dont skip this place if you're looking for a place to rest and refuel. It gets the job done.

The room was clean. It was convenient to have a restaurant and gas station on the same property. We had to wait a bit for the restaurant and gas station convenience store to open at 7am so we could grab coffee and breakfast snacks before leaving. I would definitely recommend to anyone passing through.

This hotel/restaurant/fuel stop/bar/convenience & souvenir store/RV park was an oasis on our AlCan Hiway journey! They are so well stocked with all your basic needs and the staff is always smiling and friendly. Food (we had supper and breakfast) was excellent. AlCan travelers are blessed to have a business like this at this location. Highly recommend if your travel timing matches this location for meals/fuel/lodging.

When I booked one room for 4 people I was told the rooms could not accomodate 4 persons. We then had to book two rooms at a hefty price. when we got there we paid for our rooms. When we to our rooms which were identical, there were two double beds, So that was a disapointment. then our cousins in the next identical room had a microwave and fridge, I was quite mad as we paid the same amount for the rooms. I will not give them a good reccomadaion. It is a shame as a Yukoner, I feel back for the tourist that are stuck to stay there. But there is no choice as it out in far country.

On the ground floor, the room above was about around midnight. The noise wouldn't have been so annoying earlier. Left the next morning around 7 so i can't answer for breakfast. Pretty decent considering it's the main fair in a community of 55 people.

I've stayed here in 2012, 2023 and most recently last week (October 2025). Between 2012 and 2023, the price only changed $5 to $10. However, between 2023 and 2025, it has gone up $50 per night, a steep increase. While some cosmetic changes have been made to make it look more modern, the actual changes needed to command a $50 increase have not happened. The ceiling paint was peeling in the bathroom, and the toilet is leaking beneath the floor, causing disgusting colouration and looking in need of desperate repair. However, the staff were very friendly and the food is great. Definitely recommend the mozza sticks as an appetizer.

The facilities were mostly well kept and the room was pretty nice, but we did find a couple dead bugs in the bathroom. Other than that, things seemed quite clean. The view was pretty good and the on-site restaurant was reasonably priced for pretty good food.

Talbot Arms is a run down motel. Our room had dirty walls and a broken window. Light switch plates were dirty and lamp shades were dusty. The head of the bed had a layer of dust. I can not recommend this motel to others.

The staff was very nice and accommodating. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and considering it was the only motel within about 100 miles, the rate was quite reasonable. I would recommend it and would stay here again if I was in the area.

Big fan of this motel…drove the ALCAN from the lower 48 to Anchorage and this place is a one of the best. The price is very reasonable with comfortable rooms with great views. The staff is incredibly kind and accommodating. The restaurant had some fantastic food although the menu is limited but that can be expected being so remote. We will definitely stay here again!

On an evening that I actually needed WiFi access it was a serious disappointment. It takes a long time just to get a partial signal through an access page across 4 WiFi options, all with the same middling signal strength. And then be told the Internet can\'t be reached and briefly getting into my email. And then, I\'m told my data usage has been met and I\'m no longer eligible for access. My recommendation? Don\'t advertise "Free Wifi" when you cannot provide it.

The staff was courteous and kind. Breakfast took a long time. We ordered at 7:20 a.m. and did not receive our food until 8:00. A.m.. probably best to not expect a quick meal at the same time as everyone else at 7:00. A.m..

Check in at 4, she (claimed to be the manager) didn’t show up until 5:15 and denied she was late. Nobody here at night apparently because one party was extremely loud past 2AM. It’s a good location but the experience with the manager and the noisy environment ruined our stay. Will not return

When I booked one room for 4 people I was told the rooms could not accomodate 4 persons. We then had to book two rooms at a hefty price. when we got there we paid for our rooms. When we to our rooms which were identical, there were two double beds, So that was a disapointment. then our cousins in the next identical room had a microwave and fridge, I was quite mad as we paid the same amount for the rooms. I will not give them a good reccomadaion. It is a shame as a Yukoner, I feel back for the tourist that are stuck to stay there. But there is no choice as it out in far country.

This property is in the middle of nowhere but the perfect mid point when driving from Haines or Skagway to the interior. The rooms aren’t fancy but facility is clean and they have a store, restaurant, gas, and lots of parking. We had a decent meal in the restaurant and enjoyed a peaceful night of sleep. We plan on staying there again on the way back home. The owner/manager was very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed.

Big fan of this motel…drove the ALCAN from the lower 48 to Anchorage and this place is a one of the best. The price is very reasonable with comfortable rooms with great views. The staff is incredibly kind and accommodating. The restaurant had some fantastic food although the menu is limited but that can be expected being so remote. We will definitely stay here again!

I've stayed here in 2012, 2023 and most recently last week (October 2025). Between 2012 and 2023, the price only changed $5 to $10. However, between 2023 and 2025, it has gone up $50 per night, a steep increase. While some cosmetic changes have been made to make it look more modern, the actual changes needed to command a $50 increase have not happened. The ceiling paint was peeling in the bathroom, and the toilet is leaking beneath the floor, causing disgusting colouration and looking in need of desperate repair. However, the staff were very friendly and the food is great. Definitely recommend the mozza sticks as an appetizer.

OK. First. Set realistic expectations for the middle of nowhere with a year round population of under 100. That said.... The good: This place was adequate for one night. We were in Room 1 (end room) with two beds, a table with two chairs, TV, mini fridge, sizeable dresser and plenty of room to spread out. We were able to park right next to our room to unload/load. Very convenient. The eyebrow raising observations: The shower was old and has rust stains which made cleanliness nearly impossible to see. So much so that we decided to skip a shower. (I have no doubt it was clean, just looked questionable.) One bed looked much newer than the other which had significant staining on the box spring. The window had a crack but didn't bother us. The restaurant has decent food and service is friendly. Note: We were told it's illegal to serve a hamburger anything other than well done. A well done burger can be tough. A well done Bison burger is tough. Lesson learned. Breakfast was really good. Overall dont skip this place if you're looking for a place to rest and refuel. It gets the job done.

The room was clean. It was convenient to have a restaurant and gas station on the same property. We had to wait a bit for the restaurant and gas station convenience store to open at 7am so we could grab coffee and breakfast snacks before leaving. It might be the saddest place we stayed in on our Al-Can trip. In fact, it might be the only choice on this particular stretch of highway. Has not been updated for decades.
