Hotel is in a fun neighborhood with lots of things to do in an easy walk. Staff very attentive. Rooms clean and spacious by NY standards. The rooftop pool and bar are lovely but aren’t open enough. Pool closes at 6 pm so don’t expect to have an evening swim to cool off. Also rooftop bar was closed every night for private events. Drinks super expensive- $25 for a Margarita is too high.

We lived our stay. The service is always impeccable and the employees helpful and nice. Truly exceptional. One bad thing was that our blackout shades kept stopping working— not convenient at midnight. With everyone in pajamas didn’t want to let engineering come in to fix it. Annoying but still an amazing hotel and next time I’ll make sure the shades work before unpacking. We got a room up high with a great view so zero complaints there. Are at Le Coin and C&C— bot both great. Be aware kids not allowed poolside after 12noon (I definitely understand why)— just be aware.

Great service by entry staff. Nice that had effective ac over a hot weekend. A couple downfalls: - acoustics: the rooms are far from sound masked. You hear absolutely everything as evidenced by seeing sunlight through the doors in the hall - pool area: the hotel has some membership program which led to no chance on 3 day trip to get a seat by the pool. This area was also not being cleaned so to sit by edge of pool had to move peoples dirty plates - check in early fee: appreciate many us hotels now charge for early check in, 150 usd seems steep and ultimately is just charging their customers for a room that is ready and available for them. - no turndown service: always appreciate when hotels offer this but was not provided here.

The hotel is beautiful and in a fantastic location. Plenty of shopping and restaurants all with feeling safe. Staff is welcoming. Also, rooftop lounge was perfect for cocktails! Our room wasn’t cleaned so we had to ask for towels. Not sure if we are supposed to request service.

When booking, I explicitly requested NOT to have a room next to an elevator. The room I was given was not only directly across from the elevator but also directly across from the housekeeping storage room. This meant that every morning I was subjected to constant noise. Banging , crashing, locking, doors slamming etc. Unbelievable. I thought I was staying at a hostel. The "do not disturb" button on the digital control panel did not work. How do I know this? Because EVERY morning at 8am there was a loud knocking at my door and then they tried to OPEN the door (it was chained). When I yelled out that I had a DND button (red) they said , oh "that doesn't work". Nice. I work late hours so this become a real issue. Lastly, I had no WiFi for 3.5 days. When I checked in their servers had gone down so they couldn't access the main hotel reservation system. In the room the wifi was so bad that I couldn't even load maps and had to go outside and find a stronger LTE mobile signal. The hotel IT guy came by and gave me access to a different Wifi network but it was still weak and unproductive to use. He was nice and genuinely cared about the problem. Although I liked the people and the location, this was a really terrible and frustrating experience. Gannsevort you can do MUCH BETTER. With so many 4-5 star options to choose from I doubt I'll be staying there again unless I have an incentive to do so.

The room was unusual. I got a suite and it was tiny. The shower was unusually small about 12 inches from the toilet. And the room / seating area basically unconnected. Couldn’t get down the hall between the two with the door open. Shouldn’t use this room. It was room 617.

In the heart of the Meatpacking District. Easy to get uptown or downtown via taxi or Uber. Close to the Highline. The hotel itself has larger than average rooms for NYC. It has great dining options, a pool, well appointed workout facility, friendly/helpful staff and the perfect location.

Hotel staff was rude and the people at the front desk all seemed like they didn’t wanna be at their job. Valet people and door men were friendly. It’s very interesting how you valet a 120k car and the front desk staff can’t give you proper directions on how to pick it up after hours. Parking garage tells you give ticket to hotel, people at hotel tell you keep ticket. Properly train your staff on how someone picks up their car after hours.

Some staff were extremely friendly and some very much less so. Try to ask for top floor rooms. Mine was in third floor with a view of a wall from my window. No coffee machine in room. It’s rare that a hotel kicks it out of the ballpark on all criteria - location, service , food and ambience, but Gansevoort does. The staff is so attentive and helpful, it just made our stay so much more pleasurable!

Location was great. Right across from the RH store and rooftop restaurant. Many flagship retail stores to visit in the meat packing and Chelsea Market mall. Walk and bike options next to it are the high line and Hudson River Greenway.

Good location, one (long) block from the subway. Rooftop was cool but there was a private party there on the night we tried to check it out. Room was comfortable but no coffee pots in the room.

In the heart of the Meatpacking District. Easy to get uptown or downtown via taxi or Uber. Close to the Highline. The hotel itself has larger than average rooms for NYC. It has great dining options, a pool, well appointed workout facility, friendly/helpful staff and the perfect location.

Great location! Welcoming and helpful staff. Great breakfast menu and amenities. Love the flat iron in the rooms along with the blow dryers! Seeing the same doormen at each visit is a plus - they are the jewel in the crown!

The hotel stay was average. For the price they charge per night could have been a much nicer facility. Looks nice at first but kind of old. The dining options both three restaurants we tried one and it was horrible. The breakfast was barely edible and they tried three times to make a cup of coffee And every cup was poor. Service was OK definitely wasted money on breakfast at that hotel $100 for some eggs and three French toast sticks completely not worth it. Would not recommend staying there and would not stay there again. Customer service was OK at best.

The location of The Gansevoort is superb. The neighborhood is chic and interesting and the proximity to The High Line was so convenient. The access to a pool was nice on a hot August day too! I would say the down side was the quality of the food at the Cocktails Coffee restaurant. It was just mediocre and lacking the culinary execution for the price you are paying…go to Chelsea Market instead.

This hotel is one of the best stays in the city. So close to the best shopping, dining and things to see. But more importantly the staff were amazing! Service is impeccable and dining with views was so beautiful on the rooftop! A must stay and will be back!

The property was very average and over priced. The resturants had limited menu items and thw weight time depsite having mutiple open table's was extremely slow. The food was cold upon delivery. I had a suite an another room in addition that was attached. I never got a key to my suite i had to go gwt onw after figuring out that the key was for one room.not the suite and attached room. Would not stay agin.

I recently had a one-night stay at the hotel to celebrate my sister’s birthday, and I cannot say enough about the amazing staff. Erica at the front desk warmly greeted us upon our arrival. Her enthusiasm for her job truly shines through, and it made us feel welcome right away. Marcel was also fantastic; he helped us with our bags and was very attentive throughout our stay. Lastly, Aidin, the bartender, absolutely made our night incredible! His service and friendly demeanor added a special touch to our celebration. Thank you to the entire team for making our experience so memorable!

Excellent location, nice size room and fast check in. Only difficulty was getting attention of waitress at breakfast, as she was busy looking at her phone and chatting with woman preparing coffee. Had to go to her to get coffee refill and wave at her to order!

We had a really great stay, everyone was wonderful. We were there to celebrate our son’s birthday. He wanted to stay in a fancy hotel and have breakfast in bed. The staff especially Kori at the front desk went above and beyond to make this happen and make him feel special. The pool was great. Only downside is no coffee from the server at the pool and the roof top bar was closed to a private party our first night and just closed the second night. We will stay again on next trip to the city. Thanks!!
