We came to Wanchese for the OBX Marathon and Half Marathon to watch our daughter run her first event. The house was really close to the Start/Finish line so that made it easy on us for the early start. The house was really clean and quaint; the turtable and albums were utilized alot so we got to reminisce about Billy Joel, Linda Ronsatdt and Little Feat!

Wonderful cottage equipped with everything needed. The host even provided coffee pods for the coffee maker!! Fresh flowers from the garden in the bedrooms and living area were lovely. The beds were super comfortable. Front porch was a favorite spot early mornings and afternoons. A decision to stay here will not regretted

A birthday celebration get together. Cards, wine, records playing below the chatter at the cottage. Daily escapades to Nags Head beaches, Mulligans & Blue Moon for lunches, Manteo shopping and the Elizabethan Gardens. Bought seafood at O’Neals and cooked a few nights. Kitchen had what we needed. No complaints, loved it and hope to return!

Lovely place. Outdoor shower was nice on the warm evenings. Easy parking for our 2 cars. Comfy living room with streaming all set up on the TV. Neighborhood was quiet, not a neighbor in sight. Far enough away from the shore to have some peace and quiet, but close enough to be in Kitty hawk in 10 minutes. Would definitely stay here again.

The cottage is nestled in a historic village on Roanoke Island. We really like how close it was to everything but still off the beaten path. The cottage is comfortably appointed with fun touches like a record player and a wide variety of music choices. The kitchen has the basics for simple meals and a washer and dryer.Downside- the central air really struggles to keep it cool, however there are fans. When we stayed outside temps hovered between 95-100(the one and only reason for not giving it 5 stars). The host is wonderful Also, go on a dolphin tour, 5 minutes away - Harbor Star tours!

This cozy cottage was a good central location for visiting many Outer Banks sites. We enjoyed sitting on the front porch and deck during our stay. The house had lots of nice touches, even a guitar and turntable.

The cottage was so charming. It warmed my heart when I brought my daughter and her friend in the door and they went straight for the record player and the games. The cottage was clean and decorated beautifully. The host was wonderful and made us feel very welcome. It definitely is worth a repeat visit!

This was the sweetest, coziest, and happiest little cottage to stay in. The property is well maintained. It has everything you need for a nice get away. It's a great jumping off point, Kitty Hawk museum, the lighthouse, the ocean, and local eateries.

My husband and I rented this cottage for our honeymoon and it was an adorable little cottage. We didn’t spend a lot of time in the cottage as there was so much to do in the Outer Banks, but the bed was very comfortable. The owner does provide Shampoo, conditioner, and body soap, but the body soap was out when we stayed. Since we had brought our own shower supplies, we didn’t bother reaching out to the owner about it, but I’m sure they would have been willing to refill it if we had asked. I had reached out to her a couple of times before our stay and she always responded quickly and courteously. This was my first VRBO experience and I was overall pleased with the experience.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay - the workmanship and decorative touches were wonderful - the cottage is cared for and inviting everywhere you look - quiet and peaceful - the location was perfect, no matter what your interests are - do plan a visit here - you will not be disappointed!! Honestly, even if you weren't planning on going to Wanchese, staying in this place would make it worthwhile to take a detour. So close to the alligator national wildlife refuge, which is why we went, but ridiculously close to the beaches and restaurants and all of that if you're interested in that as well. Great place. Felt more like a cabin than a beach rental, which is why I liked it.
Honestly, even if you weren't planning on going to Wanchese, staying in this place would make it worthwhile to take a detour. We stepped back in time to 1931 when we entered our Wanchese home. Furnished for comfort and decorated with antiques, our coastal cottage also had brand new central heat and air and a completely updated interior, while still maintaining 1931 wood floors and wood trim molding. When you stay in this quiet cottage, you will never want to leave. Thank you for sharing it with us.

We were blown away from the moment we walked into Aunt Vid\'s Cottage! Care has been placed in every aspect of the house. From the adorable front porch surrounded by flowers, opening the door and smelling like I walked into Crabtree and Evelyn, the sunny "Happy" feeling present in every single room, records, family games, fresh flowers in bud vases, gleaming hardwoods, beautiful antiques, hidden birds...just so much to say. We absolutely loved this gem of a house!! It\'s central location in Outer Banks was perfectly located near anything you could want to do. We would and do plan on staying here again!! Thank you for the hospitality!!

This vintage cottage was clean, cozy, and had everything needed for our 4 day stay! We enjoyed the record player and "Oldie but Goodie" record albums :) We couldn't get the lock to work on one of our days there but Cecilia helped us right away and put us back in business. If you're visiting the OBX area - this is the place to stay!

My party and I all enjoyed staying at this wonderful little cabin. Upon check-in, there was a personalized note, welcoming us, and sweet treat to enjoy. We loved the origin story and the overall comfort and coziness of the place. We will definitely be back.

We were highly impressed with this little cottage after staying many years in local hotels. The cottage was like home rather than some non descript room. The small details of a personal note made that much more special.We are looking forward to coming back in the fall and years to come. Our daughter told some co-workers and they are also interested in booking next year as they have already booked a property for this year.Thank you for the allowing us to stay in such a unique home.

This was our first experience on the Island of Manteo and Wanchese. The Cottage was very close to the venue of my nephew's wedding. We were able to have a relaxed enjoyable experience. The Cottage was well stocked, the hosts anticipated our every need and provided fun entertainment. We loved our stay.

The cottage is nestled in a historic village on Roanoke Island. We really like how close it was to everything but still off the beaten path. The cottage is comfortably appointed with fun touches like a record player and a wide variety of music choices. The kitchen has the basics for simple meals and a washer and dryer.Downside- the central air really struggles to keep it cool, however there are fans. When we stayed outside temps hovered between 95-100(the one and only reason for not giving it 5 stars). The host is wonderful Also, go on a dolphin tour, 5 minutes away - Harbor Star tours!

Honestly, even if you weren't planning on going to Wanchese, staying in this place would make it worthwhile to take a detour. So close to the alligator national wildlife refuge, which is why we went, but ridiculously close to the beaches and restaurants and all of that if you're interested in that as well. Great place. Felt more like a cabin than a beach rental, which is why I liked it.

We came to Wanchese for the OBX Marathon and Half Marathon to watch our daughter run her first event. The house was really close to the Start/Finish line so that made it easy on us for the early start. The house was really clean and quaint; the turtable and albums were utilized alot so we got to reminisce about Billy Joel, Linda Ronsatdt and Little Feat!

This cottage was perfect for just the two of us. We like to stay away from the touristy crowds, but be close enough to take day trips to the beach/restaurants/attractions. Aunt Vid's cottage is the most charming little place with everything you need. Manteo and Wanchese were nice to explore, as well as trips across the bridge to all of the Outer Banks.

We were blown away from the moment we walked into Aunt Vid\'s Cottage! Care has been placed in every aspect of the house. From the adorable front porch surrounded by flowers, opening the door and smelling like I walked into Crabtree and Evelyn, the sunny "Happy" feeling present in every single room, records, family games, fresh flowers in bud vases, gleaming hardwoods, beautiful antiques, hidden birds...just so much to say. We absolutely loved this gem of a house!! It\'s central location in Outer Banks was perfectly located near anything you could want to do. We would and do plan on staying here again!! Thank you for the hospitality!!

This was our first experience on the Island of Manteo and Wanchese. The Cottage was very close to the venue of my nephew's wedding. We were able to have a relaxed enjoyable experience. The Cottage was well stocked, the hosts anticipated our every need and provided fun entertainment. We loved our stay.

The cottage was clean,neat and close to the marina where our charter was located. The only faults were the lack of an exhaust fan in the bathroom which was in close proximity to the kitchen and dining area; if the tv was capable of getting local channels there were no instructions on how to acquire them and lastly some of the boards on the back deck needed to be replaced. Off season dining options are rather limited in Wanchese - that's not the proprietor's fault.

This cozy cottage was a good central location for visiting many Outer Banks sites. We enjoyed sitting on the front porch and deck during our stay. The house had lots of nice touches, even a guitar and turntable.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Aunt Vid’s cottage! It was our quiet retreat after spending the days exploring OBX. We loved sitting outside listening to the birds in the evening. And as others have said, it was fun having such an eclectic selection of LP’s to listen to on the record player! And we enjoyed fresh local fish bought just down the road. Mmmmm. Good!

This was the sweetest, coziest, and happiest little cottage to stay in. The property is well maintained. It has everything you need for a nice get away. It's a great jumping off point, Kitty Hawk museum, the lighthouse, the ocean, and local eateries.

A birthday celebration get together. Cards, wine, records playing below the chatter at the cottage. Daily escapades to Nags Head beaches, Mulligans & Blue Moon for lunches, Manteo shopping and the Elizabethan Gardens. Bought seafood at O’Neals and cooked a few nights. Kitchen had what we needed. No complaints, loved it and hope to return!

This is a beautiful cottage,, me and my best friend are both widows now and we had a wonderful week together here. Everything was here that we needed and we most loved the fact that you are away from the tourist crowd but close enough to anything you could possibly want. We felt very safe in this sweet community. The only suggestion I would give anyone considering on visiting is bring mosquito spray,, this is the coastal marsh area and there are mosquitos. Thanks to Aunt Vid’s descendants for the use of their cottage!!! Susan and Bonnie

Yes- our hosts were very welcoming and communicated with us well. The cottage was exactly what we hoped for - warm and cozy and like a step back in time but still meeting all of our “modern” needs.
