Econo Lodge By the Falls

It was inconvenient that we had to go to the office to get ice. The heated pool was very cold also. It was a very convenient location. I also wish we had known there is no elevator.

The rooms are clean and the beds comfortable, property is well kept, the staff is very nice, and the convenience to Clifton Hill and the Falls is excellent. The only complaint is that the heated pool did not feel heated at all, it was not usable in our opinion.

Only thing was pool was cold this time around.

Parking convenient, great location next to Clifton Hills. Beds weren't good, felt springs and lumpy pillows. Very dated. Disappointed that pool only opened at noon after check-out. Pool hours are noon to 11pm. Overall won't stay here again.

This motel is very close to Clifton Hill where the main attractions are, actually, across the street. It proved to be quite, staff were friendly and very accommodating. I only have one complaint; the back sign of the motel states, "heated pool", which is not the case. I didn't expect a heated pool, but after seeing the sign, I felt a little let down because we used it once during our stay and it was cold enough. Would have used it more if it were heated. No refrigerator or microwave, no breakfast. Staff is there 24 hrs. a day to take care of your needs. I had some medicine that needed to be refrigerated and staff took care of that for me. Overall, we were happy.

There was no continental breakfast.

For the price, and to stay at Clifton Hill, the hotel was was great. Free parking was definitely a plus. I liked the connecting room feature and the 2 sinks as well. Staff was very friendly. However, the rooms are outdated, the bed linen, the fixtures. It looks straight out of the 1980s. No microwave or refrigerator in the room and they give out bags of ice at the front desk. The inside heated pool was nice but the water level was really low during our 1 night stay. All in all, if you're looking for a very short stay right at Clifton Hill, this is the place. I think its a step up from a motel.

Wanted to charge me extra to park at the property before check in time😡😡

We had no major issues. Clean, AC worked and staff were great. The wifi was basically non-existent and I couldn’t get a cell signal hence the ding on the facility. We could walkout to the falls easily. Is this the Ritz? Not even close however it is an affordable and well maintained option for those who just need a place to sleep.

Disappointed mostly by pool hours. Didnt open 12 noon. Check out at 11. No time to swim

The carpet of the room need shampooing and insects were found inside the room. The entrance of the property was difficult to find. I had driven along Victoria Avenue several times but still I could not find it. Finally I had to call them to get the direction to the entrance.

The place is pretty dirty and old. Rooms are just clean enough, there’s black mold on the ceiling of the bathroom. Free parking though and it was crazy cheap! The AC is not AC. It’s like a fan really. You had to get ice from the front desk which sucked as well. Not many plugs, had to do gymnastics to get to them. But overall quite a bargain for the area.

Housekeeping seems lazy when they clean the rooms, especially the bathroom. Found hair all over the floor, shower and sink.

The hotel was very disappointing. The room carpets were dirty and smelled bad, making it difficult to walk in. The carpets were stained and looked neglected, and the overall atmosphere was unsafe and frightening. I felt uneasy rather than relaxed throughout my stay. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a clean and safe place to stay.

I stayed there twice (in Room #115 and #222) and got bedbug bites. I showed the bites to the front desk, and they said they would change the sheets. As everyone knows, changing the sheets does not resolve the bedbug issue; they need to hire an expert to eliminate the bugs. I stayed here for business and was supposed to stay longer, but I canceled all my reservations. I contacted Expedia about this problem, but since the plan was non-refundable, they can't provide a refund. This is their responsibility, not mine. I will write about this because I don’t want other guests to face the same problem. I am very disappointed with Expedia as well.

The room smelled musty and was very dark. Not enough light anywhere to see inside the room. Many of the outlets did not work. Parking was tough during the day as the hotel sells spots to people visiting the tourist area. Staff were great and helpful. It’s a tired property doing its best. Price was really good all things considered.

Shower and bathroom has mold and the fan doesn’t work. No fridge or microwave. It would have been nice to get a food voucher or something since there is no breakfast included. Would be nice to have a smart tv to connect to.

I had bedbug bites in Room #222. They changed the sheets, but the problem was not resolved.

This motel has BEDBUGS in ROOM 222, We stayed Sat. Aug 31st - Sept 2nd 2024, I called the motel after I checked out at 5am because I was so itchy I could not sleep and informed them when it was daylight and I was able to see my arms and legs. I went to ER and was told, I had bedbug bites and was having a bad reaction. I called to informed the hotel and a manager was suppose to get back to me and has not. PLEASE DO NOT STAY, yes it may be convenient because of the area, but u do not want to bring BEDBUGS back home or go through what I am going through, with this itchiness and even had to get a shot due to the reaction. Hotel needs to change those comforters and do better. PLEASE DO NOT STAY

Looks like the bed sheets are not changed and not checked properly. We found hair strands in the bed sheets. One pillow case is so dirty with stains.

The good: We were in room 221. The A/C worked GREAT. The water pressure in the shower was great, and better than most in the area. The great: The room was QUIET. I slept well, except for my friend's snoring. The bad: I think there was three channels on the TV. I don't spend much time in the room except for sleeping, but it would be nice to have some TV to watch while I munch on my Uber Eats. (Really, why don't they put a free music channel or something? Music is great.) Questionable: There are two sinks in the room: One is the bathroom, and one just outside the bathroom. The soap to wash your hands, after finishing your business, is in the main room. It's doable, but slightly awkward if you are used to washing your hands before you leave the bathroom. Different: To get ice (ice baby), you need to go to the front desk and they give you a bag. I have to say I liked that, except for the walk to the front desk. (But that is rather lazy of me to complain about that, there are many hotels where I have to go to a different floor, or the ice machine is a long hike.) The mattress was great for my size/weight. (The room had two queens.) Lots of activities and food in the near area. Niagara Casino is, what I would consider, a short walk. It's busy during peak season, and LOTS of people. The front desk staff were helpful and very nice to speak with!

Nothing fancy, just somewhere to sleep , out most of the time taking in the area, some concerns with the linens (pillow case and sheet), curtains had holes in them, can see they are well past their expiry dates , otherwise had a good view of Clifton hills from our room, and got ice at the reception, no microwave and no fridge

Not enough outlets to plug into for CPAPs or cell phones. We had to buy a power bar, the motel had none available. The Wifi did not work at all. That was very annoying as our cellular signal wasn't working properly and would have needed the Wifi. Very noisy, We could hear the people in the hallways. Our view outside on the balcony was a driveway with many garbage bags just sitting there. We did not use the balcony. The one thing that this place had going for it is that it's right across the street from Clifton Hill and many attractions.

The walls aren't insulated well enough to keep out the noise. The TV and bed in the room I stayed in were old. Other than that, it was overall a positive experience.

We stayed the night it was ok but it was first time weve been into this place and we noticed that they dont have microwave we had to ask the receptionist if we can warm my sons food very inconvinient and also there is no plug closer to bed to charge your phone.

Needed more lighting in room. Fans were super noisy.

Location is amazing. Staff was great. Room definitely needs to be updated and their needs to be a mini fridge and a microwave in the room. I found it so odd that their wasn't, only place I've even been like that. I just felt 235$ a night would be a little bit nicer.

It’s nice and close to casino Niagara. It has a nice pool, rooms are a good size. It’s very difficult at check in time, they seem quite strict with their rules. We have been a few times and check in is always very congested and slow. The staff are helpful, they are doing their jobs,

It’s nothing fancy or extravagant but the room was clean, staff was extremely friendly and helpful. It was within walking distance of almost every thing we had planned to see. Would definitely stay here again if we ever go back to Niagra.

I like the place, clean and convenient. However, I didn't appreciate the staff at the information desk. There was a noticeable lack of comfort and hospitality.

We enjoyed our stay here the staff was excellent. The only issue was parking because they would sell their parking spots to other people and sometimes we would have to park in another parking lot across from our hotel.

Good location and friendly staff. I checked in my luggage, but it was just left next to the front desk, so I was worried that someone would take it.

They did not have Expedia reservation on file had to jump thru hoops then given filthy room. When we complained they gave us a better one. Terrible way to do business

A great budget friendly place to stay when visiting Niagara Falls. Walk to Clifton Hill, the Falls, restaurants and other attractions. Free parking and spacious rooms. Service is outstanding. Front Desk is always helpful whether you need extra pillows or anything else. John has always been awesome and so accommodating and makes us feel welcome whenever we stay here. This has always been our first choice when staying overnight in Niagara. Prices are great compared to other options in the area and location is the best. Great for families or couples.

We booked from Thur to Sun. We checked in thur night and asked for DND. We came in late fri and went straight to sleep. When we woke on sat, patio door was smashed. We called reception and were told there was a crack in the patio door. When they came up they said it was our fault and had to pay a large sum right now or they would call police. The cleaner said it wasn’t like that yesterday but we requested DND so they shouldn’t have been there at all Friday so how do they know the condition as of Friday? They made us leave immediately and did not refund for the night we didn’t stay. We were fully cooperative, we told them about it and they still threatened to call police. The crack that was there made it fragile and they made us pay for the damage.

We arrived around 1pm and check in is at 3pm. I ask nicely is there anyway we can get in our room a little early. No we have no clean rooms. That’s fine I obviously want a clean room. So I ask can we at least park here until we check in since we are guest. They wouldn’t even let us park there for 2hrs until check in. So we had to use a parking lot 2 blocks away and pay $30 to park for 2hrs. The room was semi clean and extremely outdated. The mattress was horrible. They require a deposit at check in which sits on your credit card as pending for 2 weeks. The only good thing about this place is the location.

We thought we’d try this place for its location to the local attractions (Clifton Hill, walking distance to the falls etc..). As parking at the attractions is very costly this was a great option. It’s by no means a luxury stay but the rooms are spacious and clean. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The desk is staffed around the clock if you need help and they are very generous with bags of ice if requested. The room was surprisingly quiet considering the hotel being located right on Clifton. Surprising bonus for an economy stay is the pool. With an actual deep end no less. Pool and its area is well maintained and at a good temp. We will be returning to this location in our future visits.

Location was everything. Literally one minute walk to Clifton hill attractions. Not too close to be loud but just right. It was very spacious for me and my family. I would have like it if it came with a mini fridge and microwave but it was great.

The hotel was in a great location for activities for kids, restaurants, etc. It was also within walking distance to the bus that went to all of the major Niagara Falls tourist lications.

Didn't have food options And comfort was good

Si arrivée avant l heure de Check in, possibilité de laisser la voiture pour 10 $ CA. Chambre vieillote, équipement usé, peu de prises électriques. Pas trouvé la ice maker, pas de distributeur d eau, pas de petit déjeuner possible. Nous n avons pas utilisé la piscine ( odeur de chlore trop fort pour un si petit endroit et chaleur étouffante) Hyper bien placé, permer d aller se promener de rentrer se reposer avant de diner et d aller au feu d artifice.

Price was reasonable . Very close to all attractions at Niagara falls. Didn't like about about $250 deposit and holding it for 2-3 biz days. No breakfast offered.
