My family and I had a wonderful stay at Black Dog Lodge. Everything was clean and exactly as described. We loved that firewood was provided and the kitchen had anything you could need. The only downside was the checkout was really early at 9:00am.

We had a very nice week at Mia’s Black Dog Lodge. Everything about the house was top notch. Seeing many eagles around the lake was a huge bonus! One even landed in a tree next to the dock. Fishing from the dock was great for the little ones. Unfortunately the algae prevented us from getting into the water. This is a wonderful location and the lake is beautiful.
We had a very nice week at Mia’s Black Dog Lodge. Everything about the house was top notch. Seeing many eagles around the lake was a huge bonus! One even landed in a tree next to the dock. Fishing from the dock was great for the little ones. Unfortunately the algae prevented us from getting into the water. This is a wonderful location and the lake is beautiful.

We are grateful for the beautiful home and accommodations this week--our annual family get away. Good fishing off the dock and on the lake, quiet mornings with coffee and babies on the deck overlooking Big Chetac. Such a blessing to be here--clean and well-kept. We liked the cabin A LOT. Well furnished. Having 3 bathrooms was great. Fishing was ok. Despite sand bottom by shore, water was green and floating weeds so we weren’t in water as much would have liked. Very nice fire pit area. Hayward not too far away for family activities.

We loved the access to the lake, the comfort of the home, and all the amenities. We would highly recommend this place and hope to be back! It was also nice to have the option to bring our four-legged family member! :)

Very nice clean property. The sleeping arrangements were perfect for our 2 families which included 6 adults and 4 teens. We were in the area for a pheasant hunt, and the location was perfect, near the game farm. Loved the deck areas, and the view of the lake with the fall colors was beautiful. The downstairs family area was perfect for our kids to have their own space away from the adults. Kitchen was well stocked with all the necessities for cooking you would need and more. Host was very friendly and accommodating. Will definitely look to book again in the future.

Our family spent a long weekend at this lake home. Great gathering space in the main room and the kitchen was easy to use for getting big meals done. Bedrooms were all nicely set up. And having three full bathrooms was awesome. Communication with the owners was easy and they were very responsive. Nice lake with a good balance of peaceful quiet and active lake life. Note for those with a physical restriction, there are a lot of stairs you’ll need to manage to get down to the lake front and back up to the house. Yard space for setting up games like cornhole is a bit limited, but we made it work. Overall we had a wonderful time around the bonfire and would recommend for large groups.

I have stayed in many excellent and upscale VRBO properties . This cabin was the cleanest - absolutely spotless ! Everything was beautifully and meticulously organized and so well equipped ! The owners were a joy to work with ! I give this cabin and our experience staying there a 10 out of 10 - everything was PERFECT !!

One of the best VRBO stays we experienced. Everything we needed, clean, and plenty of room. Gerri is an A+++ host. My family had a great time and my grandson caught his first ever fish. It doesn't get any better!!

We (a small group of women friends) absolutely loved Mia's Black Dog Lodge for our annual spring girlfriend's getaway. It was super clean, comfortable, wonderfully furnished and decorated, and had everything we needed. A beautiful spot and convenient to town. We will return!

Stayed with a group of friends for a ice fishing/snowmobile trip. Although there was not enough snow to ride we had fun ice fishing on the lake and another lake nearby. Very fun getaway. House was very clean and organized. Great communication from owners. Will definitely be back!

We had a great family getaway at the end of summer. We enjoyed kayaking and as well as relaxing in the house. A crazy summer storm went through the area and the power was knocked out for several hours. Gerri checked in on us via text after the power went out—that was really thoughtful.

We had snowmobile trailers and from pics on Vrbo you really could not see parking. Well Gerri took care of that problem and all was good. We snowmobiled out from cabin and had a great time. The cabin was very clean and was stocked well with household items. Thank you Gerri and Berni, it was fun!!

This was our second stay here & it was fabulous! The cleanliness of the home makes it a winner for me, along with the location, and being dog friendly. Bernie and Gerri are wonderful property managers & really take care of their guests. This spot has a special little place in our hearts!

It's a great place for a family vacation! The lake is beautiful, fishing and watersports are fun, and there's plenty of opportunity to relax in peace and quiet. Neighborhood deer and overhead eagle sightings were abundant, as well as the sounds of the loons. The owners are very responsive to any questions that may come up. We will definitely be visiting again!

We (a small group of women friends) absolutely loved Mia's Black Dog Lodge for our annual spring girlfriend's getaway. It was super clean, comfortable, wonderfully furnished and decorated, and had everything we needed. A beautiful spot and convenient to town. We will return!

We had a very nice week at Mia’s Black Dog Lodge. Everything about the house was top notch. Seeing many eagles around the lake was a huge bonus! One even landed in a tree next to the dock. Fishing from the dock was great for the little ones. Unfortunately the algae prevented us from getting into the water. This is a wonderful location and the lake is beautiful.

What a great stay! The house is spacious, comfortable and clean and had everything we needed. Great lake view/access and nice fire pit. Hosts Gerri and Bernie couldn't have been nicer. Perfect!

We are grateful for the beautiful home and accommodations this week--our annual family get away. Good fishing off the dock and on the lake, quiet mornings with coffee and babies on the deck overlooking Big Chetac. Such a blessing to be here--clean and well-kept. We liked the cabin A LOT. Well furnished. Having 3 bathrooms was great. Fishing was ok. Despite sand bottom by shore, water was green and floating weeds so we weren’t in water as much would have liked. Very nice fire pit area. Hayward not too far away for family activities.

Enjoyed our stay …. very clean home with everything you might need to make meals and enjoy time spent together with family. Hosts were extremely responsive. Even got to see some uninvited guests … loons, deer, fawn and muskrats swimming in the lake. Would definitely stay again!

Very nice clean property. The sleeping arrangements were perfect for our 2 families which included 6 adults and 4 teens. We were in the area for a pheasant hunt, and the location was perfect, near the game farm. Loved the deck areas, and the view of the lake with the fall colors was beautiful. The downstairs family area was perfect for our kids to have their own space away from the adults. Kitchen was well stocked with all the necessities for cooking you would need and more. Host was very friendly and accommodating. Will definitely look to book again in the future.

The place looked even better than the pictures on VRBO. Located on a dead end road to add to the peaceful seclusion of the property. Of course the fishing on Big Chetac is always great. We will definitely be staying here again.

Our family spent a long weekend at this lake home. Great gathering space in the main room and the kitchen was easy to use for getting big meals done. Bedrooms were all nicely set up. And having three full bathrooms was awesome. Communication with the owners was easy and they were very responsive. Nice lake with a good balance of peaceful quiet and active lake life. Note for those with a physical restriction, there are a lot of stairs you’ll need to manage to get down to the lake front and back up to the house. Yard space for setting up games like cornhole is a bit limited, but we made it work. Overall we had a wonderful time around the bonfire and would recommend for large groups.
