Super convenient for staying with kids and visiting all the Sun City has to offer. The pool was large, clean and had lots of seating. There is also a smaller baby/toddler pool, which was great. Breakfast was good with a lot of selection and well organised overall.The smallest rooms are pretty small but you aren't spending much time in them anyways. They are a bit dated now and need some small repairs here or there. But overall well worth the value. Free entry to Valley of the Waves and free shuttles around the property made things very convenient for our family of five to relax.

There are 4 hotels in Sun City. This hotel is regarded as the lowest budget one, however I have to say, we saw 3 of the 4 hotels, and I consider this one to have the nicest grounds. The pool is the largest of the hotels and the lake view is stunning. We very much enjoyed the exterior. It is a short distance to the main area of Sun City and the shuttle bus is very reliable. Breakfast was very sumptuous. To the negatives: We were given a room with a view of the lake which we appreciated but we found the rooms very dark. They don't have windows but sliding doors which lead to a covered walkway balcony so it was very dark. The rooms are modern and well-equipped but if I were to go back I would pay more to have a larger room. I think they may all be quite dark though. They do not supply bug spray which you very much need as you are near a lake. All in all I would stay again but I would not take the cheapest room.

The place is wonderful, the room was in front of the lake and it was modern. Big and beautiful pool, great breakfast and lot’s of activities at the resort. Valley of Waves was the best.

Had a great time, rooms were very clean and well appointed with adequate room. Breakfast was excellent as was Valley of the Waves. Had so much fun at the pools with the grandkids. The entertainment centre had very nice restaurants and the kids had so much fun in the games arcade.

The property is dated and unclean. We had cockroaches in the room and mould in the shower. The pillows on the bed need replacing as they were old lumpy pancakes. The pool was also dirty and music around the pool was too loud and not relaxing

Offhand staff, tired room needing maintenance, shower fluctuates from hot to cold. Canteen style breakfast, good choice of food but offhand staff and format let it down. Grounds around the hotel strewn with litter swept from the rooms, used soap, used coffee and sugar packets, cocktail sticks etc etc. Overall for the price per night, Poor.

Meu quarto alem de ser bem longe, as portas do banheiro de. Correr estavam quebradas, e não conseguia fechar o que era muito incômodo pois não tinha com isolar do quarto. As toalhas horríveis e o hotel também fica muito longe de tudo. Só as atividades da lagoa mas que também encerravam cedo. Atendimento péssimo da recepção, mal humorados atendentes. O café da manhã é bom, mas peguei um quarto pra 3 pessoas , e o sofá cama horrível, quando abria tomava o espaço do quarto todo. E também não dava pra ficar aberto então todo noite tinha que forrar.

Embora o Cabanas faça parte do Sun City Resort, é o Hotel mais basico e inferior, sendo um 3 estrelas. O quarto era satisfatório, mas pequeno. Tinha uma piscina e estando hospedado em qualquer dos Hotéis, dá acesso ao Valley of the Waves que é uma praia artificial com piscina de ondas. Pra 2 noites, eu achei ok, e não ficaria mais tempo que isso.

Embora o Cabanas faça parte do Sun City Resort, é o Hotel mais basico e inferior, sendo um 3 estrelas. O quarto era satisfatório, mas pequeno. Room very basic and new renovations. Bedding was terrible, mattress well worn and pillows were vile! We stayed in the twin room, would never stay in these rooms again. Facilities on the complex were fantastic, just a shame about the room

There was water coming from the Refrigerator. We requested our room to be cleaned no one came. Went back in person no one came even asked for a mop. Nothing happened and we ended up using bathroom towels to clean the floor which was attended the next day after l called cleaners who we’re cleaning other rooms

Overall the stay was very relaxing but there was a problem with check in that really wasnt resolved. It was great to walk arouls and the shuttle was very convenient. Its a shame they dont stay open later at night fors around the pool area.

I would like the staff members to be more efficient, the shower light was not working and when we called for help we were told that someone was coming to fix it. No one showed up even after multiple calls. WE SHOWERED IN THE DARK FOR THREE WHOLE DAYS!

Room had everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable, and it would have been helpful to have the kids sleeping explained to us. The staff and service was exceptional with a great breakfast option with something for each of us. As a recommendation it would be helpful to have a drying area for wet swimwear. We would definitely book and stay again.

Great room and value for the stay. Loved the sound of birds in the morning and evening. This property is part of the Sun City resort area, aka it’s all safe and walkable. Breakfast buffet was top notch, too.

Good and afordable place stay at Sun City. Rooms need smaller maintenance. Service is excellent as is Breakfast. Porter service recommended; steep walkpaths. Poolbar is perfect

Good and afordable place stay at Sun City. Rooms need smaller maintenance. Service is excellent as is Breakfast. Porter service recommended; steep walkpaths. Poolbar is perfect

Meu quarto alem de ser bem longe, as portas do banheiro de. Correr estavam quebradas, e não conseguia fechar o que era muito incômodo pois não tinha com isolar do quarto. As toalhas horríveis e o hotel também fica muito longe de tudo. Só as atividades da lagoa mas que também encerravam cedo. Atendimento péssimo da recepção, mal humorados atendentes. O café da manhã é bom, mas peguei um quarto pra 3 pessoas , e o sofá cama horrível, quando abria tomava o espaço do quarto todo. E também não dava pra ficar aberto então todo noite tinha que forrar.

There are 4 hotels in Sun City. This hotel is regarded as the lowest budget one, however I have to say, we saw 3 of the 4 hotels, and I consider this one to have the nicest grounds. The pool is the largest of the hotels and the lake view is stunning. We very much enjoyed the exterior. It is a short distance to the main area of Sun City and the shuttle bus is very reliable. Breakfast was very sumptuous. To the negatives: We were given a room with a view of the lake which we appreciated but we found the rooms very dark. They don't have windows but sliding doors which lead to a covered walkway balcony so it was very dark. The rooms are modern and well-equipped but if I were to go back I would pay more to have a larger room. I think they may all be quite dark though. They do not supply bug spray which you very much need as you are near a lake. All in all I would stay again but I would not take the cheapest room.

Nice spot with convenient amenities and restaurants. Don't buy tickets to walk with the Lions, they're drugged not trained. There are so many reasonable safari drives available from the welcome centre across the road.

Check-in staff very friendly, I like the bussing idea, smaller buses for night life could be nicer, information desk were amazing with reservations to other restaurants, the breakfast was great and we'll organized. The rooms were tidy but bathrooms could be better cleaned. The cleaning staff could also be less noisy in the corridors. Overall a great stay, they were highly organized and prepared for the hectic festive season.

The hotel is perfectly situated not far from the Sun City entrance - gps takes you right to the front of the hotel. Front desk agents were quick and very helpful in explaining the hotel, and the individuals at the 'Information Desk' had an abundant amount of knowledge on where to go and what to do. The hotel has an apartment feeling as each section is only 2 floors instead of many - such as a hotel - which made it more intimate. The rooms are tiny though and there are no bath tubs, just showers - considering the price we surely didn't complain. Breakfast is pretty standard, nothing that pounces at you with surprise but the location of the hotel (right next to a lake) is a superb view early in the morning with birds walking around. Be very careful of the monkeys though as they will easily slip into your room and steal food. If you are comfortable with walking, you are very close to almost everything you would like to visit. I would highly recommend this hotel if you're an individual/s traveling on a budget.

Great room and value for the stay. Loved the sound of birds in the morning and evening. This property is part of the Sun City resort area, aka it’s all safe and walkable. Breakfast buffet was top notch, too.

We had a couple of small hiccups but Bonny Monyatsi more than took the trouble to make amends. Which was excellent customer service. Best we have received anywhere. A credit too the hotel. Rooms on the smaller side. Good breakfast with plenty of variety and large pool with lots of sunbeds.

Offhand staff, tired room needing maintenance, shower fluctuates from hot to cold. Canteen style breakfast, good choice of food but offhand staff and format let it down. Grounds around the hotel strewn with litter swept from the rooms, used soap, used coffee and sugar packets, cocktail sticks etc etc. Overall for the price per night, Poor.

Établissement très propre, calme et petit déjeuner très bon ! Gros plus, le lac juste en bas très beau le matin et le soir et la vallée des vagues à 10 min à pied.

Very huge hotel, check in and check out a bit complicated…. Breakfast is overcrowded. Concierge doesn’t seems to know much about the activities out of the hotel, no room service. House keeping staff very nice, park is huge and beautiful

The Cabanas hotel is great for families or if you want to stay at Sun City on a budget. The rooms have great showers and being in the ground floor you e got use of sunbeds. Out look fantastic in block 23, must say rooms spotless, staff great but it’s in need of a bit of TLC. The breakfast buffet plentiful but weekends are busy and can be noisy. The walks, the amenities and swimming pools fab, so much to do and see. Crazy golf and water world all extra. Lost city and wave world awesome. Evening walk around the golf course stunning specially with the visiting animals. One thing though if you want to do a safari send an enquiry don’t wait till you’re there. Also be aware if you arrange a taxi you’re best to ask the hotel to let the front gate know otherwise outside companies find it difficult to gain entrance. We’ve had a great few days sad to leave but would have preferred more of a hotel style holiday than the apartment style. We had a lovely meal at the Gary player clubhouse recommend trying the hole-in-one cocktail Sun City a fabulous location, great for all ages. So much to do and enjoy for all ages with a range of accommodation. Its approximately 2.45 hours drive from Johannesburg airport
