Rooms are old . Bed was very comfortable. Room was clean. Parking not so good. If ur lucky u get a parking spot on the street. DC is not big vehicle friendly. Had rough time finding a place to park my full size SUV.

This is a lovely, small boutique hotel. My room was small but sparkling clean as was the bathroom. An iron and ironing board, hair dryer and the usual small bottles of soap and shampoo were in the room. And, great internet access. The hotel is located in a lovely residential area where I easily found safe, street parking for the weekend. The hotel keeps the front desk open 24/7 and in the morning hot coffee is available. I don’t consider this a con but this is not a hotel if you are planning to spend a lot of time in your room. It’s definitely for those who want a quiet place to sleep and to get dressed and out in the morning…

If you are looking for a clean bed and don’t care about basic amenities, this place will do. Good neighborhood with close public transportation. There are no basic amenities. The rooms haven’t been updated in decades. The phone in the room to front desk wasn’t even connected. The water is either ice cold or scalding hot. No spot on shower to even set soap or shampoo (and bring your own of both). The hair dryer didn’t work. There is no fridge in room. The a/c worked sometimes. You have to walk a couple blocks to purchase water or snacks. No ice machine. The steps are a lot if you are on 4th floor. The plus: staff were nice. The bed & linens were clean. Easy walking to shops/restaurants. Right on S2 bus line.

This hotel was okay. The area was very pretty and residential but a quick walk to coffee.shops. The first let down was NO ELEVATOR. Be prepared to bring your own drinks and food. Nice little garden area in the front entrance.

Had an easy, affordable stay. Very convenient location to walk to many restaurants in the area plus I love the architecture of the surrounding neighborhood. There is not an elevator so make note of that when booking/packing. Only qualm was that the ice machine broke.

Great location, used SpotHero to fond parking less than a block away. Quaint, charming place. Old (because it is) with small rooms. Nice bathroom, comfortable bed. I found it a bit noisy at night (slamming doors).

This hotel did the job and had a bit of charm. The only complaint we had is that the vending machine was down so we had to walk a good way to get some food after long flight and getting in late.

Great spot, safe and walkable, lots of dining options, YMCA close by. A very clean bedroom and bathroom. Sparkling white sheets and towels. Coffee and tea in the lobby complimentary 24/7. Staff is excellent. An old building which could use a lot of TLC but everything works great. Just for spending a night or a few while enjoying the city, a very affordable option. Thank you for your hospitality.

Cold the first night it took hours to get the room kinda warm. I had to leave the heater (window insert) cranked to max, so room would be sorta warm when I returned at days end. Shower--YIKES. Mildew with fur on it!!!! Better than a tent, sorta

Hotel is very old, carpet was smelly, shower was unclean and mildew, missing tiles in the shower can cut your feet, sink falling apart. No elevator, no water at all for customers, not even to purchase. Terrible experience. I will never stay here again.

Absolutely awful stay. The room barely had any windows, making it dark and depressing. On top of that, it felt dirty and the air quality seemed poor. The bed was filthy as well. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.

Room had an extremely strong smell of chemicals upon check in, but didn’t seem like it had been that thoroughly cleaned (dust on carpet, spiderwebs, dirty walls, dirty looking bathroom). After the first night, the chemical smell was replaced by a mildew and wet carpet smell, and it was clear that the hotel has no humidity control. It was extremely moist and uncomfortable, and the smell permeated my luggage after only a 2 night stay. Beds were extremely uncomfortable. Staff was polite, and the location was fine, but I would not stay again.

Hotel is very old, room was large enough. Room was very hot, heated by an old radiator, we ran the window A/c to make it comfortable. Even though the hotel is old the room and lobby were clean. Bathroom was clean and no issues. Hotel located in nice area of town, felt safe walking around area. We stayed on a weekend and parking was fine, during the week parking would be limited.

My room didn’t have a good condition. Conditioner worked very noisy, isolation between the rooms is a very bad, I heard the sound of working TV from next door room like it was my room TV. Blinds was broken and I couldn’t to open them. Bathroom didn’t have any hook to hang up my robe. But my friend’s room had much better condition for the same price!

The Windsor Inn was a throwback to an earlier age with great working AC, and though the room was small, it did provide everything I needed for one person on a business trip. It was not fancy but very serviceable and very right on the price for DC.

Mixed bag. It's a great location in NW within walking distance to loads of things. Safe neighborhood. But rooms are badly in need of updating. And that's probably an understatement. Old creaky bed with flat pillows. Marks and chipped paint on walls. Wall mounted AC unit doesn't work very well. Old and dilipated furniture. Shag carpet. An ok place if you are crashing a night or two but not very comfortable and you will want to get out of your room quickly.

The room had two lights out as just burnt out lights. The shower had a broken handle so it was hard to keep the watertemperature consistent. There are manual keys to the doors where the doors also have a key card that just doesn't work. The staff who were cleaning were so loud they'd wake us every morning by 8 a.m. don't think we'd do this again unless we were in college... There was a communal mini fridge and microwave on the first floor. The hotel staff was asleep sitting at the desk. Very convenient location.

This was the first time we stayed in DC overnight. We chose to stay here because it was convenient to the event we were attending. The room and bathroom were clean. Room was small, almost prison cell-like. Bed was comfortable enough, with clean sheets, but seemed smaller than a double bed. AC worked well. Not enough clear, flat spaces to put things down. Free WIFI was spotty, mostly awful. TV reception was so poor, I turned it off. Would have been nice to have 2 washcloths in bathroom, instead of one. No hooks to hang a robe or towels near the shower. And a shelf or caddy in the shower to place our soap, shampoo, etc would have also been nice. I mean, www.simplehuman, Windsor Hotel! Coffee in the lobby was very generic, but lack of cream or half-n-half is regrettable. The one ice machine in the building was not working. If you've driven a car to the Windsor, consider adding $37 to $50 to your budget for nearby garage parking. We took a chance and parked on a side street nearby, but it was a Saturday, so enforcement was probably lax. You may not be as lucky during the week, and/or for a multi-night stay.

The room smelled like the inside of a NYC taxi (putid air freshener), the decor the decor is "early suburban thrift shop cast-offs", no bottled water available or for sale, ice machine not working. Partying revelers in the hallway at 3:30 in the morning. Registered for a 3 nights stay; checked out after 4.5 hours after asthma attack from the air freshener; physical safety was also questionable. Their response: "We don't do refunds."

check-in was uncomplicated and room was one set of stairs up. Our room was clean and looked out over the tree lined street. Yes, there was some noise - this is the city -, but it died down at night, sufficiently to get a good night's sleep. Many dining options within walking distance, we could enjoy the urban atmosphere around. Everything felt safe. The only problem was the check-out in the morning. There was a queue, and the clerk had no care in the world and no interest to check any of us out. He was busy casually chatting on his phone, pretending we just did not exist. We had to protest a few times, before he was willing to put his phone down and reluctantly accommodate us. Luckily we had enough reserve planned in, but this was not ok.

I will not be returning to this hotel/inn. I felt like an inconvenience to them for asking questions about my stay. They did not ask me anything about my stay or needing anything. The hotel cleaning staff rummaged through my personal belongings. Overall, a poor experience that I could have spent the $$ on somewhere else. You all are in the hotel industry...act like it.

We enjoyed our stay at Windsor Inn. The property is an older property, but everything is well maintained. There was no excess noise and was a short walk to the train station and lots of dining options 2 blocks away on 14th st. Would definitely stay again.

Nice hotel reasonably close to nightlife & DC tourist areas. We were only there for one night to see a concert. Easy walk to 9:30 Club or Black Cat (& Atlantis opening soon). Within walking distance from the train station (45-60 min depending on pace). And a relatively short walk the the White House area. Hotel was clean & well kept. No issues. Outdoor patio, and some indoor seating areas too.

I enjoyed the vintage feel of the hotel, and the staff was very friendly. Great neighborhood too. Downsides are that it's not too close to the metro and there's not many options for parking long-term nearby.

A quiet safe place to sleep, adorable neighborhood directly around, tiny bit of sketch walking down U street (from U street station). Big bathtub/shower size. Trader Joe's 2 blocks away for drinks and premade wraps, salads, water, kombucha. The S2 bus right outside will take you straight downtown to all the sights for $2! Ubers/lyfts get super pricey 4-6pm rush hours $30 for just 2 miles. Effective space heater, window unit AC, clean for an old not updated hotel. The bathroom looked like it had some new tile and fixtures. Lots of dings, scratches, stains and flaws in the old building, not glamorous, but has some interesting old fixtures and history throughout. It's a decent place to stay for a budget overnight. Bed was ok, towels good, no breakfast bar, just coffee, tea, microwave, there was a small fridge in the lobby but not sure if it was for guest use. The staff was super helpful and friendly. Checked our bags in with the front desk at 11am and picked them up safely at 5pm. Overall good stay and I would stay again for the low price, close to everything!

This is a lovely, small boutique hotel. My room was small but sparkling clean as was the bathroom. An iron and ironing board, hair dryer and the usual small bottles of soap and shampoo were in the room. And, great internet access. The hotel is located in a lovely residential area where I easily found safe, street parking for the weekend. The hotel keeps the front desk open 24/7 and in the morning hot coffee is available. I don’t consider this a con but this is not a hotel if you are planning to spend a lot of time in your room. It’s definitely for those who want a quiet place to sleep and to get dressed and out in the morning…

This hotel was okay. The area was very pretty and residential but a quick walk to coffee.shops. The first let down was NO ELEVATOR. Be prepared to bring your own drinks and food. I can understand not having a restaurant, but this place didn’t even have a vending machine. The room was clean but quite run down. A mosh mash of old furniture and no fridge. Nice little garden area in the front entrance.

This was the first time we stayed in DC overnight. We chose to stay here because it was convenient to the event we were attending. The room and bathroom were clean. Room was small, almost prison cell-like. Bed was comfortable enough, with clean sheets, but seemed smaller than a double bed. AC worked well. Not enough clear, flat spaces to put things down. Free WIFI was spotty, mostly awful. TV reception was so poor, I turned it off. Would have been nice to have 2 washcloths in bathroom, instead of one. No hooks to hang a robe or towels near the shower. And a shelf or caddy in the shower to place our soap, shampoo, etc would have also been nice. I mean, www.simplehuman, Windsor Hotel! Coffee in the lobby was very generic, but lack of cream or half-n-half is regrettable. The one ice machine in the building was not working. If you've driven a car to the Windsor, consider adding $37 to $50 to your budget for nearby garage parking. We took a chance and parked on a side street nearby, but it was a Saturday, so enforcement was probably lax. You may not be as lucky during the week, and/or for a multi-night stay.

My room was in the “basement”: you go downstairs, then outside in a dank alleyway, and the door to the room is directly off the alley. The alley had artificial lights at night that shine brightly into the room. You cannot block them out because the glass door and one window only had plastic horizontal blinds, no curtains. During the day because the alley was covered there was no natural light. The room was very dingy, beat up and unpleasant. it was carpeted with a stained carpet. The worst part of the experience was, I had initially booked two nights and then needed to add a third night. There was no way to do this other than to create a new reservation. I was told after my second night I would have to check out of my room and check back in for my third night. Although initially irritating, I was relieved since my room was so bad and my new reservation was for a different room with a queen bed. When I checked in on my last night, I was put in the same room. The hotel has not offered me no compensation. Additionally, no one was ever at the front desk. I waited for 20 minutes both times to check in.

Well polished property, friendly staff and clean rooms and nice outdoor patio at the front of the hotel and assorted tea and coffee in a quaint Lobby Will definetly return for another longer stay
