La Quinta by Wyndham Lakeland West

Neighborhood was sketchy. Sprinklers soaked you going thru front door. General appearance of lobby tired. Going towards elevator started notice the basic lack of care. Elevator bad odor. Leaving elevator going down halfway overwhelming chemical odor. Walls paint and wAll paper peeling bad. Room door looked like it had been kicked in. Husband had to use shoulder to open door. Room interior shabby. I pulled back sheets to check mattress, full of engorged bed bugs. Also note this is an extended stay property. Avoid at all costs.! _

The pool was very dirty, we constantly had issues getting in out room, and the bath tube was stained and nasty.

Location was excellent but property needs some major cleaning and updating. Rooms are large but musty. Our shower/tub was nasty. Mattress and pillows horrible!!!!! Breakfast was decently good. Did not use the pool or the small gym we saw.

The room was clean and spacious.

This hotel was eh. The room itself was fairly clean but the door to our room was bent, hard to push, and let in the hallway light. The elevator and hallway of our floor smelled like they were trying to cover up old smoke. It was a cross between a 2 pack a day smoker and moth balls smell. The breakfast contained no protein options and was just blah. I wish I had chosen another hotel.
