Stayed 1 night

This property has potential but needs more attention to detail. We arrived on a hot afternoon to find all windows and doors closed, with the Aga on (heating all the hot water). Finding the keys was frustrating—they weren’t left in the doors/windows but hidden in a cupboard, and many keys didn’t fit. We spent a good hour trying to find the correct ones. The owner mentioned some keys might be lost by previous occupants, which is concerning from a fire safety perspective. Despite being told to open all windows and doors to cool the house, we could only open the front door and one patio door out of six exterior doors, which is unacceptable.Cleaning was below standard: dusty areas, dirty outdoor furniture, rubbish (including used wet wipes) in the garden, and many weeds and dead plants. The fridge contained leftover half empty bottles and jars. Bedrooms had only two thin pillows per double bed, so bring extras if you want comfort. The shower room was unhygienic, with an unflushed toilet, no mirror and no handwash. There was a lot of coming & going very late at night by the owners who live right next door - driving at speed down the stony driveway at 1.30am was not particularly considerate.Worth noting: the communal outside seating area is right outside the property, so if you have noisy neighbours, privacy and quiet won’t be guaranteed.
