Lovely hotel with everything you need, staff were very friendly and helpful. The restaurant staff were great too and food was delicious! Bathroom was quite small but room size was just right. Would definitely stay here again!

Mysigt hotell med mycket trevlig personal. Bra mat på restaurangen och bekvämt med parkeringhus under hotellet.

The hotel is fantastic with one drawback. The toilet in our room was really small. You're sharing space between the shower, and where you stand in front of the sink. Everything else in the hotel was amazing. Everyone raves about how great the breakfast is, but in addition to that all of their food was delicious. We tried their dinner and dessert too and it was probably the best we had in all Stockholm. The room was spacious, and the lobby was always clean. I gave 4 stars because: 1. the bathroom was too small, 2. when we asked for a plug adapter for European plugs they had them for sale, but in the rest of our trips all of the hotels were happy to lend us one., and 3. the wait time at elevators was a bit too long. Other than those, I recommend the hotel for the outstanding food, helpful staff, and its cleanliness.

Toaletten hamnade flera gånger i påfyllningsläge vilket gjorde att den stod och rann till man tryckte till på knappen en gång till. Hissarna hade problem och stannade för flera personer på någon våning och kom inte ner igen förrän personal tog en annan hiss upp och åtgärdade. Bodde här för flera år sedan, känns som det börjar bli dags för en övergripande renovering. Även om frukostbuffen är helt ok saknar jag det där lilla extra, uppvärmda halvfabrikatspannkakor är inte jättespännande, möjlighet att göra egna våfflor eller åtminstone att pannkakorna är nygräddade från smet skulle lyfta det hela. Koncentrerad apelsinjuice som inte riktigt smakar som man hoppas, färskpressad är roligare.

Excellent experience. The rooms and hotel are very clean and within walking distance of many great restaurants and the city center. The staff is helpful and friendly. The breakfast bar is quite decent. It’s quiet at night.

Det kunde ha varit bättre dammsugat i badrummet. Frukosten var fantastisk. Lite kallt på rummet när jag kom men frös inte när jag skulle sova. Fina fräscha mysiga rum. Sov supergott

Staff is wonderful, great buffet breakfast to keep anyone happy. The bathroom did have some mold build up in the caulk around the tub and the bed had a bad spring in it witch you had to try and sleep around. Besides those two minor things it was a great Hotel and would highly recommend.

Rummet var fint och välstädat. Personalen var väldigt hjälpsamma vid frågor och alltid trevliga. Frukosten och middagen var väldigt bra också samt mycket alternativ. Är väldigt nöjd med mitt besök.

Fick först ett rum som inte var städat ordentligt. Stod smutsiga glas på bordet, en handduk var använd och någon hade gått på toaletten och inte spolat efter sig. Fick dock snabbt ett nytt rum. Sängen var för hård och fjädrarna i den gnisslade. Vaknade flera ggr under natten pga att det var kallt. Frukosten var mkt bra och gjorde betyget till en trea istället för tvåa.

Bra frukost, lite mycket folk bara. Ljudisolering av rummet särskilt fönster, då man hör väldigt mycket ifrån gatan utanför.

Room was spacious and comfortable ( and warm from the outdoor crispness of November) breakfast each morning was fantastic! Highly recommended

Rummet var stort, hade 2 badrum och en mysig layout. Ända nackdelen var att ljuset inte var dimningsbart men vi skulle absolut kunna tänka oss att boka minisviteb 635 igen.

Lovely staff! The room and bed was great, very comfortable. Breakfast is top tier, very good selection and always well stocked. The only negative for me was the bathroom, it’s a bit small, even in the JR suite. It’s a wet room and personally, I prefer a bathroom with separate shower/bath area. Fine for the six nights stayed though and wouldn’t let that put you off staying.

First of all the good points. The hotel was of a good standard, the room high quality (and I was asked at check in whether I preferred a room with a bath or a shower). The check out was quick and they stored my luggage for later collection quickly and efficiently. But, they really messed up over breakfast - the breakfast area was busy when I came downstairs but there were places at a bar table area. However the staff member checking people in as they came down recommended I went to an overspill room downstairs, and assured me there was a full choice of items. I should have realised as soon as I got down there that this was very much second best compared to the main breakfast area, plain seating in a box like room which was almost empty, coffee from a thermos not freshly made, no toaster for the bread and when I checked on my way out there were twice as many hot food items available in the main breakfast area - this really let down what was looking like a nice hotel, but worst was the fact I had been misled by the staff member - that is unacceptable and why the rating is dropped two stars at to what it would have been otherwise.

Great stay, friendly staff.

Excellent location in a quiet neighborhood in walking distance of Stockholm’s interesting attractions. The green metro line is nearby and easy to use. The breakfast and restaurant are among the best meals we’ve had in Scandinavia. The staff are patient and helpful with any questions or concerns. We will definitely stay here again when we come back to Stockholm.

Højdepunktet var housekeeping personalet. Venlige og hjælpsomme og ganske fantastisk at rummet blev ordnet hver dag. Det var dejligt!

The hotel was within walking distance of all the major attractions and transportation hubs for Stockholm. If you have luggage it’s best to take an uber/taxi to the hotel if arriving via Stockholm’s Central Station. Overall, our stay was fine and the breakfast buffet was definitely the highlight of our stay.

Hotel Birger Jarl is conveniently located and walkable to shopping and dining. Included breakfast wasgeneeous and abundant. Hotel staff was friendly and attentive.

Great staff and location is perfect i.e quiet and only a few blocks away from metro station or 10-15 minutes walk to city centre.

The property is located in a very nice part of the city. Many restaurants, cafés, shops, and within walking distance to attractions.

Our stay at the Birger Jarl Hotel was overall disappointing, especially considering the high price point and the distance from the main attractions in Stockholm. Despite the glowing reviews I had read beforehand, the experience did not live up to expectations. The location proved inconvenient: most of the places we wanted to visit, particularly south of Central Station and in the Old Town, were a good 30-minute walk away. For families or first-time visitors, I would strongly recommend choosing accommodation closer to Central Station or Gamla Stan. Customer service was underwhelming and lacked the warmth I’ve experienced in other Scandinavian hotels. The welcome was not particularly friendly, and the overall approach felt rushed rather than guest-oriented. Breakfast, while adequate, was not nearly as special as reviews suggested. For a Scandinavian hotel, the offering was standard at best. Guests arriving closer to the end of service should be aware that staff clear away food promptly, with little flexibility or warmth in their approach. Room comfort was mixed. The main bed was fine, but the sofa bed provided for my daughter was poorly thought out—a blanket and sheet on a narrow, elevated sofa. I was concerned about her rolling off, and it did not feel like a safe or suitable sleeping arrangement for a child. Ultimately, I regret booking this hotel based on overly positive reviews. While the hotel seems to aspire to a higher standard, in practice it falls short in terms of
