Fantastic location on Ipanema beach. Excellent restaurant for breakfast and dinner. Nice rooftop bar with a (small) pool. Good sized rooms which are comfortable and well maintained. Highly recommended.

Great 4 star hotel. Rooftop at sunset is a highlight. Front desk staff super friendly and super helpful. Located right on the beach, close to restaurants and nightlife, I'd come back for sure.

Had a great stay for 1 night. We enjoyed free chairs and umbrellas on the beach and had an amaxing sea view from our room.We loved the roof top bar and were able to use the room until 2pm at no extra cost Would definitely recommend this hotel. The staff were very helpful.

Fantastic hotel and staff. The view is amazing. Right next to the beach and the hotel provides chairs and beach towels. The breakfast in the morning is delicious. We had a great stay in this place.

Excellent location, in front of the beach and walking distance to many restaurants, shopping area, parks nearby. The hotel offers a good breakfast with a variety of items including tropical fruits, pastries, cakes, cereal, fruit juices, cheeses etc. the only drawback is the elevator. Only 2 small ones to service the 15 floors of rooms and unfortunately one of them is also a service elevator with the staff moving mattresses, cleaning supplies etc throughout the day along with guests carrying luggage. Overall a good place to spend a few days in Rio’s best neighborhood.

The location is excellent - beach right across the street, lots of food options, police outpost right on the corner, great connectivity if you take an Uber. Rooftop pool and view (especially sunset) is a bucket list experience. The restaurant on top is great, and the older gentleman working in the rooftop bar is the dearest! We loved him! The rooms are beautiful and recently renovated and beds are comfortable. All receptionist speak nice English. Breakfast has good options and you can enjoy it with the view to the Ipanema beach. One thing is they can seriously improve about the breakfast is about how they preserve the warm dishes. While the food is kept in those metal dishes which are floating in hot water, the staff on purpose keeps the lids open. The food is basically cold (eggs, sausages, bacon), and even if you dig under, it comes as luke warm. We tried closing it a few times, but the staff comes and reopens them, for display I guess. Completely defeats the purpose.

Our shower had mold and hair from previous guests. The floors throughout had sand and if you walked barefoot your feet would be dirty. We paid 35 dollars per day for our pet and the hotel provided us with one pet pad for our four day stay. Only two towels were provided for three guests and we had to call several times to have an additional towel. The room was not cleaned during our outings and they came to clean our room at 5pm after we complained to the front desk. The staff was not approachable and welcoming. I could say a lot more about my not so pleasant stay at this hotel. It should not be rated as a four star hotel, more like a two! I will not be recommending this hotel to another person.

Room was very clean and done every day, staff very nice and always willing to help, got a nice surprise for my birthday that melted my heart, and they prepared a bag with food due to our early departure, everything was amazing.

Acomodações muito limpas, serviço da camareiras ótimo, serviço de quarto e recepção também do mesmo nível. Sem duvida alguma a localização é um ponto fortíssimo deste hotel. Porém quero destacar dois pontos fracos, que talvez coloquem em cheque meu retorno a este hotel. 1º - Os elevadores são extremamente lentos, tornando irritante a entrada e saída dos mesmos. 2º - Um hotel deste nível come esta localização não oferecer serviço de praia, É INADMISSIVEL, pois todos os outros deste nível oferecem.

Great location. Staff was nice but only dealt with them at check in which was smooth. Hot water would run out everyday depending on when you decide to take a shower. Pool was closed for remodeling (no info about it on Expedia when booking). Overall it was meh, you won’t get blown away nor will you love it. More of a 3 star hotel than what Expedia had rated this.

Nice property. Right across the street from the beach. Great staff. Room was good. A/C was a little marginal the first night but they fixed it right away. Overall, very good stay. Will definitely return.

O check in e o check out transcorreram bem, com destaque à cordialidade da equipe de recepção do hotel. O tamanho do apartamento não decepcionou, mas o banheiro, sim! Muito pequeno e desproporcional à dimensão do quarto. O cofre não funcionava, o telefone interno também não e o ar condicionado estava com funcionamento precário. Tudo isso demonstra que a manutenção do hotel deixa a desejar! Pontos altos: o café da manhã e a comida do restaurante!

The closeness to ipanema beach is unbelievable and the view is amazing. Wish i would have stayed in a higher floor. That would be my biggest complaint, you could hear the car noises in the first floor. The bar view is amazibg and the breakfast was solid.

A estadia como um todo foi boa, entretanto não recomendo este hotel para ninguém. O estabelecimento em seu anúncio no site oferece o benefício de upgrade de quarto grátis para clientes com status gold, desde que haja disponibilidade de quarto para isso. A reserva foi feita nesse hotel justamente por causa desse benefício, entretanto, o upgrade não foi realizado. A estadia como um todo foi boa, entretanto não recomendo este hotel para ninguém. O estabelecimento em seu anúncio no site oferece o benefício de upgrade de quarto grátis para clientes com status gold, desde que haja disponibilidade de quarto para isso. my family and I recently stayed at this hotel and was impressed by its great location. The hotel is conveniently situated, making it easy to access nearby attractions and transportation options. The cleanliness and upkeep of the rooms were excellent. Breakfast was enough and the staff was friendly. However, I found the check-in process to be quite tedious due to the mandatory form that needed to be filled out before you arrive ( not very friendly user). While I understand the importance of collecting information for safety and security purposes, the process felt overly cumbersome and time-consuming. It would be beneficial for the hotel to streamline this process to make it more efficient for guests ( system wise) Overall, despite the minor inconvenience of the check-in process, I enjoyed my stay at this hotel and would recommend it to others looking for a well-located and well-maintained accommodation option.

I’ve stayed at Sol Ipanema 3 times this year. And have been coming here for past 25 years. Love the hotel, the staff and the location cannot be better - right in the heart of Ipanema beach. The waiter staff at breakfast are outstanding, they were the perfect start for every morning. Sol Ipanema will always be my first choice in Rio

Clean room, always got it cleaned every day. Awesome location, so close to everything and very safe. Cute little pool with amazing view on rooftop. Staff…. Impressive. So kind and always helpful. Sol Ipanema was amazing and convenient to a myriad of Rios best offerings. Its surrounded by Ipanema beach, ample restaurants, Favela Vidigal. Minutes away from Copacabana. The staff was incredible. They were friendly and accomodating.

Hotel guests get umbrellas and chairs at the beach included with your stay. Breakfast is included. The restaurant is fantastic for dinner also. Friendly hotel staff that speak English well. Room is not the most updated but who travels to stay in their room?

The location is excellent - beach right across the street, lots of food options, police outpost right on the corner, great connectivity if you take an Uber. Rooftop pool and view (especially sunset) is a bucket list experience. The restaurant on top is great, and the older gentleman working in the rooftop bar is the dearest! We loved him! The rooms are beautiful and recently renovated and beds are comfortable. All receptionist speak nice English. Breakfast has good options and you can enjoy it with the view to the Ipanema beach. One thing is they can seriously improve about the breakfast is about how they preserve the warm dishes. While the food is kept in those metal dishes which are floating in hot water, the staff on purpose keeps the lids open. The food is basically cold (eggs, sausages, bacon), and even if you dig under, it comes as luke warm. We tried closing it a few times, but the staff comes and reopens them, for display I guess. Completely defeats the purpose.

Excellent experience! The staff was very friendly. Breakfast has a lot of variety of food and it was delicious! The Hotel has an excellent location . I totally recommend to go to the rooftop and have some drinks at sunset! Highly recommended!

This was my 10th time to visit Rio, and I took three friends who had never been to this amazing city. They loved the hotel - being able to look out onto Ipanema Beach was so important for all of them. The restaurant at Sol Ipanema is much better than almost any hotel restaurant at which I have dined. The staff were courteous and helpful.

The rooms are clean and more luxurious than others in the area, the welcoming / security staff at the entrance are actually quite rude at and not very welcoming. Reception gets really busy, and there’s usually only one staff member there, at peak times you can find yourself with a wait, I must say they do the best they can and it’s not the staffs fault. The restaurant staff are absolutely lovely and will do anything they can to help you. In the room, the shower temperature fluctuates so much it’ll be a normal temperature and in a split second will be scalding hot and actually it’s quite unsafe! Breakfast is average, often it’s cold and there’s not a huge selection. There’s practically no amenities on site, a tiny fitness room, a tiny pool and bar. No sauna, no real gym, no steam room, I had a late flight and no where to relax so just spent my time in the restaurant. All in all a nice hotel in a great area but lacking in amenities and not as friendly as you’d expect.

This place will be our go to for future trips to Rio. Ipanema is right across the street from the hotel. We arrived early for check in so they kept our bags while we went to the beach and provided us with chairs/umbrella and towels until our hotel room was ready. The room was facing the beach so we had a view the whole time. Rooms are spacious and clean, Breakfast is amazing and was complimentary. On our way home we had a late flight out they helped us again by holding our bags while we walked around one last time and enjoyed the beach before heading to the airport. I recommend having the hotel book the airport transportation, it is not expensive and saves a lot of hassle when arriving.
