The heater did not work, they had a small heater for the small room but it didn’t even warm the room, notified front desk he said it was working but the room was freezing even when I turned on the wall heater. Heating is very important especially during the winter

The staff were friendly and accommodating. Only issue was there’s no lift and we stayed on the third floor! We had to carry our luggage! Hotel was near everything though. Best area to stay but the stairs are not easy.

Great location and price. But need some attention. Heating doesn't work (they gave me portable heater) and TV doesn't work when it is raining. Good bed and hot shower. But hotel needs bit of maintenance.

We liked the overall property but the downfall was the beds were so uncomfortable. We knew the room would be small and no A/C but with the weather it was fine. The street was very noisy with the window open, but we could deal with that. Everything was clean and the staff was nice. The location was great being able to walk to hyde park and Paddington station. Make sure you contact them about parking ahead of time. We did not but luckily they had a space available, and only 20 pounds a nignt.

The facility does NOT have an elevator. I stayed at room 15, 5th floor, if i am not mistaken. I have to carry my large luggage and would be exhausted even before entering my floor.

The accomodation is about 5 minute walk from paddington station, local to a few bars and cafes, parking is limited. The reception was manned , there is no lift and if on the top floor this is a troublesome time with luggage . The room was basic, noise from traffic died down around 1130pm single pane glass was cold, room measured around 7ft wide by 18ft long, electronic key card, bathroom could be a problem if a medium+ build, sink around chest height, shower small fixed not very powerfull and made the floor wet, tourist information point in reception, the toiletries consistered of soap and hair/shower gel, ample towels and spare toilet roll, no food available but plenty cafes around so not a problem

Great location and the staff are fantastic. I was on the top floor that was 73 very steep stairs. (no lift) The staff were more than happy to carry my bags, but I'm fit and even I found them very hard. Apart from that no complaints-shampoo and conditioner would have been handy in the room

Good for a budget stay. Small rooms in an old building with lots of character but could definitely do with a refurbish. Carpets and linens have seen better days. Staff are lovely. Location is excellent if you’re comfortable with the London Underground. Bit if a walk if you’re not though. They charge you for luggage storage if you need to store your bags. £5 if after 2 pm. Only major recommendation is to invest in some quiet latches for the doors. You can hear every single door slam at all hours. Would stay again for price.

Room was very dirty. Floor had not been hoovered. Bed sheets had brown stains on them. Tiny bathroom with zero places to hang towels to dry. Plus the shower switch was broken and only provided 2 tiny towels for 2 people no hand towel. Quiet room though and easy check in.

Hotel is in a great area close to train and bus stops and Hyde Park. Staff is friendly and helpful. The property needs a bit of maintenance and cleaning. My shower flooded the whole bathroom, mattress needs to be replaced, sheets did not fit the bed properly and carpet desperately needs a cleaning.

The place was ok. Clean sheets, hot showers, two things we needed. But, unless you travel with just a backpack, climbing 60 steps to the third floor with luggage and then back down was horrendous!! The room could have used a good deep cleaning-the ceiling fan looks like it hasn’t been cleaned since the day it was installed!! The shower soap holder same thing!! The bathroom towel rack was barely hanging on the way, But, put those three things aside, clean room, clean sheets, hot shower, tea/coffee. It would have been nice to have TV for “noise”, but you had to log into your own TV stuff. Centrally located to Paddington Train station a block away, great location. Restaurants & sidewalk shopping. Overall for the price it was fine for the two nights we were there and I forgot to mention that they hold your luggage when you arrive before checkin time which was extremely helpful to be able to go sightsee without lugging around your luggage. I don’t have pictures of the shower caddy or the ceiling fan, I was going to take pictures of both, but didn’t.

I was welcomed with a lovely smile from a young man at reception. When I was checking in the guy, said that they had upgraded my room. I got to my room , it was very clean smelt very fresh. Nice shower with plenty of hot running water. Bed was comfortable and blankets were available. The bathroom was very clean and decorated to good standard.

As always, the caveat that I’m reviewing this in comparison with other 2-3 star hotels. For a budget hotel, and in particular a budget room, this was fine and did not disappoint. Yes the room is very small but it’s as advertised, it’s a budget room. The bed is comfortable enough. The bathroom is tiny, the shower is particularly narrow so is not the easiest for a tall person, but it’s workable for one or two nights. However, the most important factor is that the room and bathroom were clean. The window opens enough to allow a lot of air in and there’s a fan attached to the wall above the bed. The room is very quiet. Finally, a mention for the friendly, welcoming staff whom it was a pleasure to meet. Overall, a decent 4 stars.

Great property for staying in London, very close to Paddington station and Hyde Park. Staff were friendly and welcoming and let us check in early which was very convenient. Rooms were basic but very clean, it was very quiet too so no disturbances. Bed and pillows were comfy and there is a fan in the room to keep cool, I had a really good nights sleep both nights! We will be back next time we are in London :)

I was in room number 19. Avoid it at all costs. The room was the size of a shoe box. Literally impossible to turn around. With two suitcases I had place my bags in the bathroom to have just a minimum of space.

Convenient and quiet, I booked as it seemed good value. I booked a double but got a twin. The bathroom is smaller than a cupboard but functional. If you just need a bed then it is fine.

Upon arrival, was told my reservation was not at this hotel, but a 'sister hotel' two doors down. There was no notification of this before my arrival. Room was in need of some refurbishment. Damp patches coming through ceiling, unclean curtains, creaking beds etc. Bathroom was clean with a good shower, however.

Europa review I can not comment on the quality of the hotel as they cancelled my booking without warning, resold my room and then refused to refund me. Apparently, they believe it’s fine if you do not check-in on day 1 of a 3-day stay to keep all of your money and resell the room and therefore get paid twice for it. I was left without a room at 10pm. The receptionist was very rude and didn’t understand why I would have s problem! I would think twice about staying here if you are booking a non-refundable room as they will keep your money despite not being entitled to do so. They even stood their ground when contacted by Hotels.com. They are completely lacking morals. I sent Europa a message explaining that I wouldn’t arrive on the first day of my booking via hotels.com which didn’t arrive (hotels.com issue). This explains why they considered me a ‘no-show’ but not why they wouldn’t refund a room I had already paid for and wanted to use. The fact they sold the room twice did not seem to matter to them. I stay in London often for work but it will now be elsewhere. I am currently exploring my legal options.

Apparently, they believe it’s fine if you do not check-in on day 1 of a 3-day stay to keep all of your money and resell the room and therefore get paid twice for it. I was left without a room at 10pm. The receptionist was very rude and didn’t understand why I would have s problem! I would think twice about staying here if you are booking a non-refundable room as they will keep your money despite not being entitled to do so. They even stood their ground when contacted by Hotels.com. They are completely lacking morals. I sent Europa a message explaining that I wouldn’t arrive on the first day of my booking via hotels.com which didn’t arrive (hotels.com issue). This explains why they considered me a ‘no-show’ but not why they wouldn’t refund a room I had already paid for and wanted to use. The fact they sold the room twice did not seem to matter to them. I stay in London often for work but it will now be elsewhere. I am currently exploring my legal options.

Hotel receptionist was a very friendly gentleman. Told me where local shops were and where to eat. The room was well presented, very clean ,no mould or things broken.There were even USB ports in the double socket!! Lovely and quiet too, which in london is hard to find. I booked last minute and I wasn't expecting the hotel to be so nice, considering how cheap it was. I was upgraded to a double room,with no extra cost. Would definitely stay here again.

The service in this hotel was bizarre-ly bad. When we arrived the check in was so awkward and confusing. And the lack of hospitality just continued from there. Really ruined our stay at an otherwise nice hotel.

I was welcomed with a lovely smile from a young man at reception. When I was checking in the guy, said that they had upgraded my room. I got to my room , it was very clean smelt very fresh. Nice shower with plenty of hot running water. Bed was comfortable and blankets were available. The bathroom was very clean and decorated to good standard.

Stayed one night, two twin bed rooms. Would definitely stay again. Couple of minor issues, toilet flush not working in one room, but was fixed straight away. Toilet roll holder not fixed to the wall properly in the other room. Bathroom quite small, & shower might be an issue for tall or a larger size person, but it was ok for us. If your looking for an inexpensive stay in London, a couple of minutes from Paddington & Hyde park this hotel definitely fits the bill. We will definitely stay here again

Tiny, cramped and dirty, but for the cheap price so close to Paddington Station, I can deal with it. What was NOT OKAY was the fact that the desk clerk thought it was acceptable to put us in a room on the top floor with 7 flights of twisty stairs when my mom USES A CANE!!! He could clearly see she has some mobility issues and not only assigned us this room with all the stairs and no elevator, but didn’t even bother to offer to help with the luggage. My mom severely injured her bad hip and knee even worse going up and down that many stairs and it negatively impacted our entire trip. So don’t expect them to care if you ask to switch rooms, or care if you’re disabled. And don’t expect a clean room or fresh towel.

The hotel is perfect for the price. The location near Paddington Station is great for getting the train to Heathrow airport. The neighborhood is lovely. Easy walking distance to Hyde Park and multiple Tube stations. The furniture and bathroom are perfectly fine. Nothing about this place is fancy or ritzy. Save your money by staying here and treat yourself to another fancy meal or concert. Inside the room it was quiet and clean. All the basics are perfectly covered.

The accomodation is about 5 minute walk from paddington station, local to a few bars and cafes, parking is limited. The reception was manned , there is no lift and if on the top floor this is a troublesome time with luggage . The room was basic, noise from traffic died down around 1130pm single pane glass was cold, room measured around 7ft wide by 18ft long, electronic key card, bathroom could be a problem if a medium+ build, sink around chest height, shower small fixed not very powerfull and made the floor wet, tourist information point in reception, the toiletries consistered of soap and hair/shower gel, ample towels and spare toilet roll, no food available but plenty cafes around so not a problem

Tiny bathroom in urgent need of a new shower head, okay-ish size twin bedroom (okay for the price). Comfy beds. Very helpful staff who arranged parking when I hadn't booked any and who lended us his personal phone charger. Great location, few minutes walk to Hyde Park and Paddington Station. Good breakfast options closeby.

Great location just a short walk from Paddington. Staff are friendly and helpful. Close to lots of eateries. Next door to Hyde Park for some great green space. Building is older of course but has everything you need and is neat and tidy. I stay for work quite often and it works perfectly for me as its good value accommodation.

The Europa House is an affordable London hotel, which is clean, comfortable and quiet. The staff on reception were very pleasant. There’s a great selection of eateries just along the road. It’s within 5 minutes walk of Paddington and 15minutes of Hyde Park. I only stayed there for one night, but would happily stay again.

This hotel is very reasonably priced. We enjoyed the proximity to Paddington station and Hyde park. Room felt spacious though the bathroom was very small. No A/C which was a trade off we regretted as we were here during a heatwave. Room was surprisingly quiet and the staff was very pleasant.

I arranged beforehand to have if possible a ground floor room due to stiffness in my legs and this was provided. Even though I arrived late, the staff were courteous and friendly on all my three nights in the hotel, even allowing me to store my luggage for an extended time free of charge when I booked out. The caveats though are with the room itself, and the cleaning staff. There was a wooden panel covering the radiator which fell down. I informed the reception and they kindly offered for someone to fix it, but as I didn't want someone to come in my room while I was out I, I politely declined as once propped up against it it didn't cause me any problems. A raised step into the bathroom DID though cause me an issue as a possible trip hazard in the dark, or in the morning, so I was forced to use one of their towels to permantly mark it. Again, I informed the reception about this, so hopefully they will mark it clearer for the next occupant. Finally, the room though being handy on the ground floor, and at the back, the windows led out on to a space between where late in the night I heard voices, so kept windows closed even with the heat. There WAS a fan in the room, but while asleep was slightly too noisy for me, so kept off, which meant room was quite stifling. Finally, housekeeping, there is NO way it seems to stop being awaken/disturbed by daily visit in the morning, without calling reception directly before. As my remaing towel was okay I found this VERY irritating.
