Caught a show at Yum. This hotel is attached via a parking garage to Yum, so that was really easy getting to the show. There's a bar or restaurant around every corner. I encourage everyone to go explore, but this had everything for the trip, so we grabbed a few drinks, had a bite went to the show, came back ... everything in one!

Staff was great. Hotel Seemed outdated, too over crowded pool was awful. Loud with highway, no privacy and zero amenities by the pool. 3rd floor common area was as busy as airport terminal. Conferences made too busy for others. Parking deck was disgusting

Accommodations were great! Very beautiful room and waterview. Hotel offered so much amenities that we didn’t have to leave the hotel for a weekend getaway. Great restaurant food options, bar and social areas. Pelo Spa was amazing; did a couples massage and they provided champagne and spirits free while you wait. Very nice hotel and location.

Great location and easy access to many activities. Parking garage access was easy and allowed in/out privileges for a reasonable price. Hallways and elevators were very hot and not air conditioned. Long wait times for an elevator which intensified having no air. Check in process was very disorganized and check in staff were not helpful. They have two garages and nobody directed us which garage to park but luckily I chose the right one, they informed us upon requesting parking pass that the other garage has been having issues.

At check in the computers were down so we could get in our room. We had our dog so that was a mess. Once inside the hotel pretty clean and has everything you need all right there. I must admit 30 dollars a night for parking is a bit overboard.

That’s the only hotel on the Ohio river. It has two towers the east tower has check-in, valet, and connection to Jeff steakhouse within the building. It connects to the west tower via 1st floor outdoor crosswalk and 3 rd floor indoor crosswalk with conservatory. West tower has nice 2nd floor pub, and rooftop restaurant. It is walking distance to Louisville e sluggers museum and Muhammad Ali center

We went out for the evening after quickly running out bags up to the room. I wish we had done a quick check around the room because this place was dirty… the pillows had caked make up and other stains on them. There were empty bottles and other things near the edges. We had too early of a flight the next day to go running around this giant hotel to get a staff member to switch our rooms so we dealt with the nastiness. I wouldn’t recommend staying again. Even the staff checking us out seemed indifferent and unengaged.

My expectations were definitely not met. After looking at all the different options of hotels around we chose this one after reading reviews and looking at pictures. The girl that checked me In at the front must have been new. She didn’t really answer any of my questions and the language barrier was very high. The parking garage is a nightmare and it’s a very long walk if you’re in the west building. I asked about valet but again I didn’t really get an answer. The carpet in the halls are really dirty and the room is just okay. The hotel is pretty run down for being one of the top picks to stay. The pool is also dirty. Not impressed and won’t be back.

They seem to be updating rooms, mine was pristine. Clean hotel all around. 0 signs of mold or bugs as other reviewers have mentioned. Room service was at my door within 15 minutes of ordering. Friendly staff. Great time all around.

We are staying in a suite with a balcony. The room has an overwhelming foul odor. I can't put my finger on it but it's an in between of musty and wet dog; there's also a frequent cigarette and marijuana odor that permeates the room from the balcony. The balcony door does not have a good seal and it truly sounds like we have our windows open. There was quite a bit of hair on the floor in the bathroom. We just had to call and request linens for the pull out sofa despite booking this room for four guests.

The food was horrible when we checked in and in the morning, the 24th floor had dead cockroaches all by the elevator doors as you step out onto floor ( took photos) , checked every floor from 10-24 and the vending machine doesn't work or out of stock on drinks, had to pay 30$ for parking witch i would think for over 200$ a night that would be included.

Clean room and very comfortable bed. Close to downtown with a nice view of the river. Room service was the worst I have ever experienced. We ordered the French onion soup, farmhouse pasta, spinach salad and pretzels with mustard and beer cheese. Better to go next door to the ruby steakhouse and get takeout. Complicated layout. I think we had to get off on the third floor and go to the other tower to get to our room. The next morning, my husband got trapped because he didn’t take the room key. Apparently the elevators are restricted. The towel rack in the bathroom fell apart when my husband took the towel off. They promptly sent someone to fix it. The bathroom was clean and spacious with nice amenities.

Perfect room for a perfect stay in the heart of Louisville. The room was large, with a wet bar, mini fridge separated by a set of doors to the bathroom and bedroom. Extremely comfortable and clean. Easy to connect to the fast WI-Fi. The location was easy to get to and out of. The view of the river was a nice bonus. The multitude of choices to eat/drink while in the hotel was top notch. And many, many more local restaurants within a very close walking distance. Overall, this is a highly recommended hotel to stay in. We plan on returning and enjoying more of all that Louisville has to offer.

The room and Expedia VIP upgrades were great. The noise from the highway and the steamboat were greatly unexpected. There’s nothing the Galt can do about that, it’s just worth mentioning. There were almost no staff to interact with the whole trip, a little weird.

We had a one night stay and wanted to splurge on our one night in Louisville. We knew we wanted to be riverfront so the Galt House was the way to go. Most incredible river view at this hotel. We had a river view room with a balcony. If you’re wanting a nice view, with an incredible room, splurge and get the river view balcony room. You seriously won’t regret it. I’m so glad we had such an amazing experience with the Galt House and we will be returning.

The air con unit was pretty loud and even with earplugs, you could still hear it especially when the condenser kicked on. Would have expected central air for a hotel of the caliber this one is looking to be.

The hotel was generally nice - but what really made our stay great was a woman whose name I believe was Nilka, who checked us in. We were in a rush to get to a wedding and she got us right in to a wonderful room even though we were a little early for check in. She had a great attitude and truly made our stay wonderful. I really appreciate the hospitality and I would absolutely stay here again. Great views of the river and best value we found in the area

Check in was a little difficult the staff was young and more into their own conversations than the guests. We went to our room on the 17th floor and the key didn’t work so back to front desk they gave us new keys same thing they didn’t work. They finally moved us to a new room and then the rest of the trip was great! The hotel is beautiful with beautiful views, great restaurants, the breakfast bar was amazing! We walked around in the evening and it was beautiful! I love the history of the Galt House and would stay there every time I go to Louisville. It has a lot of charm!

The Galt was fantastic -- I wouldn't ever want to stay anywhere else in Louisville! One thing: when we arrived at 11:25 pm, we were told that.all the restaurants were closed. But the next day I discovered that they have Room Service until 1:00.am! Why wouldn't they think to tell us that?

Front desk staff were not friendly or welcoming at al! When we checked out, the lady didn’t ask how our stay was, never smiled and seemed totally inconvenienced with us. We never got a parking pass and had a terrible time getting out the first day. Had to go back to the desk and ask for one.

Super clean and spaceous room. Not enough staff to support a busy hotel. No sheets in the room for the pull out sofa. It took 4 conversations and over an hour to get the sheets we needed. We kept getting the excuse that the hotel was at 80 percent capacity and they didn't have the staff to handle it.

Great location. Hotels uses technology to assist with check in / check out, valet services etc., making it very quick and easy. Only stayed one night and amenities were plentiful.

The hotel was very nice. I received prompt service at check-in. The room was clean and cool. It had a nice decor and was very comfortable. We also had a nice view of the Ohio River from the 24th floor of the West Tower. The hotel was conveniently located to dining, entertainment and the convention center where our even was being held. I would definitely stay here again if/when I visit Louisville again!

Clean room and very comfortable bed. Close to downtown with a nice view of the river. Room service was the worst I have ever experienced. We ordered the French onion soup, farmhouse pasta, spinach salad and pretzels with mustard and beer cheese. Better to go next door to the ruby steakhouse and get takeout. Complicated layout. I think we had to get off on the third floor and go to the other tower to get to our room. The next morning, my husband got trapped because he didn’t take the room key. Apparently the elevators are restricted. The towel rack in the bathroom fell apart when my husband took the towel off. They promptly sent someone to fix it. The bathroom was clean and spacious with nice amenities.

Literally love this hotel and its convenience to all of Whiskey Row. The only downside was the breakfast buffet. I included it in my reservation. It was cold. It had limited options as most of trays were near empty. And no one was manning the omelette and waffle stations so we couldn’t even enjoy that.

The hotel itself is not the problem- the restaurants at the hotel were *bad*. We went to Walkers and the Jockey Silks, we actually recieved vouchers for a free meal after the horrible breakfast I had at Walkers. I could not believe how bad the food was, along with the service. I used to work at the Francis Marion hotel, in a former life, and so I know what good service should be. The Walker restaurant I ordered the waffles and strawberry cream and OJ- not a complicated order. The waffle was cold, the "strawberry cream" was the weird gel that is supposed to be like pie filling that they served you in elementary school cafeteria- it tasted like chemicals- I suppose it's the red dye? I was expecting it to at least attempt to look like it was made by a chef? the OJ also tasted weird, had an aftertaste. Maybe it was low sugar or no sugar with a sugar substitute? The pizza we had the night before we left at Jockey silks was fine- but the service again was horrible. Waiter could not speak English- drinks were not delivered, pepsi when delivered was flat, took forever to get the check and two boxes once we were done eating.... Neither meal did I ever even see a manager. Unsure who is running the restaurants at the hotel but wow do they need to address things. The hotel seems to be trying to be a nicer class of hotel- but there's no way that's the impression given at those two restaurants. Service at bellhop and valet was impeccable. Front desk service was okay.

Lovely hotel. I was there for a conference. The food, on the other hand, was poor so if you are going to stay there, make plans to eat elsewhere.

Everything was great except for the options for a quick breakfast. We went to the center area where the Starbucks is and they were out of breakfast food every single day. It was not convenient and very annoying. It was graduation weekend so I would hope they would’ve been prepared to have lots of people coming through to be out of any breakfast items options was very disappointing.

You really can’t beat the location of the Galt House. We were in Louisville for a long weekend and could walk to so much of what we wanted to do, which was a huge plus. Unfortunately, the hotel itself just didn’t live up to the location. It’s very dated and could really use a refresh. Our room was clean enough, but the shower definitely could have been cleaner, and there was a musty smell throughout parts of the hotel. We also had constant issues with the elevators — at least one seemed to be out of service pretty much our entire stay, which made getting up and down a headache. Parking was probably our biggest frustration. The garage is confusing and navigating it with a larger vehicle was a nightmare. Overall, it wasn’t a terrible stay, but for such a well-known hotel in such a prime location, we expected a little more. With so many other options downtown, we probably wouldn’t stay here again.
