Super 8 by Wyndham Portsmouth - Norfolk

Did not have a breakfast even though it was advertised as offering it. Sink was partially clogged, shower water pressure was very low. Towels needed to be replaced. Fortunately, I was just needing a place to sleep for two nights. Otherwise, those would have been major issues for me.

Terrible!!! Just terrible, A/C barely worked, no one was ever at the front desk. It took us 30 mins to check in cause nobody was there. The pool was not open. Couldn’t even get clean towels.

Before I got there the money had came out of account before I even checked in then asking for $50 deposit upfront too which I wasn’t expecting then the pool is closed and it was noisy it was really run down just wish I could get my money back cause it wasn’t worth over $100 a night

Staff was very nice, rooms were clean, pool was great, id stay there again

I unfortunately had to wait to check in almost two hours after the posted check in time. The headboard was dirty and the hotel (I ordered non-smoking) reeked of cigarettes. The pool was not open which was a surprise, and the TV was broken and didn't have a remote.

This property is minimal service. No soap or shampoo in the rooms. TV did not work, wifi password did not work.

In the site it's mentioned continental breakfast is included but there was no breakfast at all and the bed sheets were not clean, bathroom lock was not working

The staff was ok. The pool wasn’t opened and they didn’t have an any type of breakfast. The sad part is the site said it had all those things but it lied. It was hard to get any extra towels. The room smelled like smoke and it was supposed to be a nonsmoking room. The gentleman gave me some spray for the room but it was still a little hard to get it out.

Friendly, helpful staff. Clean room, could have had more amenities (blow-dryer, iron). Not sure if a lot of working people stay there but several times horns were blowing as early as before 7 am and other room doors opening and closing waking us up.

It wasn’t very clean. The sheets and towels were clean, but stained. The check in was easy.

There was a $25.00 refundable deposit demanded upon checking in to the hotel. There was additionally a $3.00 non-refundable service fee attached to the check-in process. Neither of these additional fees was mentioned or annotated upon my Hotels.com prepay for this booking. The room was filthy. The bedding was dirty. The towels and wash cloths were dirty. The shower curtain was filthy. The water was lukewarm initially, but rapidly turned cold. The furniture and fixtures were delapidated, old and broken. I was supremely uncomfortable during my stay.

4 days without any days of housekeeping, We slept on the same sheets with a lot of holey and dirty sheets ,smells like cigarette, dirty floors, tv,shower room

Very disappointing the place is very disgusting and dirty it look like the room was slept in for a week and never get cleaned. The top layer sheet looks clean but if you peel the layers back then you will vomit . The manager said it was a non smoking room and man I tell you he was a damn lier

The property was so dirty I told my son to sleep with his dirty clothes on as they would be cleaner, the only reason that we did not leave was due to availability and timing. There was a dirty rag in the bathroom. We did not shower. Preferred not to. The room smelled of cigarette smoke and the furniture was broken. Good thing it was just a pit stop for our vacation. I did complain to the customer service who did nothing to improve our situation.

Dirty room no towels wash cloths in the room mold in the tub there were roaches crawling from wall to wall and the staff the guy at the front desk he said his name is Light. He is the rudest when I reported theses problems to him he got upset denied everything and told me and my kids to leave just yelling at us we are homeless and had our our belongings with us 3 suitcases and other things we had to pack up and he was rushing us expecting us to be done packing in minutes which was impossible. He got mad because we were still packing called the police on us and completely lied said we weren’t trying to leave when he clearly seen us packing up while he stood in the middle of the door kept saying hurry up. He scared my kids and all. I talked to the officer and explained to the officer what happened the officer then said to me that he’s always getting calls from that hotel because people are always having problems out of that man. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone please go elsewhere

The room was unsanitary. Blood on sheets & other body fluids. The bathroom were not clean, the shower curtain had mold on it. The towels were dirty (I bath my daughter & I with my hands ) !

Dirty rooms, no cable tv, no washcloths. Stopped up sink. Yellow and brown tub. Was by myself but I would never allow my family to stay here. Just awful, if I could rate a 0 I would.

Requested a non smoking room and room we got smelled just like cigarette smoke We were awoken by loud screaming at 5:30 am and it continued until 7 am

The room was ok. There was only 1 outlet in the bedroom and it was on the floor. The shower didnt get hot, warm but not hot. The tv didnt work and there were cigarette burns in the blankets. It was sketchy with people right out by our door that were drunk or on something. Probably wont be coming back.

The rent was low so I didn't expect an extravagant room. However, we had to body slam room 242's door to open it. To get out we had to pull very hard on the knob. The TV didn't have service, the toilet rocked, there was only a sheet on the bed, no blanket, and the smoke detector was chirping. I called the front desk and when the manager came to fix it, he took the dead battery, hung the smoke detector back on the wall, said good night and left. We checked out the next day, even though we rented for two nights.

The pictures for this property were clearly outdated once we pulled in. Horrible area and the room itself was terrible. Stains everywhere, hole in the shower, ceiling dropping in the bathroom. Had it not been so late when we checked in and we hadn’t driven so long - we would’ve ran quickly to another hotel. Instead we reluctantly stayed and my husband was up most of the night keeping an eye on everything. At one point someone sounded like they were trying to open our door during the night! People sitting in the cars outside the rooms all night…. We had alarms set for 8 but ended up leaving at the crack of dawn. Worst experience ever. Full refund being requested!!

They are in the process renovation and doing a great job on it. My room was super clean and area was quiet.

Places is a dump, all the out-lights were pushed in the wall or hanging and not secure. Room liked like an ash tray, and its a smoke free room they claim. Staff was not friendly and didn't listen well. Door was sticking and didn't open right or close properly. I had several allergy attacks here, towels are all brown stained. Tv in room worked off and on, lots of dead bugs in the corners of the room, looked like it was never cleaned. Bed and pillow quality is terrible.

Comfortable bed great water pressure I would recommend bringing air fresheners it was a little musty

The workmanship on the rooms was terrible. Very cheap and unfinished looking. Bed was fine. A/C worked well. Okay place for one night.

I like their Customer service. Very helpful , cooperative and respectful.

Very rude and not understanding, canceled my booking (which if it was explained to me nicely wouldn't have been a big deal) talked down to me and interrupted me. Made sure he was louder when interrupting me.

They chared my card twice for same room. Said they was gonna refound but didn't. Do not recommend. They lie . Got me for 270. . Dont do it

I went around 9am on July 3pm to ask for another room because the people over me were making too much noise the guy at the counter didn’t want to change it. I even wanted to extend it but he said he would give me another room neither and he was very rude.

Very disappointed! When I arrived initially, I thought the GPS brought me to the wrong address because it looked abandoned, but I'd already pre-paid through Expedia so I said I'd go in and see. I was charged a $50 Deposit, which I'd done before, but when I asked for a Receipt there were 2 different dollar amounts shown. The Clerk assured me those amounts would "drop off" upon check-out, so I took his word for it. I then confirmed he had a "non-smoking" room for me, to which he responded, "Yes, all our rooms are non-smoking." When I got to the room, not only did it have a bad odor, but it smelled like smoke. There were baby spiders in several areas of the room, including on one of the pillows on the bed. There were at least 3 flies buzzing annoyingly around the room. It didn't look like the shower had been cleaned out, there was hair in the tub and on the wall. To be honest, it looked as if it had been vacant a long time prior to me checking in. Fast forward to Check-out, same Clerk from Check-in. I expressed my concerns about the smell of Smoke. (Woke up several times feeling awful- have Asthma) He then informed me it was "previously a smoking room and hadn't been renovated yet". He then went on to tell me they recently took over the property, aren't finished, and just started that side. Which explains why it looked abandoned. Also, the Charges are still incorrect. I'd just like a Full Refund at this point, but can't reach anyone at Expedia.

Sheets and doona were stained heavily. Plaster falling from the ceiling. Horrible neighbourhood. Bums asking for money daily. Homeless everywhere. Should’ve googled Portsmouth VA and Super 8 before booking. It’s basically the dregs of society.

Only reason we didn’t ask to change rooms was because it was already late and we were about to go to sleep. We heard a couple of loud arguments happening outside from other guests. The AC was super loud every time it kicked on. We didn’t even stay the second night we paid for because of everything. The guy at the desk was not helpful when we asked if a refund was possible. It was my husband and I and our 2 year old. Would not recommend for families or anyone staying alone. Or really anyone.

Th is started at the lobby. Dirty with junk all around. The area looked unsafe. The room felt creepy, TV didn’t work. Luckily no bugs. I booked for two nights and was so tired from driving over 9 hundred miles. I slept in my clothes and left as soon as I could and requested a refund. I just don’t know why someone runs this.

When we arrived men standing around all over just looking also not a single car in parking lot next morning there was 4 cars that did stay what a joke couldn't understand the neighbor motel was fantastic

Booked for two nights and only stayed for one- took the loss of money to get out of there- I could have been the cigarette stench in the room, the bugs, no hot water or the shady folks hanging out in the parking lot trying to negotiate a lower rate for cash. Def sketch not for families

Do not recommend to anyone until the construction is done and people aren't living at the other end. Did not feel safe wouldn't be surprised if there was cameras in the hotel watching you. They made sure to tell me not to smoke but as soon as we walked in to our room all you smelled was pot. Shower was hot but was like a jet stream from a garden hose. Had a bed a dresser that would not close. TV was left on. Loud banging noises through the night. We got it cause it had a pool that was not open. People walking around all hours of the night. We got a security deposit back but left a night early told we would get that next night back never did. Just felt VERY VERY unsafe. Wouldn't recommend to anyone the way it was no light covers on the light switches. WORST hotel I've ever stayed at in my life. Doors in the room were drywall mudded shut. They had a water shut off valve as a door lock that did nothing but spun.

The manager on duty moved the room - but still didn't feel right nor comfortable so we did NOT stay the night. I thought that by being a Wyndam property it would be better - but no. I did not feel safe.
