Georgetown Lodge

There were issues attempting to use the hot tub area, we couldn't figure out how to get in the tub house area and we only had a half hour before it was off limits so it wasn't worth wasting time trying to ask for assistance from the staff in a separate building, so we just didn't use it. The beds weren't super comfy so we didn't sleep well, however the staff was very kind and and insightful about best places to go & cost effective things to do in the area, breakfast was also great!

Room was very clean, the extractor in the bathroom is too noisy, too old i guess Couldn’t sleep since there were people outside or upstairs laughing and talking, i guess partying, it was 5 am when they kept going so i decided to leave

Stayed at this lodge one night. It’s fine. Not dirty but not clean. Hotel room had no soap. I’ve never not had soap or shampoo or anything in a hotel room before. We literally had to go buy soap just so we could wash our hands after using the bathroom. Kinda gross. If they aren’t providing soap, how seriously do they take cleaning? Nevertheless, it was “acceptable”. The major problem was a couple of days later. We came back through the area after climbing two 14ers and we just wanted to shower. We decided to stay here again since there isn’t much else around (and we already had our soap from the previous stay). I booked the hotel at 11am and then called to request an earlier check in (as it says to do on their page). No answer. I called for 10 minutes. No answer. Odd, because their page says their lobby is manned and open from 7am to 10pm and to call with any questions. I went inside to speak to someone and no one was around. I rang the bell, called over and over and even walked around shouting. Meanwhile, the front door had a paper sign saying “no vacancies”. But I just booked a room? How can they have no vacancies? I called Hotels.com but they can’t refund the room without the hotel’s permission. So now it is a week later and they still don’t answer the phone, haven’t replied to my email or Hotels.com’s email and I am fighting with AMEX over the $150 charge. Save your money. Don’t buy your own soap. Stay elsewhere!! This is a glorified and expensive Motel 6.

Carrie did a great job getting us checked in, even with a problem with the locks on the room we had reserved. She got us into something else and was very good to us. She knows her stuff! This is the place to stay if you don't want a middle of the road chain hotel. Loads of atmosphere and vibe.
