Stayed 1 night

Check-in was a very unpleasant experience that I wouldn’t wish on anyone arriving at a hotel in the evening. My friend was refused accommodation on the grounds that the ID was in the old format. A few weeks earlier, in the same situation, this had not caused any problems. On the same trip, there were no issues at the other hotels. An attempt to contact the manager was met with contempt. We therefore had to find another hotel in a hurry. We had three more nights booked; we tried to get a refund for all four nights via hotels.com: unsuccessful. So, we had to book another hotel, incurring further costs. A written request for clarification was sent to management – the response boiled down to: you should be aware of Cambodian regulations. I did not ask for written proof of this rigid adherence to detail; Khmer is a delicate language… The hotelier’s trade is hospitality; putting people who have booked and paid out on the street is disgraceful. To return to the regulations, the management does not apply the same strictness when the stakes are incomparably higher. The hotel’s only staircase is therefore the emergency staircase. And before reaching the exit, it leads in the corridor of the kitchen, the main source of fire outbreaks. Better still, there is a door in this corridor with a latch fitted on the outside. Welcome in case of emergency. The good news : warm water and AC (noisy but working).

It was just a bed for a stop over night and served its purpose well. Rooms are verty clean and comfortable but small. Breakfast buffet style was good.

Stayed 2 nights

Arrived at 10:30 p.m. after a long flight and just wanted a shower and sleep. Instead, I walked into a filthy, neglected room. The bathtub had a dirty ring of who-knows-what and well over 15 hairs. If it were one or two—or even three—I wouldn’t mention it, but this was disgusting. There were burn marks inside the tub and along the rim. I called the front desk and was asked if I wanted her to clean it; she spent 45 minutes scrubbing a tub that should never have been given to a guest. The rest of the room was the same: badly scratched desk, paint-flaking chair, and walls with strange dirty marks. Wi-Fi on the 5th floor didn’t work. My room faced the smoking patio, and guests constantly left the door open, so smoke poured into the hallway outside my door. On day two, staff “warned” me about smoking in the room. I never smoked inside—only on the patio they provide. Their cameras would confirm that. At checkout they still tried to charge me $50 for smoking; I refused and left. That’s not a mistake—it’s a cash grab. I stay in hotels about 140 nights a year. This place deserves a reality check: filthy tub with a scummy ring and burn marks, damaged furniture, marked walls, dead Wi-Fi, smoke entering the hall, and a bogus smoking charge. The glowing Google reviews read like SEO fluff, not real stays. It feels like money is going toward image and another white Mercedes S-Class, not maintenance. Not remotely deserving of the 4-star Google rating. Avoid.
