Lovely hotel. Clean, tidy and comfortable. Not as close to the town centre as promised. Stunning views of the rowing lake from the bar/restaurant. Breakfast was extra but good.

Everything is self-service. You check yourself in on a screen and print your own room card while a member of staff watches. Have to queue at breakfast to make toast on a toaster which only does two slices. Apparently, bedrooms are only serviced after five days. Great position, great water view, and easy walk along the river to the city centre

Loved the view of the lake at breakfast.Very good nights sleep, bed very comfortable and clean.Staff very helpful, ordered a taxi for me. Great.

First room we was given smelt of cigarette smoke this was quickly changed after noting this to reception. Rooms are very basic and the hotel could use some updating in hall areas. Food/breakfast was plentifully! We arrived late for breakfast but they quickly fixed up a full English breakfast and allowed us to access the continental breakfast area. Staff were beyond amazing! Parking was easy and it's a short walk from the city centre. Basic and convenient. Lovely walk around the hotel.

O hotel era simples, mas a cama era confortável. Ambiente do quarto meio escuro. Tinha uma área de Happy hour de frente para uma lagoa, bastante agradável. Quanto ao café da manhã, não usufruímos. Quanto aos funcionários, foram prestativos.

Accommodation was clean and spacious. it was a business trip therefore only need a room to sleep and do some work after hours, it was a three day stay but they either don't do room service or forgot my room as know one attended to make bed or change the used coffee cups whilst I was at work. The restaurant staff were helpful in giving me clean cups and top us of milk and coffee to use. Breakfast was served early buffet style and was good quality. Unfortunately they over charged me for breakfast as I was the only one staying they charged me for two each day. the staff couldn't refund my card at the premises and had to ask head office to sort the over charge they took my details and I am currently awaiting the refund. They do serve meals in the bar and there is a Chef and Brewer restaurant alongside the premises. I dined there each evening as there was a wider choice on the menu. I was unaware on arrival that there is an concession on on Parking and paid for the first night at the machine. Hotel was ideally placed for work.

The hotel itself is okay, a bit pricey for the facilities but staff were helpful and polite. The nightmare started with the parking fine I received after my stay, despite registering my car at check-in. I now have an aggressive fine company wasting my time and I wish I hadn't stayed here at all. BEWARE BOOKING FOR THIS HOTEL!

There is a large park adjacent to the hotel. Serene and beautiful view from the dining area. Also, the property seems to have been renovated. EXCELLENT shower. Need to keep the dining area clean. Bread crumps were fallen on the seats BUT the tables were cleaned. Coffee fallen on the floor. Jugs used for water, apple and orange juice were showing old water stains (salt deposit marks).

Good value for money for a two-night stay. Having booked one room for myself and a room for each of my two children, the self-service check-in required me to make a separate payment for each booked room. However, they were good-sized double rooms, with adequate facilities. I found someone else's sweet wrapper under my bed and the bath/shower taps were not very precise. There was some noise from guests noisily shutting doors after midnight on our corridor but the beds were comfortable.

Terrible. Shocking. Avoid. Got to room. Was OK. Decor tired. Was windy and wind was whistling through the windows. Very noisy. Room was large with a lounge area but the entire room had 3 small wall lights which was not enough light to work in. Room was cold and heaters cut out after 2 mins. Luckily I had a heater in the car which I brought in. Noticed in bathroom in morning there was the previous occupants rubbish still in the bin. Makes me wonder what else was not cleaned properly. Went to bar for dinner. Waited 35 mins for pie and mash. Mash was cold. Pie clearly cooked, frozen and put in microwave as crust was so hard knife and fork would not go through. Complained and swapped for a sandwich and chips. Chips were good but sandwich had so much mayo on it was inedible. Breakfast. Hottest thing was the O Juice. Terrible. Everything was cold. Had to go through 10 plates to find a clean one in the pile and cutlery not clean. Shocking. Ended up with toast and a cup of tea. Was told manager would contact me. 12 hours later and nothing. Avoid.

This hotel frequently sells twin rooms as doubles but they are poor versions of doubles and the booking system sells a double room not 2 singles pushed together. There is no attempt or effort to fill that dreadful gap down the middle, not even zipped together just a huge gap that you cant escape from all.night. They should not sell such poor twins as a double, when you buy a double you expect a double and there is.never any notification to say you might have a single pushed together - cannot be trusted

Nobody to check in, all self checking. Hotel very dated. Rooms average to poor. No nets in window so having to have curtains closed during the day or in full view of everyone outside. Kettle didnt work, tv doesnt even get basic freeview. Only channels were itv, c4, and c5, so unable to watch Mod. Stains on the duvet (pic attached), shower that drips for an hour after use. Extractor that stays on all night even with light off. No charging points, no power points near the bed and lightswitchs so far away from the bed you either have to get out of bed to reach them or move the bed within reach. As no reception i tried phoning several times but no answer. Due to been up early in the morning (5am) i was early to bed so unable to even see if there was any night staff about who could at least change the kettle so i could get a hot drink in the morning. Will recommend to company never to use this hotel again. Plenty of others in the area for same money and better standards. App unable to load photos at 620am 21st July 24

Booked this trip as a girls weekend away. The hotel is beautiful, the restaurant and staff were brilliant. Checking in was smooth and the housekeeping was great. We did however have an issue with the bathroom door. The lock was broken and led to each of us becoming locked in the bathroom at some point. Even when we weren’t using the lock it would engage and was very difficult to open again. I did bring this up with reception but nobody got back into contact with me. I wouldn’t have felt safe allowing my children in the room due to the lock

Disappointing stay. Booked at is its conveniently located near motorways and offers great views of the park and fantastic place to run or walk. Also bathroom was really nice though, with large and modern shower. but... Rooms decor is bit tired and depressing (In my opinion). Very ignorant young receptionist. Barely glancing away from her phone and not even bothered to say good morning or good bye, giving very bad first and last impression of the service, giving that she suppose to be the face of the hotel. The worst for me though was the smell. Room had that mixture of stuffy/musty/dumpy smell that just linger on your clothes for the rest of the day. Breakfast was average. Just standard full English with extremely modest continental options, and if you come towards the end of the service, they run out of few things.

Checkin and checkout were friendly and efficient. Some parts of the room looked a little tired like dings in the door frame, but the bathroom looked recently renovated and the shower was lovely. No real complaints especially for the price.

Room was nice and clean, Check in was different as it was a machine. There didn’t seem to be any staff about and only one lady trying to serve drinks and take orders for food. Would I stay here again. Yes. Would I eat here again. Definitely not. They didn’t have half of the stuff on the menu and what I ordered was uneatable.

The people on reception where great, however i booked through booking and on arrival it was an automatic reception, i went through this process, and since then i was double charged by the hotel, called several times since i stayed and found out in was double charged, AND NO ANSWER! NOT ONE PERSON has answered the phone, be carful people....you maybe double charged like me.

First room we was given smelt of cigarette smoke this was quickly changed after noting this to reception. Rooms are very basic and the hotel could use some updating in hall areas. Food/breakfast was plentifully! We arrived late for breakfast but they quickly fixed up a full English breakfast and allowed us to access the continental breakfast area. Staff were beyond amazing! Parking was easy and it's a short walk from the city centre. Basic and convenient. Lovely walk around the hotel.

Checkin and checkout were friendly and efficient. Some parts of the room looked a little tired like dings in the door frame, but the bathroom looked recently renovated and the shower was lovely. No real complaints especially for the price.

I liked the property but the weather was inclement and therefore was unable to explore the area around the property. The self check in process was a faff, and would be much easier if the receptionist sitting there was utilised in this way! One night of my 3 night stay was disturbed throughout the night by noisy guests in rooms nearby, being inconsiderate, and unaware of the impact they were having on other guests. The staff apologised the following morning, but that was all they did. Could have made the stay more comfortable following complaint.

Accommodation was clean and spacious. it was a business trip therefore only need a room to sleep and do some work after hours, it was a three day stay but they either don't do room service or forgot my room as know one attended to make bed or change the used coffee cups whilst I was at work. The restaurant staff were helpful in giving me clean cups and top us of milk and coffee to use. Breakfast was served early buffet style and was good quality. Unfortunately they over charged me for breakfast as I was the only one staying they charged me for two each day. the staff couldn't refund my card at the premises and had to ask head office to sort the over charge they took my details and I am currently awaiting the refund. They do serve meals in the bar and there is a Chef and Brewer restaurant alongside the premises. I dined there each evening as there was a wider choice on the menu. I was unaware on arrival that there is an concession on on Parking and paid for the first night at the machine. Hotel was ideally placed for work.

We arrived on the afternoon of a bank holiday, the place was totally understaffed and the poor 2 staff that were rostered on did a magnificent job under the circumstances, even whilst copping abuse and worse from some guests. Jamal alone in the bar to serve drinks, take meal orders, deliver meals and clean up was unbelievable and kept his composure all night. Marina on reception and various other duties was also fantastic. Rooms and establishment is very good condition, clean and tidy

Lovely hotel. Clean, tidy and comfortable. Not as close to the town centre as promised. Stunning views of the rowing lake from the bar/restaurant. Breakfast was extra but good.

Property is in the good location, close to city center. I like the man make lake front of it. There is a good waking track. I don't like the condition of the hotel and the rooms. Breakfast wasn't good. The poor girl seemed over worked, trying to get the breakfast ready. Morning coffee was cold and old during our 3 days stay.

Disappointing stay. Booked at is its conveniently located near motorways and offers great views of the park and fantastic place to run or walk. Also bathroom was really nice though, with large and modern shower. but... Rooms decor is bit tired and depressing (In my opinion). Very ignorant young receptionist. Barely glancing away from her phone and not even bothered to say good morning or good bye, giving very bad first and last impression of the service, giving that she suppose to be the face of the hotel. The worst for me though was the smell. Room had that mixture of stuffy/musty/dumpy smell that just linger on your clothes for the rest of the day. Breakfast was average. Just standard full English with extremely modest continental options, and if you come towards the end of the service, they run out of few things.

Room was nice and clean, Check in was different as it was a machine. There didn’t seem to be any staff about and only one lady trying to serve drinks and take orders for food. Would I stay here again. Yes. Would I eat here again. Definitely not. They didn’t have half of the stuff on the menu and what I ordered was uneatable.

There is a large park adjacent to the hotel. Serene and beautiful view from the dining area. Also, the property seems to have been renovated. EXCELLENT shower. Need to keep the dining area clean. Bread crumps were fallen on the seats BUT the tables were cleaned. Coffee fallen on the floor. Jugs used for water, apple and orange juice were showing old water stains (salt deposit marks).

Terrible. Shocking. Avoid. Got to room. Was OK. Decor tired. Was windy and wind was whistling through the windows. Very noisy. Room was large with a lounge area but the entire room had 3 small wall lights which was not enough light to work in. Room was cold and heaters cut out after 2 mins. Luckily I had a heater in the car which I brought in. Noticed in bathroom in morning there was the previous occupants rubbish still in the bin. Makes me wonder what else was not cleaned properly. Went to bar for dinner. Waited 35 mins for pie and mash. Mash was cold. Pie clearly cooked, frozen and put in microwave as crust was so hard knife and fork would not go through. Complained and swapped for a sandwich and chips. Chips were good but sandwich had so much mayo on it was inedible. Breakfast. Hottest thing was the O Juice. Terrible. Everything was cold. Had to go through 10 plates to find a clean one in the pile and cutlery not clean. Shocking. Ended up with toast and a cup of tea. Was told manager would contact me. 12 hours later and nothing. The staff was absolutely amazing. Kind people throughout the hotel. We were there under unfortunate circumstances and the staff was wonderfully accommodating. The view was amazing and the food was great. We would stay again and recommend it to everyone.

Stayed for three nights over a recent weekend to provide a base for gigs in three separate places (Bedford, London, Cambridge)...was decently priced (especially when I used one of my Hotel.com reward nights BUT I could have done better booking direct as they offered a three for the price of two deal including breakfast... I did buy breakfast on the Sunday morning BUT that was a mistake as the kitchen closed at ten (not eleven as per the website) and arriving at nine forty five I had little choice or selection - no sausages, a couple of bits of bacon and just a single scoop of beans...my bad!

O hotel era simples, mas a cama era confortável. Ambiente do quarto meio escuro. Tinha uma área de Happy hour de frente para uma lagoa, bastante agradável. Quanto ao café da manhã, não usufruímos. Quanto aos funcionários, foram prestativos.

Booked last minute. Pleasantly surprised... lovely room, clean bathroom. Quilt cover had some black marks (looked like something from washing machine or ironing also something that looked like dried glue). Bed was comfortable enough although bed frame squeaked when i was turning over during the night...apart from a few very minor things, would definitely stay again. The surrounding area is peaceful, calming and fresh.
