The Cowdry Cottage - Pet-Friendly - Canoe - Bikes

The Cowdry Cottage and Hut are the greatest little find our family has had in a long time! It's exactly as described, charming, quiet and totally relaxing. The main cottage is updated to be super comfortable but still has retained it's mid-century charm. The beds, bathroom, kitchen and living areas were updated and very comfortable. Lake Cowdry is beautiful with, pelicans, loons and ducks floating by that we watched from a new dock with a sitting area on the very end. We started the day with coffee at sunrise and ended with a glass of wine at sunset! Our newly married son and daughter-in-law we with us and loved the privacy of The Hut! It was perfect. A big bonus was the soft water in the cabin, We are originally from the area and try to rent on the lake whenever we come back to visit relatives. We have NEVER had soft water in a cabin before! It's better than most the local hotels! We will definitely be back!

The space was perfect for the two of us (and our pup) for a weekend away in Alexandria. The house had everything we needed. The location was great to allow us to venture into Alexandria and the surrounding areas. We very much enjoyed the lake views right outside the back door!

Cabin was cozy and a perfect little get away. Bonus is the garage is heated and was perfect for us to bring in our ice fishing gear to dry out during the night. Hosts were very nice and had great communication.

The cottage & hut was perfect for our group of 5. Yes, 5! The mattress I slept on was very supportive. A bathroom and a half was an extra bonus since there were 5 of us. And another bonus was the view of the beautiful lake.
