Quality Inn Mount Vernon, IL

First room assigned smelled of cigarette smoke. I was quickly and kindly given another room. Coffee machine was not functioning properly at breakfast. Was acceptable for quick overnight crash mid-journey. Definitely due for some updates.

Staff was courteous and friendly

The hotel is old with a slight makeover. The walls are paper thin so it is easy to hear the conversation in every room while walking down the hall. The bed was comfortable and pillows were good. The fan on the heat/air conditioner was broken and always on, even when both heat and A/C were off. It only stopped when the machine was unplugged. It was 54 degrees outside last night so we were fine in the room but it would be another thing if it was mid winter and -10. The staff were very helpful and did offer to move us to another room.

The bed in room 117 was terrible, mattress was in need of replacement years ago. We were exhausted from a long day of driving and probably would have requested another room, but realize how bad the bed was until we TRIED to go to sleep. Breakfast was Meh, no brewed coffee and powdered eggs. Not worth $100. WILL NOT BE STAYING AT A QUALITY INN AGAIN

Great price, nice clean room, comfy bed and seating. Nice fridge and breakfast. We had a 1bed king room with loveseat.
