DORMERO Hotel Zürich Airport

The elevator broke down on the morning we were checking out and we carried 5 pieces of large luggage down from the 5th floor… further no coffee anywhere unless you buy the 24 Swiss franc breakfast … about 45CAD PER PERSON…

My wife and I were looking for an affordable choice to spend our night prior to our next morning flight from Zurich airport. This hotel is very near the metro and also within 10 min driving to the airport so we decided to stay there overnight Check in was easy and staff super friendly, room is fairly well equipped but we hate the ambiance, although we guess most of guests don’t go there particularly for sleep so ambiance might be very playful. The gym is horribly small and I couldn’t workout properly, machines are very limited or nonexistent, treadmill was broken, that’s something they should take care off. Planes passing by are minimally noticeable due to thick glass. Overall good experience, I would stay there again if I had the chance but not longer than 2 nights

The hotel is close to the airport. Take bus 768 from the airport and few stops away. The staff who checked me in was very nice and accommodating. Hotel provides free drinks in the fridge. Hotel also provides hot water and drinking water downstairs. You can heat your food in the microwave provided at the ground floor. There are many shops and restaurants around the hotel. The train to Zürich city centre is just few minutes walk. Opfikon train station line S7 can get you to the city centre. I recommend this hotel to my family and friends if they decided to visit Zürich. I’ll stay at this hotel the next time I visit.

This hotel claim to be for Airport. But it lucks the convinient transportation for the Airport. The only way to get to/from is a city bus, but it is not running at night. And UBER is not allowed to pick up near hotel. Finally we got the front desk to get a taxi for us (there was nobody there for a long time), but taxi costs 30 euro for 4 minutes ride!

Great hotel with friendly staff and a perfect location. Our room was on the top floor with a stunning view, which we really enjoyed. It was also a nice touch to see a welcome message from the GM on the TV. That said, the room felt a bit worn and could use some maintenance. There’s paid parking at the hotel, but it’s a bit pricey. Thankfully, there are other paid parking options just a short walk away. Overall, a solid choice for a short and budget-friendly stay.

Check in was quick and easy. Room was spacious and clean. TV was not working but we got free chocolate in exchange 😀. Mini fridge had 5 free beverages in it for us to take. We did not use the gym nor selected the breakfast, so we cant comment on that. The only small complaint is that the window was opened when we arrived in the room and the heat took forever to kick in.

The Hotel and the service at the hotel were amazing! The check-in was outstanding they helped, very fast and serviceable and with a smile. With bathtub, the TV channels were fine (not enough channels in English from my point of view) But take into account that they don't have any free shuttles from/to the airport, it can cost 17-25 euro each way.

Stayed a few nights while travelling and had a good experience here. Overall really clean hotel, beautiful room’s, and comfortable beds. The room had a mini fridge which was a bonus that allowed us to stock a few things and had a nice bathroom. Had no major issues other then it can be noisy if you leave the window open due to planes flying by and there isn’t much around for food. We wanted to purchase a few things from the grocery store 10 minutes down the road and asked before hand if there was a microwave, but was told there was nothing on the property so that was disappointing and didn’t leave much options. They have breakfast in the morning but didn’t try it due to allergies. The sauna was broken so we were not able to use it which was to bad and the front desk hours are kinda annoying for if you ever just wanna ask questions or get help as nobody was there until 1pm. There is a bus stop out front and a 10 minute walk to the tram station so was easy to get into the main town. Would recommend if you need a simple place to stay.

Very interesting also the availability of a gym and of sauna

This hotel was the dirtiest hotel I have ever stayed in. There was hair on the counter, sticky floors and lots of dust that had been there for months. I did take pictures. This hotel was disgusting. I really find it hard to believe that our room was cleaned before we checked in. If you didn't get in before 11 pm, you had to walk around the back which was not lit ( I did trip) Very unsafe! Never would I stay at this hotel again! The staff was never helpful!

It was very clean room and the bed was amazingly good close to airport and I would definitely recommend everyone to come to this hotel hotel. We loved it.

we had to change rooms because the shower was broken and the counters were dirty. next room not much better, when we got up in the morning saw the sheets were stained under the pillows.

Our room was so dirty. The bedding had stains. The floor didn't look like it had been swept in weeks and never mopped with the grossest marks on the floor. The tub was gross with hair clogging the tub drain. Really not a pleasant experience.

Clean room and the staff was really nice

The proximity to Zurich airport is excellent. 5 min bus ride. That's really the only good thing. The most uncomfortable mattress I've ever tried. Its very old, major dent in centre from over use. I couldn't sleep nor rest. Hell of a night. Back pain after this experience The bathtub has mold in it and the shower head holder was broken. Should be 1 star at Max. Never again

Der Checkin ging schnell, das Zimmer war groß und die Getränke in der Minbar inklusive. Allerdings war es nicht besonders sauber, Haare auf der Matratze, die Minibar roch komisch und es liefen Silberfische auf dem Boden. Mir war die Matratze zu weich.

If all you need is sleep and something relatively close to the airport this is ok. It's in a residential area so it's quiet. But the tradeoff is nothing to do or eat. Breakfast is 24 francs and there's no other coffee options in the area except Shell so 5-7 francs which is 10 CDN is insane for a tiny espresso. My sink drain and shower hose leaked alot, there's mould on the tub, and I thought the heavy glass bathroom door was going to fall off its hinges. There's no way to control the temperature and it was 23-24 which made for a hot sleep. That being said it has comfy bed and decent tv if you need. And they give you a free water, beer, and apple juice in the mini bar.

The bed was incredibly comfortable, and I had a great night's sleep. The bathroom was also spacious and well-equipped

Excellent location near the airport. Really good option as the the city center is only about 3 stops on the train. Bus stop to the airport and the the train station to city center are close to the hotel. Really huge TV! Comfy bed. Chair was a little worn out. Lovely to get free drinks from the fridge. Bathroom was very clean. Pillows were too high but linen was crisp.

Bushaltestelle direkt vor der Haustüre. Klimaanlage nicht in Betrieb - es steht ein Ventilator im Zimmer. Bei offenem Fenster gibt es bereits früh am Morgen die Flugzeuge relativ nieder und damit bestens „hörbar“. Trotzdem ok. Auch Preis-Leistungsverhältnis passt. Aber gibt dafür eben kein „gut“ oder „hervorragend“.

rooms are spacious and clean, its located in a convenient area close to the airport and public transportation. the rooms doesn't have nice view to the city or the horizon

I booked a deluxe room with double bed but was given a smaller size room with two single beds. Explanation given: " we reserve the double bed rooms for couples". Very Strange. When I complained, I was quickly given the room category I had booked. The deluxe room was very spacious, bright, with black out curtains. The seperate foyer had a good size wardrobe. When I tried to close the door from the foyer to the bedroom, the whole door knob came apart in my hands. The bedroom had a huge flat screen tv and a very comfortable mattress. I liked that the bed head board and the tv frame had color LED mood lightening. Very cool. With windows closed, the occassional plane noise was muffled. Important: There is no air conditioning! There was a standing fan which cooled a little. The room temperature was 27degrees C. (about 80 degres F) and only cooled off to 26 C over night. The heat wave had ended a couple of days earlier. During the heat wave, this would have been an uncomfortably hot room. There was a gym with some essential equipment and a sauna. The lobby area had a large enclosure with two rabbits in it. Nice for kids. The decor looked like a hyper modern/Ikea mix. Mostly functional, mostly white with red. The modern style bathroom was lit only by dim LED lightening around a large mirror. Totally inadequate for putting on make up or shaving. Despite some glitches, I enjoyed staying there. Would book again, avoid hot Summers. Value was excellent.

It was really good & comfortable stay. Room size is big with a big screen. They also provides free drinks in room's fridge.

Lovely hotel, clean and generous size rooms Bed was massive! Loved seeing the rabbits. Nice touch for the free drinks in the fridge but could have done with a bottle opener!

Room need hvac for summer

A brief stay after flying into Zurich and then getting the train to Basel the next day for Women's Euros. The location is good with an easy bus ride to/from airport and reasonable price given the location. Condition of the room was good, liked the door between the room and the landing area and bathroom as it helped keep noise from corridor and more privacy for bathroom. Liked the free drinks in the fridge - but fridge was not on which was a bit weird. Had booked a twin room but was a double room when we got there so had to go back to reception - this was sorted quickly. Biggest issue was room was far too hot and being by the airport, having window open was noisy from early. No air con - not somewhere to stay for long time as sleep wasn't great with this combo. There was a fan but didn't help much. Decent amount of plugs provided. Didn't have breakfast. Be aware of what time you are arriving and inform the hotel to ensure reception is still open you don't lose booking. Think I would use again if needed but maybe not in summer.

Check-in ends at 11pm. They ask to inform in advance about late arrivals, which I did a few weeks before the stay. In response, rep#1 asked me to contact them on the day of arrival. Which I did in the morning of that day and then I spent 7 hrs on a plane. When I arrived at 10 pm to Zurich, I saw an email from rep#2 asking me for a copy of passport, Credit card number and a phone number where to send a video about entering the hotel after hours. They could have done this after my first email, not at 10 pm when I just landed and had a lot of things to do. Anyway, I never received the video etc. When I called that rep#2 using the phone number shown in her email, her first question was: how did u get this number, never call here unless this is an emergency. The long story short, we got there by 11:05 pm. The front door was already closed. My wife managed to find the back door and someone was still at the reception and checked us in. When I asked her: if we came 20 min later would we be in a big trouble? She said, of course you would. You were supposed to contact us in advance. I did not tell her about my earlier conversation with the rep#1 because it seemed useless.

Great place to stay with friendly staff

Worst customer service, No room service, no working phone in room. No basic service like dental kits , shaving kits .electric kettle etc. its not provided even after request. No front desk in Morning. Night duty staff was not polite..didn’t have basic customer service attitude..horrible experience.. not recommend anyone to book this hotel

The hotel is far away from Zürich city center, but has two S-bahn stations nearby. There is a cannabis shop next door, with the accompanying folk hanging around at night. Didn't feel safe. No front desk employee present after 23:00 either. Overall staff friendliness can be described as low. Hardly a goodmorning, no contact at all. Were more busy doing their own business. I found it rude, and will not come back to this place.

Third world service and disappointing stay overall. Didn’t expect it from Switzerland. It was shocking. There is NO RECEPTIONIST UNTIL 1pm. After visiting 67 countries, after staying in many different hotels, from five stars to no stars, I never saw a hotel, airport hotel actually (!) or any other establishment which wouldn’t have someone at the reception until 1pm. Special requests weren’t accommodated. Non of them. No tea cups or kettle in the room. When asked receptionist to provide one, was given it with the attitude as if I asked to borrow her credit card. My room was on the first floor and it was practically impossible to open the window because staff would constantly take smoking breaks under the window and smell would go in the room and they smoke a lot… and often… let alone the fact that listening their conversations was disturbing. Totally inappropriate cleaning crew opening the door to my room around 8 and 9 am after barely knocking and not allowing to even respond that housekeeping is not needed It seems that hotel is located exactly on a flight path so you will hear all planes taking off… On arrival staff robotically informs you that “check in is at 3pm” before even checking if room is actually available. I was able to check in at 1:20pm. Receptionist came at 1pm and check in was completed around 1:20pm. Could never imagine it can take that long to check in I would never stay in this hotel again or any hotel from this chain. Rude, zero customer servi

Used for catching up on sleep after taking a red eye flight. Hotel was fine for that. The only problem is there is no one at the desk until 2 pm making an early check in impossible. Also the pillows at this hotel were not very comfortable.

I like to express my sincere thanks to Nils and Bhramha. They both were very helpful in all respect. The breakfast was GREAT, plenty; and the coffee machine was an additional bonus. The breakfast environment was very cordial. What I missed was the aircondition. The airport was very close. Nils and Bramha gave me directions how to reach the airport using public transportation and it cost me 4.50 CHF.

Enjoyed the stay, clean, right next to buses and about 400m away from the train, supermarkets close by and easy to get into Zürich and the airport. Staff all really nice and quick check in and out. Would definitely stay again.

Staff stayed late to check us in after delayed flight. Room comfortable

Rude staff, dirty rooms, stained matressess stained topper , hairs all inbed photos dont lie! stay away.advirtises air con there was air con it didnt work, so sed use the fan, breakfast £22 stone cold, live rabbits in cages next to were you eat breakfast. Very expensive to stay there and rejected a partial refund.

Close to the airport and easy to go to the city centre Fortunately, I stayed with them in autumn so it was fine to sleep without air conditioner at night.

Easy bus ride to and from the airport. Quick 5 minute walk to train station just up the street. It takes about a 15 train ride to central Zurich. Safe area with grocery stores and restaurants.

The place was not bad, but its area is unsafe and too far from Zurich. We only stayed since it was our last day and wanted to stay close to airport, but if you are planning to stay for the travel, I don't recommend it. Stay closer to central Zurcih area. It's a lot safer and less commuting.

Hotel is conveniently located about 2 or three blocks from train station, which you can travel to Rhine Falls, or into the City Center, Zurich. Room A/C was not that great, however, a fan was provided. Hotel has an elevator. Everything seems more expensive in Switzerland. Breakfast at the hotel was 24 Euros, we opted to get some fresh fruit from a local market. We did not have a car, therefore, we traveled by bus from the airport to the train station near hotel when we arrived, and took a Tram when we departed to the airport from the train station.

Grosses Zimmer mit drei Sesseln, aber ohne Tischchen … Reichhaltiges Frühstücksbuffet. Kein checkout, Finanzen werden am Vorabend erledigt. So einfach bei Abreise keycard einwerfen. Zimmer steht bis 12.00 zur Verfügung! Minibar mit 1 Bier, Mineralwasser und verschiedenen Softdrinks am ersten Abend kostenlos!

The property is right below the Zurich airport flight path. Planes coming in to land every 5 mins feels like an earthquake. The breakfast is their biggest scam. $25 per person. It was unclean, horrifying service and terrible food.

The staff were impolite and lacked even basic courtesy, such as greeting guests properly. The hotel was mostly occupied by large charter tour groups, making the breakfast area extremely crowded. Many breakfast items were often empty and not refilled promptly. It was also quite noisy due to the presence of these tour groups, which negatively impacted the overall experience.

La stanza era molto ampia, luminosa, dotata di un ingresso con armadio, ampio LCD, bagno. Colazione internazionale varia e molto buona. Disponibilità di giornali,ecc.; posto auto in garage, bar ed altri servizi. Consigliatissimo.

Excelente! Infelizmente nosso voo foi cancelado e acabamos perdendo a primeira diária, mas eles foram tão gentis que disponibilizaram café da manhã no dia seguinte. Além disso, mesmo após o check out eles permitiram que a gente deixasse as malas no hotel para poder passear um pouco pela cidade antes de voltar para o aeroporto. O bar free no quarto também foi algo muito legal da parte deles. Uma pena que ficamos tão pouco lá ❤️

Clean room, nice vibe to the lobby, but not very convenient and no real service from the staff to mention. TV was broken, the front desk literally never answered the phone. No front desk staff until 1300 and the breakfast is way too expensive and not very good. Parking, which I opted out of, is 36 bucks per night… Decent price for the room, but you get what you pay for, which in this case isn’t much.

One of the lamp didn’t work and shower was broken. Nice design and quiet. Very good breakfast
