Great alternative to staying in downtown Cleveland. Safe and secure location. Wonderful atmosphere for seniors. Walking distance to museums and botanical garden. Great hot breakfast included with stay. Excellent concierge service. Nice small bar on the premises.

We stayed two nights. It was spectacular. The surrounding area is beautiful and very walkable. The breakfast buffet is splendid. Sadly someone rifled through our car the second night while it was parked in the hotel lot. There was no vandalism but they did pilfer our money we kept for tolls.

Historic beautiful property. The pictures make the place seem bigger than it is. We had a suite and it was small. The picture when booking does not come close to resembling the room. They are working on the property so light fixtures on the second floor were hanging. They had a wedding that weekend which made parking a nightmare. I wish someone would have informed us of the wedding rehearsal and wedding that occupied the entire place. I felt like I was intruding on their special day because it took place on the first floor right next to the elevator. I would have found somewhere else to stay had I known.

Elevator not working. Would be nice to be given free parking due to the inconvenience climbing the third floor room. Would have been nice to have gotten an alert the elevator is not working, but it’s too late to cancel after you arrive and are told that. Pretty location.

A beautiful 1910 house with elegant mansion decor on University Circle—an oasis in the middle of the city. A concierge greeted us. Our room was well-appointed, clean, and quiet; the bed was comfortable; and we liked the banquette where we could place most of our luggage for easy access. The VIP gift was a card for a free drink in the charming small bar on the main floor, and we enjoyed the experience. At breakfast we appreciated the real silverware and plates and the enclosed porch seating. We would return here in a trice.

We stayed at this property in December and chose to return for a longer stay in January. Parking was easy, breakfast was easy, and staff was nice. Some rooms were a little older feeling but clean with nice towels. No gym but a bar and nice area to sit in the breakfast area.

The toilet in my room hadn't been cleaned but housekeeping did come right away and clean it. (The baseboards and corners of the floor haven't been cleaned in a long time.) The carpet was wet near the window so I had to wear shoes in the room. The first morning I enjoyed the yogurt, granola, and berries at breakfast but these were not offered the second morning. You can't beat the location of this hotel for taking advantage of museums and botanical garden and so many other things.

Excellent location, walkable to museums, botanic garden, and CWRU. The room is not very big but clean and comfortable. The inside is tastefully decorated and the outside is a beautiful garden. The hot breakfast beats most hotels in the area.

getting a little tired. the food and service at breakfast buffet was great. on day of checkout the same cleaner came to my door twice before 9 am. the first time (8.30; too early) i told her i would be there at least another few hours. tub was dirty and clogged

Staff was friendly and the hotel is beautiful and has great potential. However, the cleanliness is not good at all. The breakfast can be better if the hot food was actually hot and the mugs & glasses were cleaned properly.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay and would definitely stay again if we are in Cleveland. Everyone on staff was joyful and so kind. The property grounds are so relaxing and beautifully maintained. The small bar area was expensive but nice for a nightcap. Location: EXCELLENT! We walked to Little Italy for dinner and lunch and also walked just a few minutes to the museums. We took to Healthline bus to a Cleveland Guardians game (the RedLine track was being repaired, otherwise we would have taken that). We felt safe in the area - even when returning around 11:30pm after the baseball game. Room: A bit dated and a slight smell. The bathroom needs some updating. Bed was a queen with four pillows. Wifi signal was not as strong in the room. Coffee maker and bathroom amenities provided. Breakfast: Reminded us of a typical hotel breakfast. Potatoes, meat, eggs. Pastries (muffins, scones, waffles or french toast). Bread, bagels, oatmeal, yogurt and a some cut up fruit. Coffee, tea, juice. The breakfast area was beautiful - dining room, sun room or outside. Parking: We had an Expedia VIP perk with free parking. Parking lot was full each night. Overall a really nice stay in a hotel with charm, kind staff and an excellent location.

The staff was very nice, especially during the breakfast rush. Unfortunately there was an issue with the shower head in our bathroom as it would not turn off. We called maintenance and while the gentleman was extremely respectful and courteous, he could not fix the issue. We had to listen to water continuously drop from the shower head that was 9 foot in the air and hit the floor of the walk in shower all night and day. It was extremely exasperating. The maintenance man said he would note the issue and have the front desk staff compensate us for the inconvenience. However, when discussing with the front desk staff the next morning, they did not seem to have any notes on the maintenance issue and took a laughable amout of money off our bill. Also the walls are paper thin and could hear entire conversations in the room next to us. The room on the floor above us were banging around until around 2am and started back up at 6am. The rest of the hotel was nice but could use a serious coat of paint.

Overall, very nice historic building with excellent breakfast and very convenient to Case Western University. We were upgraded to suite but preferred the original 2 bed arrangement that was no longer available during our check-in time. Also, had some construction noise in the morning but the staff was friendly otherwise and very helpful

Heating unit under window was VERY loud. Fan started every 10 minutes even when temperature set for heat at 60 degrees. Much like trying to sleep next to jet engine. Will not stay here again.

This place is very nice, easy to get places from there, well placed location. However i booked a queen bed and the bed was more if a double size, so not comfortable for us. Otherwise I would recommend this place for a stay.

Charged us for smoking in room, we didn't. Talked to manager, she took it off the bill, nice lady, said housekeeping found empty pack in trash. That's not smoking in room. I have receipt with charge removed. Charged my card anyway after we left. Now they won't return my calls what a scam.

Charged us for smoking in room, we didn't. Talked to manager, she took it off the bill, nice lady, said housekeeping found empty pack in trash. That's not smoking in room. I have receipt with charge removed. Charged my card anyway after we left. Now they won't return my calls what a scam.

The only negative comment that we have is that the woman who is servicing breakfast both days that we were there spoke on her phone almost the entire time. She walked around the area talking loudly and clearly there was no emergent need to. It was annoying and it made her less approachable. The concierge James was very very helpful. The bartender was good as was the woman who checked us in. All the other stuff that we saw in the Halls were very communicative and approachable. The dining area is quiet and peaceful but the staff person speaking on her phone interrupted that. Everyone else was fabulous and courteous. The grounds were lovely, the room was comfortable. We would definitely like to go back.

great location, walking distance to many interesting venues. I forgot my Ipad in room upon check out and didnt realize it unless i had left the city and the front desk responded to my call and were extremely helpful and are mailing it back to me

We couldn’t get the Wifi to work. We called front desk several times and nobody answered. I had to walk down to desk to get help. It kept asking for a login window and the wrong login kept coming up. The person at the front desk said that happens a lot. It seems like this should be fixed. Also it was not fun to be woken up by housekeeping at 8am. It was my own fault for not putting the do not disturb sign on but I didn’t think they would come that early. Otherwise it was a great hotel, clean, friendly staff and a wonderful breakfast.

The staff at the registration desk were outstanding!! Friendly and helpful. As was Roger, the bellman. The other staff we encountered [lounge attendant, and event staff we saw in the halls] were not friendly. THey gave the impression that I was invisible, even when they needed to move out of the hallway for me to pass. We took advantage of the complimentary drink and had to have someone hunt down a person to help us. She was borderline rude and not engaged in any customer service. Fortunately, the check-in staff and Roger made up for the attitudes of others. Such a shame as this is a nice place, lots of character and history, and close to so many great things in University Circle.

Amazing stay at the Glidden House! Wonderful beautiful property, amenities, breakfast. We enjoyed walking to dine both nights in Little Italy - 15 minutes. Walk to Botanical Gardens, Severace Hall, Museums. Glidden House is a real gem - would definitely stay there again and recommend. Parking is great.

This was a wonderful way to end a road trip of cookie cutter chain hotels. The building is beautiful, the staff is helpful, and the room comfortable. The strong water pressure in the shower was nice. It's within walking distance of several museums and the restaurants of Little Italy.

The hotel was beautifully decorated for the Holidays. The front desk person, Louise was efficient, welcoming, friendly, helpful, and just an asset to this hotel. The room was clean and comfortable. The room had water for the guests which is a nice touch. The bathroom was clean and had all the amenities one could need. The only negative comment I have is the pillows on the bed were not comfortable, which would not affect my choice to return here. The breakfast was absolutely delicious. (I travel each week for my profession) and the food was freshly made, and there was a wide variety of choices: fresh fruit, yogurt, waffles, eggs, sausage, potatoes, and different pastries. It was such a pleasant stay. We will definitely be back.

We stayed here to celebrate our 25th anniversary and are very glad we did. Beautiful property and rooms, great service. Impressed with the free breakfast which included high quality eggs, sausage, potatoes, belgian waffles and assortment of pastries. Best included breakfast we've had. Highly recommend and we plan on staying here again.

We loved it! It was in a very safe area in the college. We walked to a great restaurant. The amenities were very nice. Our bartender was very good and made us great margaritas! We were very impressed. The breakfast was very nice too. Food was a little cold though.

What a gem! This historic boutique hotel truly did not disappoint. The staff were, by far, some of the friendliest and most personable we have encountered in all our travels. Alexis, who tended the hotel’s small, intimate bar, was professional, welcoming, and a pleasure to chat with. She knew so much about the history of the house. James, the concierge, has been with the hotel for more than 20 years. His passion for the property was evident.
